At the intersection of Shaftesbury Avenue, and Greek Street was a Grand Palace Theatre housing a selected number of British capitalists. These were men of wealth and power more especially before the inversion of China businessmen in their main stake in Africa. They observed with dismay how the loyalty of their cronies in a number of African countries shifted from Europe to Asia. They felt compelled to intervene before their interests were completely wiped away by the neocolonialists from Asia.

In attendance was Bradford Welensky, the great grandson of the United Federal Party, UFP leader. The man invested heavily in the newly opened gold mines in the North Western part of Zambia with other interests ranging from the Sugar plantations and Ginneries. He resembled his grandfather more than his father. His acumen was steady and focused seemingly in a hurry to tap the abundant resources, which his ancestors failed to. At the age of thirty-two, he amassed great wealth
