Chapter 22

~VITTORIA~

I stood, watching him breathe in and out gently for some time, and turned to walk out of the sitting room. I asked myself why I had even helped him dress his injuries and why I should call the twins just like he had asked.

I hissed, stopping in my tracks, and turned to look at him for a second, with an eye roll, I walked back to where he was. Even if I didn't have any reason to help him, he had saved me and almost got shot by the sniper so I owed him a favor. And I hated owing favors.

I carefully removed his boots and placed his legs on one side of the couch and his head on the other side, tucking some pillows behind it for his comfort. I picked up the phone and looked through his contacts. Cleto's name came first so I just called it.

It rang just twice before he picked up. "Rio, we're pretty much done over here and we got the dude who sliced your arm. Diego is goi-"

"Hold the long talk. I'm not interested." I said into the phone.
