CHAPTER-5: DARK LORD

She walked out of the ballroom, it was almost dusky outside indicating the evening had invited the dark night as cold air hit her bare skin. She regretted not wearing her cardigan but again she needed to get back to the ballroom and tolerate this cold to fresh her mood. The mighty Dark walkers had not arrived yet but her mind was stuck on her Alpha’s deception and her missing brother.

She didn't see Noami around, she could imagine her sulking and crying in the corner of her home over her mate. For once, Allison was tempted to go to her and join hands to hunt for their missing males.Naomi was a strong wolf and could help her in her hunt. Other two more warriors who were missing, their family didn't care and assumed them dead. But not Allison and Naomi.

“Ali, what are you doing here?” Allison heard Sebastian’s voice and clenched her jaws instinctively. She looked at him, the Alpha's son. It was ironic how her gaze seemed hard and her perception about him changed totally. He looked at how she was hugging herself to provide some warmth to her body. He took off his jacket and put it on her shoulders before guiding her inside, ignoring the emitting rage from her. For him she was just a naive, harmless and innocent human girl.

“It's cold outside, you shouldn't be wandering around in the chilling weather. Come on now! Also that King has just reached so let's get you in...” He murmured the last sentence under his breath. Allison looked up to his brooding face, it was evident he doesn't like the dark walker. She didn't miss the bitterness when he addressed the king.

They got back to the ballroom hall and he guided her to the vacant table to relax for a while before grabbing their drinks. Allison was already frustrated and wanted nothing more than to run from those filthy people. But she had to wait until this shit over otherwise her Alpha would eat her alive for missing like this.

Tears formed in her beautiful eyes and unconsciously she rubbed the green stone adorning her neck, reminiscing her family’s memories. How they were happy together a few years ago and everything got shattered a few days ago in a day. She was left alone in this dark world. She remembered how her brother kissed her forehead, encouraging her to be brave and strong before leaving. She was the apple of their eyes. The little princess!

Allison was so lost in her thoughts that she missed the pin-drop silence around her when the sound of footsteps hit the shining floor startling everyone about the powerful aura radiating through the ballroom hall.

A man walked inside through the middle of the empty hall, people scurrying back in fear and intimidation. His walk oozed power and superiority. His tall majestic figure was encircled in an all-black suit with black combat boots and a black cloak covering his muscular body leaving the people to wonder with imagination.

Alpha Ralph was left stunned by seeing His face, everyone was. After all, they were seeing the majestic Lycan, dark walker in front of their eyes for the first time and surely they were under spell. Everything about Him screamed Royalty.

Indeed, He was the ‘Royal’.

His slick black hair was styled into angular fringe almost covering his one eye. The powerful aura and natural raging nerves of Him was spread like air among the people.

Two men in suits were trailing behind Him, they were as muscular as their master but not taller like him. They seemed to be his guards or soldiers. Alpha Ralph immediately composed himself and walked towards The dark lord tentatively with a polite smile and bowed slightly giving respect.

“It was such a pleasure to finally have your presence in our pack, My King.” Alpha Ralph's voice was low but because of the close-mouthed silence in the hall, it echoed through the closed walls grabbing Allison’s attention.

She glanced up to see the people were jammed into their spots and in the middle were five men standing, seeming to be talking to each other. There was one tall man in the middle whose face she couldn't see because of Alpha’s figure hiding the view from her eyes. But she was sure that it was the Lycan king, Lyceon villin Whitlock.

Suddenly her nerves seemed to freeze in his presence. She felt a strange fear and nervousness though she didn't even look at Him but she could tell it was the bad news having him here. The sudden urge to run from there evoked in her mind but she rooted to her sitting position seeing everyone statue. She just couldn't grab anyone's attention by moving her limbs, not especially His.

She was praying to not be seen by Him in any way, the familiar rage interpreted in her heart recalling her family’s death by His hands. He was the monster, the killer.

Allison looked at how her Alpha was trying to impress that monster by his sugar-coated words and flattery. She forced down the mockery laugh at them and took calming breaths.

Lyceon stared at the middle-aged Alpha in front of him, welcoming him with a ridiculous smile. He tilted his head slightly and gave a lopsided smirk.

“It's interesting! How you welcome the slaughterer of your warriors, inviting him to your Ball, Alpha Beckham.”

Allison’s breath hitched in her throat listening to His husky low voice. That was familiar! She felt that strange sense of deja vu.

She gripped her locket tightly with fear engulfing her senses.

No! It can't be!

Alpha Ralph felt offended by his words but didn't show it.

“I..I was wrong, my King. I didn't know that the Blue moon pack was fighting against you. Please grant me a chance to show my apology to you, My king.” Alpha implored the King with lowered eyes.

Allison was bemused by her Alpha, he was begging the monster who slaughtered his pack members. She was about to turn her gaze away from those hypocritical men when Alpha slid aside giving the space to the King and once again Allison was stunned to the core.

She had never seen such art in her whole life. The man who seemed around six feet and four inches stepped ahead with black attire and his dangerous aura. His slick black hair was complimenting his fair skin, he had sharp jawlines like the edge of the cliff and those pitch black eyes, she observed one of his eyes were covered by his medium-length hair but she didn't miss something shady over his left cheek hidden behind those black locks. Either it was a tattoo or a scar. She couldn't guess.

His rugged face was another definition of lethalness He spread around just by his stare. The clinking of his heels reminded everyone that they were glued like a statue to their place. Alpha and his guards followed after him to lead him to a special reserved table at the left.

Ever so slowly, His eyes gazed around leisurely without any blink. As He took more steps ahead, something happened. In a second, He stopped dead on the spot and took a deep whiff into the air by raising his head and closing his eyes.

Everyone who was relaxed a bit, tensed again feeling him sensing something.

His body twitched and He snapped open his eyes.

Red eyes!

Allison’s blood ran cold, every rational thought left her mind except those crimson eyes. Her chest rising and falling with the harsh breathing. A bile rising in her throat thinking about her worst nightmare.

She couldn't help but stand abruptly, and by doing so her shaking hand knocked into the wine-filled glass placed on the table which hit the floor and broke into tiny pieces. She blankly looked down at the red liquid splashed on the off white shining floor.

Silence!

Allison stilled, her terror-stricken face was witnessed by anyone whose attention she grabbed in the silence. She was on the verge of crying and prayed to her goddess for not letting the Dark lord see her. She won't be able to stand his eyes let alone his presence.

But her prayers went into vain when Lyceon turned his head ever so slowly towards her and stopped his gaze on her.
