I stood in front of the window, looking out at the peaceful morning, but all I could think about was the fight I had with Ryan. He actually left me alone, contrary to what he had told me. He promised to always protect me and then abandoned me.

"Laura," Scott softly said from the doorway.

"What?" I asked, not bothering to look at him.

"Ryan was seen with his former coven," Scott said, causing tears to stream down my cheeks. He despised them for their bad judgment, but now he's back to help them.

"Leave him alone," I said firmly, my voice level showing no sign of weakness.
