Moxie watched as Mj’s demeanor slowly shifted. She went from anxiously perched on the chair waiting for any signs of life from their captive to slumped into the far corner of the SUV staring out the window. The concerned Cajun opened his mouth to speak when Ace tapped the brakes, sending him flopping into the rear of Ace’s seat. Moxie scowled at the commander but swallowed any and all insults when a strange but hauntingly familiar apartment building floated into view. Ace pulled the SUV into the rear parking lot and as Moxie started to secure the still unconscious Casper, it surprised him when Ace jumped to help him pull the dead weight from the truck instead of his sister.

Mj’s stomach turned in several knots as the silhouette of her
