"It's the third time this week that I'm donating my blood to this strange lady that you never seem to take your eyes off of, even with me in the room!" Emily had paused very strand of fear she had for Liam as she yelled tearfully. Liam was her husband but the four years of their marriage were like four decades of unending torture and misery. She was completely in love with him but Liam detested her in turn, he married her only to inherit the family's multi-billion dollar business and once he's gotten that, tossed her away. Emily, despite living under his shadows for several years, believed that he would one day learn to love her as his wife but her hopes were shattered when Liam repeatedly demanded for her blood for his sick mistress. She could handle being maltreated but not cheated on, and drained of blood to the point of death. Emily demanded for divorce and he happily granted her wish but unknown to him, she was pregnant which was an outcome of a drunk night. ** No parents, no home, no money, Emily hoped for death but was miraculously rescued by a stranger. She returns to the country a few years later with her child who is the direct copy of Liam. "Boss, your ex-wife is back, and she seems to be married with a child who looks exactly like you," "They are both mine, and I will fight for what's mine!"

"Congratulations, Mrs Liam," My stomach churned in despair as I feared hearing the doctor's next words, which were pretty obvious now. "You are one month pregnant," he finally let the dreadful words out, sending stabs of pain through my already torn heart, slicing it into a million tiny pieces. Those words, which might sound delightful to other women's ears sounded like a curse in my ears right now. I had steadily endured the early signs because I dreaded hearing those words. How could I be pregnant for a man like Liam Johnson? He was my husband, but undoubtedly my worst nightmare. The sound of his car driving into the mansion or the sound of his footsteps walking into the house always had my heart beating drastically in terror. And when he stared at me, the fury in his eyes was evident. His gaze on me always held nothing but disgust and scorn. I knew getting married to me was the worst episode of his life but I had held onto the tiniest gleam of hope that he would adjust to it and learn to love me as his lawful wife. But those were mere wishes that never came true. Liam Johnson is one of the country's most popular and finest businessmen, he graciously soared in his family's multi-billion dollar company but he wanted more. He wanted to own the company. Mr Johnson, his father had no problem with that, but he has only one request. The company will be officially handed over to him if he agrees to get married, and not just to any lady but the housekeeper's daughter. Myself. My mom served the Johnsons as their housekeeper for several years and when I grew up, I automatically became their housekeeper as well in a bid to help my aging mother. She passed away few years later and to make sure of my wellbeing, they decided to pair me with their first child, Liam. They had taken a liking to me anyway. Liam couldn't resist the offer despite his hatred towards me and hence came our spiteful marriage of four years. I couldn't believe that one night of drunkenness and total mistake could ruin my life this way. Liam had returned home that night drunk and all over me, leading to a heated lovemaking. I thought it meant something, not until he woke up the next morning returning to his usual irritated attitude, and acted like nothing happened. "Is everything okay ma'am?" The doctor's voice snapped me out of my chain of thought. It suddenly occurred to me that I haven't said a word to him since he broke the news to me. "Uhm... I'm sorry, I got a little bit too excited," I lied, trying so hard to mask my misery behind a wide grin. "Of course, that's expected," he chuckled. "Here's the test result," he passed a wrapped envelope to me. "Thank you." "Would you like to enroll in our antenatal care right away, or you'll like to inform Mr Liam first?" My heart did a mighty leap of fright immediately Liam was mentioned. "My husband must not hear about this, please," "Why? It would be less stressful for..." "I'm hoping to surprise him," I quickly blurted out hastily before I could even analyse my words. Thankfully they came out perfect. I watched in relief as he relaxed back in his seat with a wide smile on his face. "That's incredible, I'm excited for him already," I flashed him a small smile, twitching uncomfortably in my seat. "I have to go now," I quickly stood to my feet. "Thank you for having me," I stretched forth my hand for a handshake and he gracefully took it. "It's my pleasure, I look forward to seeing you and Mr Liam again for the antenatal care." I nodded frantically and hurried out of the office. "Hey, is everything okay? What did the doctor say?" Jared quickly rushed towards me. Jared is Liam's younger brother, and just like their parents, he was good to me. I had called him to drive me to the hospital. Liam would rather stick a spoon into his eyes than take me, anyway. "Something about severe headache," I lied. As much as I trusted him, I couldn't bring myself to break the news to him, maybe not yet. "They recommended a lot of rest," I quickly added. "Rest? Have you been stressed lately? Does Liam have a hand in this?" He growled angrily. He was well aware of Liam's resentment towards me. "It has nothing to do with Liam, now please take me home," I walked past him and bolted towards the parking lot before he threw any more questions at me. ** "Are you sure you are going to be okay?" Jared asked for the umpteenth time as he dropped me off. "I'm fine Jared, thank you for driving me," I flashed him a warm smile and he returned it with a bigger one before driving off. Tears welled up in my eyes as I dragged my heavy legs towards the house, different thoughts haunted my head. How do I break the news to Liam? He barely spared me a glance despite living together with me for four years, I was already a huge burden to him, how much more a child coming from me? I could handle his resentment towards me but not to an innocent child. My head clinked like the location of a band conference as I thought of the best possible solution to my situation. As much as I've made up my mind to keep the baby, I was scared of the outcome as well. Liam would spit in my face if he learned about the pregnancy. What if he denies it and accuses me of infidelity? He might have forgotten the occurrence of his drunk night. My heart skipped a beat as my gaze suddenly landed on him immediately I walked into the house. His palms were hurled into a tight fist as he paced to and fro the living room. He swiftly turned around once he noticed my movement. "Where the hell have you been? I called like a million times!" He gritted. I quickly raised my gaze to his face, unsure of his sudden interest in my whereabouts. "It.. It must have been ringing in my bag, I didn't hear it," I stuttered. "Come with me," he muttered, walking past me and headed out. "Uhm... Where are we going?" I managed to ask. "The hospital, Nichole needs you," I heard a loud bang in my head as his words hit my ear. Nichole? The strange lady he's been making me donate my blood to these past few months? The restaurant was warm, the golden lights casting a cozy glow over the sleek wooden tables. Soft jazz music played in the background, mingling with the murmurs of the other diners, the clinking of silverware against fine china.I sat by the window, stirring my drink absentmindedly as I watched the city move outside. For the first time in what felt like forever, I was alone. No responsibilities pressing on my shoulders, no demands clawing at my time. Just me, a beautifully plated meal, and the illusion of peace.I let out a long sigh, sinking into the plush chair, allowing myself to bask in the moment. Life had been... exhausting. For years, I had been running. Not literally, but emotionally, mentally. Running to fix things, to prove myself, to erase the shadows of the past. And on top of that, I had a daughter now—a beautiful, sweet little girl who meant everything to me. She had Ryan’s piercing eyes, his lips, but my face. Every time I looked at her, it was like seeing pieces of him
Aria's POV. It had been two years since everything changed... since the scandal that turned my world upside down. And then my parents had it fixed. Christie, Josh and I were done with highschool and now in our first year in college. And just like every other day, we were laughing about some stupid class project as we made our way down the sidewalk.Suddenly, my phone tucked in my pocket and I quickly fetched it from my pocket, I didn't recognize the number, but it was an unknown area code, and something about it made my stomach drop.“Hold on, guys,” I said to Christie and Josh before picking the call “Hello?” “Is this Aria Liam's?” a calm voice on the other end asked.“Yes,” I replied, getting confused now. “This is city hall hospital. We need you to come in immediately. Your presence is required.”My mind raced. The urgency in the voice sent a chill down my spine. “What happened? Is everything okay?”“I’m afraid I can’t give you any details over the phone,” she said. “But it’s
Aria's POV.I had never been so relieved to return to school. Two weeks off, two long weeks of hiding away in my room, avoiding the pitying stares from neighbors, and the whispers of strangers who thought they knew everything. But today, today I was going back. I wasn’t going alone either. My parents were walking beside me, I didn’t know exactly what they had planned, but I knew they were going to do something about the scandal. Something that would either make everything better.. or make it worse.I adjusted the strap of my bag, glancing at my parents as we walked through the front gate of the school. Mom was standing tall, shoulders squared, walking with a determined pace. Dad, on the other hand, had his hands jammed deep into his pockets. They looked like the same parents I had known my whole life, though today felt different. They were on a mission. The moment we stepped onto school grounds, I could feel the tension. The eyes. People were still talking about us.. about the scanda
Aria's POV.The moment I broke the hug, a strange sensation crawled through my body. It wasn’t pain, but something that felt like an overwhelming wave, an unsettling force pulling at my insides. My stomach twisted, and a sudden wave of nausea surged up through my chest, catching me off guard. My vision blurred, and I swayed, struggling to keep myself upright. I gripped the edge of the chair, my fingers digging into the hard surface in an attempt to ground myself. But her body wasn’t listening to me. It felt like it had betrayed me, as if it had no control of its own."Hey, Aria, what's wrong?" I heard distant voices but I couldn't make out who they belonged to.My head spun, the room seeming to tilt at an impossible angle. The world around me began to dissolve, the sounds muffled as if underwater. I gasped for air, trying to steady myself, but it was as though the air itself had become thick, too heavy for me to breathe. My chest tightened, and my pulse raced, the noise of my heartbea
Aria's POV.The days dragged on, each one stretching endlessly without Ryan. The grief was a living thing, wrapping around me, suffocating me. I missed him in ways that words could never capture. It wasn’t just his presence; it was the way he made me feel, the way he could make even the worst moments bearable. Now, everything was unbearable.I hadn’t left my room much, only stepping out when my body physically forced me to. I barely ate. I barely slept. When I did sleep, it was restless, haunted by dreams of Ryan... his voice, his touch, his warmth. Only to wake up to the cruel reality that he was gone.Christie and Josh had been my lifeline, visiting almost daily. They would knock, call my name softly, and even if I didn’t answer, they would sit outside my door for hours, talking about everything and nothing at all. I didn’t deserve them, but I needed them. Even if I could barely acknowledge it.It was a week of my suspension today, after spending hours lying in bed, staring blankly
Ryan's POV.It had been days. Days since Ryan had disappeared from my life, leaving nothing but an empty hole where my heart used to be. I could still feel the echoes of his presence, haunting the corners of the house, in the space where his laughter used to ring, in the quiet that used to be filled with his voice. But now, everything felt hollow. I hadn’t heard from him since that video, that live confession. And with every passing moment, the silence grew louder, consuming me more and more until I couldn’t tell where I ended and the emptiness began.I sat on the floor in the far corner of my room, my knees drawn up to my chest, arms wrapped tightly around them as if I could protect myself from the overwhelming emptiness that consumed me. The walls felt like they were closing in. The quiet, the stillness, it suffocated me. My mind wouldn’t let me escape the thoughts of him. Of what he said. Of what he did. Of what he could have done to escape this nightmare. My heart kept trying to
