The sun seemed to have awoken at the same time as I did because the next thing was the sun's rays hitting my face harshly. Usually, Nicola would have been the one to shut the blinds whenever I slept off but with her staying at the quarters which was a fair distance from the main house, it was a hassle altogether for the both of us.

I sprang up annoyed, hissing and cursing Roman under my breath, ready to walk into his room and stab not only his hand to the table but his neck as well. Because why the fuck would he kill Scout? What did Scout ever do?

I dashed out of the room, banging the door and making my way towards the direction of the staircase, when I heard chattering and laughter coming from the kitchen. If there was one thing I noticed in the past few days of being here, it was that none of the guards usually came into the house, probably Roman loved his privacy or something. So I was genuinely curious to know who was allowed into the kitchen.
