CHAPTER-4 DEADLY ALPHA BALL

Allison glanced at the velvet green Princess gown with sparkle on her bust area and golden heels with matching earrings. Tears threatened to come out but she sniffed ignoring her inner turmoil. She needed to do this, for her brother. Her only family. Unwantedly she has to attend this party to know the whereabouts of her brother.

She had hoped that her Alpha may request this Lycan king to spare the rest warriors which she learned were four who were missing or prisoner by The lycan. Nobody knows. Only He can confirm it. So she thought of attending this ball.

She grabbed the dress fetched by Nora who was getting ready in another room in her home. Nora’s place was five minutes walk from her home so they practically live in her home most of the time and do the things. She wore the gown which was off shoulder with a zipper behind, put on the earrings and pulled her brown looks into a messy lower bun with natural make-on. Her natural green emerald eyes were complimenting her attire perfectly. They matched the dress color and finally she adorned herself with a pendant.

It was not an ordinary pendant but a special one casted by her mother’s spell given to her on her tenth birthday when she felt her first power. It was a flat round green color stone with a small angel flying pattern inside it linked to the golden chain.

This was to protect her from evil eyes and restore her vitality in case she drained up by healing others. She normally wears it while going out of her town every time but today she didn't feel safe even with her own pack when the deadly creature would invade their place.

She wore it and looked at the girl in the mirror decorated like a showpiece. She was simply beautiful with green emerald eyes, light Auburn curly hair and a round face with full lips. But today the shine in her luscious green eyes was dull. Instead there stood a defeated girl left alone among the hungry beasts around.

“Ali, are you done? Let's go babe, we are already late.” Nora jogged inside wearing the pale blue colored long sleeves ball gown with deep cleavage on display. It perfectly suited her sandy blonde hair and white complexion.

“Yes, I just need you to get the zipper done.” Allison sighed before wearing her heels.

“My girl, you look mesmerizing just like the perfect enchanting witch is ready to cast a seductive spell on her prey.” Nora chimed in, approving her look while pulling up her zipper. If it were the other times, Allison could have laughed at her tease but not today.

“Thanks. You too don't look less than the falling angel..” Allison said truthfully as both of them walked out of the house. Nora sighed.

“Only if this angel could fall in the arms of her mate.” Her dreamy look made Allison smile slightly. She wished Nora to find her mate and live happily beside him forever. But for her own self, Allison had big dreams to fulfil. She just turned eighteen for goodness sake. While Nora was twenty-two.

Suddenly Nora’s eyes dilated seeing her boyfriend, leaning on his car door waiting for them. Allison sucked in a deep breath not concealing her distaste.

“I can't let you go alone as you don't have your date, babe.” With this emotional blackmailing from Nora she had to go with them. Moreover, it's a ten minutes drive to the ball party venue so she could tolerate their chunky punky banters.

Soon they reached the place and entered the magnificent crystal ballroom banquet hall shining under the golden chandeliers. The people were cladded in expensive suits and gowns. The hubbub through the ballroom confused Allison to the point of thinking how they easily forgot the tragic occurrence that happened a few days ago which snatched the pack’s best members.

She was stunned by their changing attitudes. Such a turncoats-filled pack.

And she was going to mop around among the fickle-minded public.

She held the gaze of many unmated male wolves who stared at her with hungry eyes and suddenly Allison felt repulsive. She should have gone for a simple attire, it's nothing like she was going to impress anyone. But Nora chose for her. She glanced down and frowned with a  thought that it was nothing special as many other girls and women were wrapped with high branded dresses.

“Even a simple rag on you would make you look attractive, Ali. Considering your unique beauty and sweet personality.” she looked at her left side from where Sebastian walked to her with a drink in his  hand. He saw the confusion on her face and thought to remind her about her beauty. She never showed arrogance and thought highly about herself ever, according to her every person is beautiful in some way. What's so special about her except her unique eyes which she admits was her own favorite.

She snorted at his comment,  looking at him who was decorated in a blue velvety three-piece tuxedo with his side part blonde haircut. Though he was handsome but to Allison he was nothing less than a nuisance. He just kept irritating her for months to become her boyfriend. Being Alpha’s son doesn't give you the title to mess with any girl.

“Hey Seb, you look devilishly handsome.” Nora greeted him with a smirk and hooked her arm around Asher.

“Like you look perfectly exquisite tonight.” Sebastian seemed flattered by her statement and didn't hesitate to compliment her in return. But he wanted to have the praise from Allison who didn't bat an eye to him.

“Care to join me, Ali.” He offered his arm and Allison seemed reluctant, she didn't want to offend him in public as he was high in authority and she just couldn't put her life at stake by rejecting him. So she hooked her arm against his and they stepped into the hall of the ballroom.

“You are looking enchanting just like a falling angel, Ali. I just sometimes wish you could be my fated mate.” Allison's eyes broadened by his new pick up line. She doesn't miss the flash in his eyes like he was saying in emotions. If someone can go to this extent to pursue his love interest more like the next victim to his bedroom.

Or maybe his feelings were true to her, he had a crush on her and was being sincere to her. That's why he was tolerating her remarks recently. Whatever it was, it was bad, putting Allison on edge. She wanted nothing to get over this ball and run back to her home and get good sleep.

But Nah! Party has just started.

“Thanks Sebastian. You also look good tonight.” She didn't care to chat with him further and glanced around the crowd, people exchanging pleasantries and chatting with other pack members.

“Iam sorry about your family, it's a big loss to our pack to lose the strongest and generous warriors. Ali, If you need anything, Don't hesitate to come to me…” He trailed off pausing himself, the sad look on his handsome face couldn't impress Allison. Her mood turned sore by listening to his fake empathy, when his father was responsible for this.

“Hey Seb, long time no see.” One boy in his early twenties approached them and said before he did fist bump with Sebastian. He turned to Allison and whistled.

“Who is this beauty, may I ask?” He asked with a smirk. Sebastian growled slightly and said,

“She is my girlfriend and don't you dare to ogle at her, Joe.”

The nerve of this guy!

Allison wanted to slap his face for calling her his girlfriend but the Joe guy interrupted her little angry twirl in her mind.

“Relax dude, she is yours. I was just asking. By the way, Iam Joe Collins, the next Alpha in line from the crescent  moon pack.” The guy with brown blonde hair introduced himself by shaking hands with Allison. She could see the arrogance in his features just like Sebastian and Asher.

She sighed internally, guess all are womanizers.

“So I heard, The Dark king is coming tonight. Man, I have never seen Him ever since my existence. I heard a lot about his notorious deeds. Did your father know about him in the war….” He was saying when Allison found him zipping his mouth abruptly and from her peripheral view she could feel that it was because of Sebastian who must have gestured him to shut up.

She looked up at both of them when Sebastian cleared his throat before holding her waist.

“Ali, could you please wait for me. I need to greet and welcome Alpha Kiren and his associates inside.” Sebastian asked her while gesturing towards the group of people who entered the ballroom. Allison nodded and both the friends left her there unwillingly, Not like she wanted their company either.

The couples started dancing around on mild music when Allison’s eyes spotted Alpha Ralph talking to the member of the neighboring pack, no it was from Blue Moon pack which her Alpha declared ceased after the war. She carefully looked at the old man and jogged towards her jumbled memory. Yes, it was the Shaman!

But why was he here and how could he escape the deadly battle. Their talks seemed serious at the corner behind the stall. Suddenly her senses turned high, spurring her to walk toward them but again she didn't want to grab their attention. So slowly and sneakily she sauntered towards the end of the stall and pretended to grab the piece of brownie.

“All you can do is not to inflame the Dark walker in any way, Alpha. Not today….” She heard the Shaman requesting the Alpha.

“I also don't want to have any trouble with my pack when I'm on the edge to solve this predicament and save whatever I have left in my hands…” Alpha Ralph muttered tentatively. Allison frowned deeply listening to their words.

Another emerging power which nobody knows is that she has sharp hearing when she concentrates on the particular voice of a person whose voice she had printed in her mind before. She has been using this power from far away. That's why she hates the boys and girls talking about her behind her in college.

She just has to recall the certain voice of the person in her mind and she could interlink to his current talking state without even seeing his face.

“Whatever He demands, I will give Him. Apology, or any damn thing in the world But I need to get on His good book. I can't let Him create a bloodbath here. It was wrong and ridiculous on my part to send my best warrior there thinking all of them including other four packs could take the Lycan King down.. But no.. Those people failed me…”

Suddenly Allison’s stomach clenched after hearing Alpha's contemptible statement. How could he do that to his own people?

She gripped the table sheet in her fists and felt suffocated. That damn Alpha was the killer of his own people. Why did he want to end the Lycan? What would he get by doing so?

Here she hoped she could get the information about her brother but the Alpha was busy in scheming his own game plans. What could she do now? Whom to ask and approach?

“We can just wish for no more butchery here in this ballroom, otherwise I can't guarantee that He will be calm here after knowing your dishonesty to our own community……considering how He exterminated the packs.” Unwillingly Allidon shuddered at Shaman's words.

Her mind was on the verge of explosion with newly found half information. She knew that something was more to this case but nobody cared except her. She felt betrayed. She needed fresh air. Turning, she walked to leave the ballroom when in the mid way Nora pulled her to the dance floor.

“Ali, let's dance.” She grabbed her arm but Allison shook her head.

“Noro..no. I'm not feeling well. I need fresh air. I will come back after a while. You carry on..” She managed to say. Nora frowned and held her shoulders.

“Babe, you sure you are fine. You look like you are going to cry any second.” Nora commented but Allison smiled at her. She didn't want to ruin her fun.

“I'm fine, trust me. Feeling a little nauseous with the strong scents around you know. You just carry on.” She laughed trying to look normal. She squeezed Nora’s hand and slipped out of the gathering.
