Alpha Matthew’s face was etched with worry as he turned to Jamien, the pack doctor.

“What happened?” he asked urgently.

Jamien’s response was grave as he presented a sample of a purplish-blue liquid.

“There is a strange fluid in Julie Duke’s body,” he said. “It’s highly toxic and has a pungent odor. She’s been poisoned.”

Alpha Matthew’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Poisoned? Who could have done this?”

“We’re still investigating,” Jamien replied. “But it seems someone has deliberately targeted her.”

Alpha Matthew cursed under his breath. “This is unacceptable. We’ve taken every precaution to keep our pack safe, especially after stripping Alpha Hughes of his control. Do you think they have any other alliances?”

Jamien shrugged. “It’s hard to say. We’re looking into it.”
