As we entered the building, people gave me stares and I knew why. Instead of feeling bad about myself, I smiled. It was inevitable that people would look at me. I mean, most of them had gotten comfortable with seeing my long blonde then black hair and now, there was long wind on my head.

I laughed inwardly at my idiocy, walking over to stand in line. They didn't look at Landon, though, too afraid to even stand too close to him. I stood next to him in the line, already knowing what I wanted to order and when I finally made it to the front of the line, I just ordered some nuggets and a milkshake.

I got Landon some Sprite and quickly paid with my own money. He took my small purse and reached into his pocket, pulling out a hundred dollar bill and tucking it into my purse and I gave him a blank look.

In response, he just grabbed the stuff and stepped out of the line, walking over to the back and I followed him slowly, a pain beginning to build in my chest and as I passed by, I saw
