Lilly Riverwood was the daughter of Alpha Mick and Luna Harmony Riverwood. Although she wasn’t the heir to the pack, her elder brother, Luka, was. It never fazed Lilly as she was loved by the whole pack for the most part and wasn’t power-hungry like a lot of other Alpha offspring. She loved to play the violin and became quite good at it. She became very famous in both the human and were-beast societies worldwide. However, despite all the Alpha genes and fame, Lilly was still a very level-headed and well-mannered young lady. So, she was very well respected by all who knew her.
Lilly was tall for a she-wolf at 5 foot 9, not surprising though, being the daughter of an Alpha and a high-ranking one at that, a grizzly bear of a man at 6 foot 5, and that was tall for even a male Alpha, most were only 6 feet at best. Her mother was reasonably tall, being a she-wolf standing at 5 foot 5, so Lilly should have been expected to end up on the taller side. However, most of the she-wolf population was only roughly 5 feet tall, so Lilly and her mother were unusually tall for their kind. Her big brother Luka was now an easy 6 foot tall, and being three and a half years older than her, he was very protective of his one and only sibling. Being a sister sometimes made him overprotective and overbearing of Lilly.
It was easy to say that sometimes she felt smothered by Luka and did her best to stay out of his sight and way while they went to school together. Although there were times when she loved him for it, it could also become quite annoying.
Luka was the guy everyone wanted to be near, especially all the she-wolves, being the Alpha heir, and everyone was hoping that one of them would be his future Luna. It made Lilly gag at the thought that half of the cheer squad, past and present, couldn’t help but throw themselves at her brother. It also did nothing but piss Lilly off, as all of them were madly power-hungry, even though neither her brother nor herself were.
Luka was not just the Alpha heir; however, what most packs unmated she wolfs seen that way, she had also been the captain of the football team, school captain probably by default as it would have been highly unlikely for anyone wanting to run well against the future Alpha, well expect maybe this future Beta Kenyon aka Kenny. The guy who just loved to get under his best friend’s skin. The rest of the future Alpha unit comprised Delta Nicholas, aka Nickie, and Gamma Daniel, aka Dan. However, Delta Nickie and Gamma Dan were younger than Lilly, so they weren’t as close to Luka as Kenny was. Some of the strongest upcoming members of the pack, so everyone knew that the Riverwood pack would be in very safe hands in the future.
On the other hand, Lilly was more of a homebody between her violin practice, school, and studies. She would also help her mother, the pack’s Luna, out at the pack’s preschool. Her mother was a teacher long before she met her mate in her old pack far away in England, known as the Blue Moon Pack. Her parents were the Beta of the pack. She had three elder brothers, so their pack wouldn’t be without a Beta heir, as the titles of the rest of the Alpha unit were handed down to the eldest child unless one of the Alpha pairings was childless for one reason or another. A sibling’s child would be made the heir, or a pack member would be picked by the future Alpha once they were getting close to getting the pack handed over to them. Lilly learned a lot about how other packs were run on her travels, which her mother wanted her to do as she wanted Lilly to become a formidable Luna for her future Alpha and mate. Her mother, Luna Harmony, believed Lilly was mated to an Alpha and would become a Luna to another pack. Lilly already had all the qualities of a great Luna that any Alpha would be proud of having by their side. That much her mother was sure if she had been training her only daughter to carry out Luna's duties for a pack well, no matter what pack she would end up at. Lilly started her Luna training, which her mother had set out for her at a young age. She knew that her mother had high hopes for her, so much so that Lilly’s mother’s hopes and wishes for her became more of a burden for Lilly to bear, one that she had to carry alone, especially if it pleased her parents.
However, while she pleased her parents’ wishes, the only thing that Lilly did for herself was play the violin of her own free will since she had no friends, not that she would have had time for them if she had. Nor did she want fake friends who would only use her to get closer to her brother and heir of the pack. There were a lot of she-bitches, sorry she-wolves, that thought if they got close to Lilly, they’d either become famous themselves or the next Luna of the Riverwood pack, and most of them would only do it to do nothing more than rub into Lilly’s face that she was no more than the spare heir as it was their ultimate goal in life.
"Don't be ridiculous," Amali scoffed, though guilt flickered briefly across her features. "It was an accident. Besides, it's just a violin. She can get another one."The room temperature seemed to drop as Alpha Mick stepped forward, his Alpha authority radiating outward in palpable waves. "That violin was a Riverwood heirloom, passed through five generations. Its value cannot be measured in mere currency."Amali's confidence faltered under her uncle's cold gaze. "I... I didn't know.""You knew," Alpha Blackthorn said unexpectedly, his voice carrying the weight of his own authority. "I myself commented on its historical significance after Lilly's performance."The alliance between the Alphas presented a
"I'm not implying anything," she replied calmly. "I'm stating facts. The mark I saw is associated with only one thing, a triad bond blessed by the Goddess herself." Her eyes were fixed on Lilly. "And given Kenny's very public rejection of Amali, and the way both he and that Blackthorn boy watch you when they think no one's looking...it's not difficult to connect the dots."Lilly felt her heart racing, torn between denial and relief at having someone else who understood. "Emerald, please...""I haven't told Amali," Emerald interrupted, her expression softening slightly. "Or anyone else. But Lilly, a triad bond? At your age? That's... unprecedented.""It wasn't exactly planned," Lilly said quietly, making her decision. Emerald had already figured out too much to be misled by half-truths. "It started to happen the day Axel arrived. The next morning, our wolves started to wake up, making our bond snap into place. We're still trying to understand it ourselves."Luka sighed, recognising the
Amali's smile faltered, her eyes widening slightly at Kenny's direct rejection. The room seemed to still around them, conversations dimming as heads turned toward the unexpected confrontation."Someone else?" Amali repeated, her voice carrying just enough to draw more attention. "You never mentioned anyone specific before. Who is she?"Kenny maintained his composure, though the phantom sensation on his finger pulsed with warning. "That's private," he replied firmly. "All that matters is that my feelings are engaged elsewhere, and it wouldn't be fair to encourage your attention."Lilly kept her expression carefully neutral despite Ruby's surge of protective pride. Beside her, Axel shifted almost imperceptibly closer, a subtle show of support that only she would notice.Amali's eyes narrowed, flicking between Kenny and Lilly with sudden suspicion. "Is it someone here? Someone in this room?""Amali," Emerald interjected smoothly, linking arms with her sister. "This isn't the time or plac
"There's my beautiful daughter," Alpha Mick said warmly as Lilly approached with Luna. "Alpha Ryan, you remember Lilly?""Of course," the Blackthorn Alpha replied with a smile that reminded Lilly strongly of Axel. "Your reputation as a violinist has reached even our pack. My son speaks highly of your talent."Lilly felt a flush of pleasure at the compliment, carefully keeping her eyes from seeking out Axel in the crowd. "Thank you, Alpha Ryan. Your son Axel is too kind."As they entered the dining hall, Lilly was acutely aware of multiple gazes following her, Emerald's curious, Amali's calculating, and somewhere in the crowd, Kenny and Axel's protective. She kept her chin high, moving with the grace her mother had taught her toward her assigned seat.
The Moon Rose on her nightstand pulsed gently, its silver-gold light a comforting presence. Lilly reached out to touch one delicate petal, drawing strength from its warmth."How am I supposed to handle a month of this?" she whispered to the flower. "A month of watching Amali throw herself at Kenny while pretending it doesn't affect me?"The Rose offered no answer, but the phantom sensation on her finger warmed reassuringly. Somewhere in the pack house, Kenny and Axel had returned, their presence a balm to her wolf's distress even from a distance.A soft knock at her door preceded Emerald's entrance. Unlike her sisters, Emerald had always been the kindest of her cousins, though still prone to the family's tendency toward ambition."H
Luna Harmony watched all three with knowing eyes, observing how the music seemed to strengthen the invisible threads binding them together. This was more than just a convenient cover story; music would clearly play a vital role in the development of their bond.As the final notes faded, a silence filled the room, not awkward, but reverent, as if none of them wanted to break the spell that had been cast."That was..." Kenny began, his voice hushed."Incredible," Axel finished for him.Lilly lowered her violin, a slight blush colouring her cheeks. "It's still rough. I haven't figured out the middle section yet.""It's coming along beautifully," Luna Harmony assured her. "Is this the piece you're con
