The title for chapter 48 is also the name of the Ray Charles song Mj dances to, I made the chapter free to say thank you for all the amazing people I have met and also just to say Happy Mothers day to all the amazing parents. As the hours passed, Mj kept herself awake with the sadistic joy she got from waiting until Casper’s eyes drifted shut and his breathing slowed before she would kick his chair and watch his body jolt itself cognizant. The swelling and bruises on his face had started to subside, the blood on his face and clothes had long since dried, but the terrified tremors still plagued his entire frame. Mj continued her subtle, psychological torture, sometimes jumping up from her seat and charging toward Casper, only to spin herself around the rear of his armchair and head for the kitchen or simply sit back down and stretch her legs. Every time she moved close to him, the mentally worn man tied to the chair would clamp his lips shut as tightly as possible and whimper with fear of the unknown. The sun hung at its highest point in the sky as Ace stood out on the balcony with his skull and arms draped over the side. Trying to get a small reprieve from the horrific events taking place just behind him. Ace watched people walk back and forth below, going about their normal lives, completely unaware of the terror happening just under their noses. The commander sneered and shook his head as he watched the oblivious mindlessness of the masses march on their way, not knowing anything more than the minute problems that befell their benign lives. Just as Ace was reciting the words his father taught him about the pathetic existence of Omegas and non wolf humans, his phone began raging in his pocket. The Commander retrieved the device and shoved it up to his ear without even looking at the caller, “yes Alpha,” he barked and was rewarded with Azreal’s sly chuckle. “I have not heard from you or Ed since departure this morning, please tell me that means good news for us,” he asked and Ace

Ace continued to squeeze the steering wheel as he watched Mj move around uncomfortably in her seat. The assassin had started their journey relatively calm, it was almost as though the shower she took had washed away any and all signs of the absolutely manic woman she had been inside the apartment. But the closer they got to the pack house the more she began to fidget and fuss, and it was starting to get on Ace’s nerves, “we need to go straight to the Alpha’s office when we get home,” he mumbled and Mj stopped shaking her foot to snort a very juvenile laugh, “what’s wrong commander are you afraid I won't behave myself,” she joked and Ace grunted slightly, “I’m serious Mj, the Beta and Alpha are already stretched as thin as they can be with all the new arrivals,” he mumbled and Mj looked at him suspiciously. Jay and Moxie followed Mj as she slowly made her way out of Azreal’s now empty office and as they walked Moxie nudged his lover and motioned toward his little sister, Jay rolled his eyes and caught up with his sister, “where we headed sis,” he inquired and Mj did not answer she just began walking faster. Jay turned and shrugged at Moxie, who simply shoved the fair-haired hunter and Jay returned the shove. Mj tried to get herself further away from the playfully sparring couple behind her, not because she didn't care for them, but she wasn’t sure how much of their affection she could take before she lashed out at them for something that had nothing to do with them or their affection for one another. Lila arched her eyebrow and growled under her breath for the second time as Azreal tried to lean in and kiss her just under the earlobe. “I will cut off the next part of your body you try to touch me with and feed it to your damn roses,” she hissed and Mj stuffed her fist into her mouth, attempting to muffle an incredibly inappropriate laugh. Mara’s eyes were as wide as saucers as she elbowed Mj in the ribs, causing the snickering woman to grunt and clear her throat. Azreal growled as he stepped toward the noisy pair and Lila’s small caramel hand planted in the center of his chest, stopping the tunnel visioned Alpha, “it’s time for dinner Alpha, wouldn’t want to be late for the show,” the Beta explained in a cryptic whisper before she walked away from the stunned and angry Azreal. “Ladies, shall we,” the frighteningly calm Beta cooed and Mj tugged on the pleated leg of her navy-blue pinstripe sailor pant suit as the sheer fabric of Lila’s burnt orange dress flowed past her in gentle
