The day had grown late. Golden rays of sunlight pierced through the apartment window. Jessica stood in the living room, her face tense, clutching her phone tightly. Over and over, she dialed Amora’s number, but it was always in vain.

“Why isn’t it active? Amora… where are you?” she muttered under her breath, pacing anxiously. Her restless fingers kept fidgeting, as though searching for something to hold on to.

“I warned her to come home quickly. Why is she so stubborn?” Jessica grumbled, her voice rising in frustration.

Suddenly—the doorbell rang, loud and insistent, again and again. Jessica blinked in shock, her heart leaping. She rushed forward without hesitation and swung the door open.

“Amora!” Jessica cried in relief, pulling her daughter into a tight embrace.

“Mommy… I’m sorry,” Amora whispered, her breath trembling. “My phone ran out of battery.”

Jessica drew in a deep breath, holding back tears. “It’s all right, sweetheart. As long as you’ve come home safely.”

[Do you think all this evidence is a joke? Or just a warning? I could report your crimes to the authorities at any moment!]The message appeared again on Lucy’s phone, the notification giving a brief vibrate. Her heart immediately hammered. Her fingers trembled violently, almost dropping the phone from her grip. “No... it can’t be...” she murmured, barely audible. Her eyes locked on the screen. The mysterious figure really did know something. About that night. About the secret she had buried deep for years.“Who are you, really?” she whispered, panic rising. Her mind went blank as if unable to think clearly. She swallowed, tried to calm herself, then typed quickly: [If you’re brave enough, meet me right now!]The message sent. It took only a few seconds before the two gray ticks turned blue. Lucy’s breath caught. The person was waiting.[Are you sure you want to meet me?]Lucy replied fast, her hand shaking badly. [Yes, tonight!][Aren’t you afraid I’ll come with the police?]Lucy gri

Ever since losing the flash drive at Vicktor’s house, Lucy had been living in the shadows—unsure who had taken it first, or who had slipped silently among them. That uncertainty lingered like a chill seeping through the cracks of her home—ever-present, unseen, but suffocating.Lucy’s face was pale, her lips trembling as she replayed the video on her phone—one fragment of proof that had appeared before her like a ticking bomb. Too many truths were hidden beneath the surface; once they exploded, everything would collapse.“Calm down, Lucy… just calm down…” she whispered weakly, though her voice betrayed her fear. She closed her eyes, trying to steady her breath. Her mind was racing with wild ideas—she wasn’t the type of woman to surrender easily. I’m clever. I have a thousand ways to silence that person, Lucy told herself, reinforcing her resolve. Fear was there, yes—but she countered it with strategy. With trembling fingers, she pressed the contact number of her hired man. The phone ra

It took less than five minutes for Lucy’s reply to appear on the phone screen.[Who are you? Why is Vicktor with you?]Amora smirked faintly. Her fingers danced over the screen, yet she didn’t rush to respond. Let Lucy wait. Let suspicion slowly eat away at her mind.Moments later, an incoming call appeared. Lucy Caldwell’s name flashed on the screen.Amora merely stared at it, letting it ring until it finally stopped.Another call came. Then a third. Still, Amora ignored them all.Slowly, she began to type her reply.[I’m the one who knows all your secrets.]Not even a minute passed before Lucy’s next message arrived in haste.[Pick up my call!]Amora’s smile widened—a cold, unreadable curve of her lips. She typed one last message.[Including the death of that old man.]Once the message was sent, Amora pressed the power button. The screen went dark. She climbed the stairs leisurely, savouring the echo of her own footsteps in the silent house. When she reached her room, Amora opened t

Amora stared at the computer screen with sharp eyes before her fingers finally pressed the shutdown button. The blue light that had illuminated her face slowly faded, leaving faint shadows across the room lit only by a desk lamp. Without a second thought, she grabbed her phone and opened a contact named Vicktor Caldwell. Her heart pounded fast, but a sly smile had already curled on her lips. The dial tone rang several times before the deep voice of a man finally answered.“Hello, Elisha.” His voice was calm, though tinged with uncertainty, as if he was still unsure whether this call was real.“Good evening, Vick,” Amora greeted softly.“Are you no longer mad at me, El?” Vicktor asked cautiously. “You haven’t answered my calls or messages these past few days.”Amora took a slow breath, trying to sound fragile. “Mad? I’m not mad at you, Vick,” she whispered.Vicktor was silent for a moment. There was a note of relief in his exhale. “Thank goodness. I thought you were still upset.”“No,

"Watch your words! I could report you for defamation!" Amora snapped sharply, her eyes burning with fury as she glared at Lucy."Oh, please," Lucy retorted with a cutting tone, her lips curling into a bitter smile. "Do you really think you still have a good name after daring to flirt with my husband?"Amora let out a short, amused laugh. "Lucy, Lucy... you still have a mirror at home, don’t you?" Her smile turned cold as she looked straight into Lucy’s eyes. "Try looking into it—and see who the real seductress is."Lucy’s face stiffened. "What do you mean by that?" she asked, offended."Don’t think I don’t know your past, Lucy," Amora replied calmly, though her voice sliced like a knife. "You stole Vicktor from his first wife, didn’t you?"Lucy froze. Her hands clenched tightly at her sides, holding back a surge of shame and rage."The homewrecker isn’t me, Lucy," Amora continued, her tone steady and piercing. "It’s you."With that, Amora turned and walked away, leaving Lucy standing

News of Roy’s death spread faster than Lucy had expected. The woman froze in front of her vanity, her fingers trembling as she held her phone, listening to the report from one of her trusted men.“Are you sure?” her voice rose sharply. “Roy is really dead?”“The security officer said the man was found lifeless in his apartment, Madam,” the voice on the other end replied uncertainly. “But… there’s nothing there now. The apartment is empty.”Lucy immediately stood up. “Empty?!” she exclaimed. “How could it be empty if he just died there?”“I don’t know, Madam. There’s no police tape, no officers around. It’s as if nothing ever happened.”Lucy slammed her phone onto the table. Her breathing quickened, and her face flushed with anger.“Damn it!” she hissed, kicking the chair in front of her. “If Roy is dead, what about my plan?!”Her hands clenched tightly, her gaze piercing through her own reflection in the mirror.“I won’t let my husband go back to that cheap girl!” she growled through
