The day had aged earlier than normal, since the continuous burst of thick black smoke had dirtied the sunset clouds before the night could. Currently, I was on the run again, having an indeterminate number of killers on my trail. Aisha had refused but knowing me, I could never take no for an answer. She had said that the Agent was working behind at some distances away from our own shelter, stretching a little further into the bushes, and far from where the settlers rushed to scavenge the last drops of rain water in their cistern.
