Hailey's hand flew to her mouth as she quickly took a step back. Dylan stood there, his gaze fixed on her, but he wasn't really staring at her. His eyes were hazy and unfocused. Henry noticed and hurried to the door, his heart already pounding with fear. He thought Dylan had been eavesdropping on their conversation. "Dylan, is something wrong?" He asked casually. But when Dylan's expression remained bland, he frowned. "Dylan?" He snapped his fingers under his eyes. "Stop." Hailey hissed, slapping his hand away. "See how unfocused his eyes are?""What about it?""He isn't really awake. He's sleepwalking.""Oh." Henry said in realization, then sighed in relief. "You have no idea how terrified I was a minute ago.""Me too. I thought he heard us."They stared at him for a moment, whispering between themselves. "What do we do with him?"Hailry shrugged. "I don't know. I haven't witnessed his sleepwalking before.""Maybe we should pretend we never saw him." Henry suggested. "Come back
"Awaken Andromeda?" Hailey shrieked. "Are you fucking crazy?""It is the only way." Beowulf was adamant. "If we're going to destroy Dylan completely, we need extra forces. We can't do it on our own.""You've got to be kidding me." Henry snapped. "In the first letter you sent to us, you said taking Dylan down will be easy. You even mentioned some possible ways to kill him. The rogue attack and his cursed form.""Those ways are impossible now." Helgar cut in. "During the last rogue attack, Dylan slaughtered every last one of them. We couldn't even kill the human when we tried. We had to find another way.""But you told us another way." Hailey said. "You said we had to return and join forces. That's the only reason we came back. What's this talk about awakening Andromeda?""The only reason we asked you to come back is to keep him and the human apart. You know this. We can't risk him mating with her.""Didn't the maid tell you there was no mating?" Henry asked. Helgar nodded. "That's rig
TRIGGER WARNING: INCESTAt half past midnight, Henry and Hailey crept out of the mansion and headed into the forest. The sky was completely dark. There were no stars, and the crescent moon only peeked out for a few minutes before disappearing behind a thick plume of clouds. The forest was pitch black, trees creaking softly in the night wind. Dressed in black cloaks, they walked farther away from the pack until they were far enough to speak freely. "Are the elders at the hideout already?" Hailey asked softly. "They are. They sent word back through the maid."“The same maid you fucked?"“Give it a rest, Hailey." Henry rolled his eyes. "I don't even feel anything for her.""You don't feel anything for her, yet you fucked her mouth.""I needed a release. Besides, I regret doing it. No one makes me feel good the way you do."Hailey slapped his hand away when he tried to touch her face, but he pulled her back and pressed her into a tree. "Don't tell me you're still angry," he chuckled
"Dylan, did you really mean what you said earlier?" Hailey asked quietly. She stood beside Dylan as he changed out of his jacket and slipped on an armless, evening vest. Her eyes roamed down his bare arms. There was a time she used to run her fingers over those sexily, contoured muscles. Her nails would scratch over his bare back as he fucked her against the wall, or on top of the desk in his study. He never made love to her in his bedroom though. That was one thing he never did, almost like he was making it known that she was just a fuck mate and nothing more. "What are you talking about?" Dylan's voice broke into her thoughts, pulling her out of her reverie. She focused on him and smiled. "About not leaving Scarlett.""Why are you bothered about that?" "I'm not." She shrugged and came to stand before him. "I just want to be sure. You used to love me, Dylan. Remember?""I never loved you, and you know it." He muttered. "I told you back then that there could never be anything be
Scarlett lay cross-legged on the sofa, immersed in the book she was reading. Beside her was a cup of sweet tea and some cake. The door to the library opened suddenly and Jemimah stepped in. Scarlett frowned. Since Tabitha passed away, Jemimah had become strangely nice, doing all she could to come off as kind and friendly. But all Scarlett saw was a ploy to get closer to her, and it made her suspicious. She didn't trust the maid and until she discovered what really led to Tabitha's death, the only person she would trust was Dylan. "My Lady," Jemimah bowed. "Miss Hailey is requesting to take the free bedroom on the first floor."Scarlett shut the book and straightened. "Why are you telling me this?""The Alpha ordered me to ask for your opinion." Jemimah murmured. "He wants to know if it's okay with you."Scarlett sat up further and lowered the book. "Wait, what bedroom?""The one at the end of the hallway. A few doors after Alpha Dylan's bedroom."Scarlett knew that bedroom. One ti
Hailey sat stiffly beside Dylan, stewing in her own anger. She had just realized that coming into the study with him and Henry was a bad idea. They totally ignored her, catching up and reminiscing about the past. Whenever she tried to cut in and join in the conversation, they talked over her. It got worse when Jordan and Caleb joined them, totally isolating her from the conversation. Bored out of her mind, she did the only thing she was good at. Drawing attention to herself. "So Dylan," she began sweetly. "Tell us when you're going to divorce Scarlett."Dylan's expression hardened the moment he heard her. He slipped his hand out of her grip and pinned her under his fearsome glare. "What the fuck do you mean by that, Hailey?" He snapped. "Oh, come on, don't be mad." She giggled. "It's only natural for me to ask. Remember when we used to be together?""We're not together anymore.""But everyone here knows you married her to break your curse." She continued, failing to notice how h
Dylan lay quietly on the ground, his wolf form blending stealthily with the grasses around him. Scattered behind him were the hunters, also in their wolf forms, crouching low as they stalked a herd of stags grazing a few meters away. Their horns stood out prominently, and once in a while, one wou
The first thing Scarlett saw when she woke up the next morning was a note beside her pillow. She sat up, yawned widely and picked it up. It was folded in two, and it smelled faintly of lavender. |The hunters and I are going for a hunt. I would have told you in person, but I didn't want to disturb
Tabitha had just slipped into the library, holding a tray of snacks, when she realized she had stepped into a private moment. She paused, her eyes widening as Dylan and Scarlett quickly moved apart. "Alpha," she began. "I didn't mean... I'm so sorry. I thought my mistress was alone.""That's alri
After that night, the tension between Scarlett and Dylan lessened over the next few days. He became calmer, more considerate, and less arrogant. Scarlett noticed these changes and she stopped being defiant. The hate they felt for each other was still present, or so they thought, but they weren't
