Lilly Riverwood, daughter of Alpha Mick and Luna Harmony, lives in the shadow of her brother Luka, the heir to the Riverwood werewolf pack. Unlike most Alpha offspring, Lilly isn't power-hungry or interested in pack politics. She's a talented violinist who has gained fame in both human and werewolf societies worldwide. Standing tall at 5'9", Lilly is unusually tall for a she-wolf. She finds herself constantly avoiding her brother's overprotective nature and the scheming she-wolves who try to befriend her solely to get closer to Luka. While her brother enjoys popularity as the Alpha heir and football team captain, Lilly prefers a quieter life focused on her violin, studies, and helping at the pack's preschool. Under her mother's guidance, Lilly has been training to become a future Luna, as her mother believes she's destined to mate with an Alpha from another pack. The only thing Lilly truly does for herself is playing the violin, having no genuine friends except Emma, Rachel, and Mia. Lilly's routine is disrupted when a mysterious new Alpha heir named Axel Blackthorn joins her Advanced Music Theory class. After she performs a violin piece that captivates the class, Axel approaches her and shows interest, kissing her hand in front of everyone. This unexpected gesture sends the school's rumor mill into overdrive. When confronted by Kendra, the self-proclaimed future Luna of the Riverwood Pack, and her posse about Axel's attention, Lilly finally snaps and declares that, unlike them, she doesn't aspire to be someone's Luna—she just wants to be left alone with her violin and her music.
Lihat lebih banyakLilly Riverwood was the daughter of Alpha Mick and Luna Harmony Riverwood. Although she wasn’t the heir to the pack, her elder brother, Luka, was. It never fazed Lilly as she was loved by the whole pack for the most part and wasn’t power-hungry like a lot of other Alpha offspring. She loved to play the violin and became quite good at it. She became very famous in both the human and were-beast societies worldwide. However, despite all the Alpha genes and fame, Lilly was still a very level-headed and well-mannered young lady. So, she was very well respected by all who knew her.
Lilly was tall for a she-wolf at 5 foot 9, not surprising though, being the daughter of an Alpha and a high-ranking one at that, a grizzly bear of a man at 6 foot 5, and that was tall for even a male Alpha, most were only 6 feet at best. Her mother was reasonably tall, being a she-wolf standing at 5 foot 5, so Lilly should have been expected to end up on the taller side. However, most of the she-wolf population was only roughly 5 feet tall, so Lilly and her mother were unusually tall for their kind. Her big brother Luka was now an easy 6 foot tall, and being three and a half years older than her, he was very protective of his one and only sibling. Being a sister sometimes made him overprotective and overbearing of Lilly.
It was easy to say that sometimes she felt smothered by Luka and did her best to stay out of his sight and way while they went to school together. Although there were times when she loved him for it, it could also become quite annoying.
Luka was the guy everyone wanted to be near, especially all the she-wolves, being the Alpha heir, and everyone was hoping that one of them would be his future Luna. It made Lilly gag at the thought that half of the cheer squad, past and present, couldn’t help but throw themselves at her brother. It also did nothing but piss Lilly off, as all of them were madly power-hungry, even though neither her brother nor herself were.
Luka was not just the Alpha heir; however, what most packs unmated she wolfs seen that way, she had also been the captain of the football team, school captain probably by default as it would have been highly unlikely for anyone wanting to run well against the future Alpha, well expect maybe this future Beta Kenyon aka Kenny. The guy who just loved to get under his best friend’s skin. The rest of the future Alpha unit comprised Delta Nicholas, aka Nickie, and Gamma Daniel, aka Dan. However, Delta Nickie and Gamma Dan were younger than Lilly, so they weren’t as close to Luka as Kenny was. Some of the strongest upcoming members of the pack, so everyone knew that the Riverwood pack would be in very safe hands in the future.
On the other hand, Lilly was more of a homebody between her violin practice, school, and studies. She would also help her mother, the pack’s Luna, out at the pack’s preschool. Her mother was a teacher long before she met her mate in her old pack far away in England, known as the Blue Moon Pack. Her parents were the Beta of the pack. She had three elder brothers, so their pack wouldn’t be without a Beta heir, as the titles of the rest of the Alpha unit were handed down to the eldest child unless one of the Alpha pairings was childless for one reason or another. A sibling’s child would be made the heir, or a pack member would be picked by the future Alpha once they were getting close to getting the pack handed over to them. Lilly learned a lot about how other packs were run on her travels, which her mother wanted her to do as she wanted Lilly to become a formidable Luna for her future Alpha and mate. Her mother, Luna Harmony, believed Lilly was mated to an Alpha and would become a Luna to another pack. Lilly already had all the qualities of a great Luna that any Alpha would be proud of having by their side. That much her mother was sure if she had been training her only daughter to carry out Luna's duties for a pack well, no matter what pack she would end up at. Lilly started her Luna training, which her mother had set out for her at a young age. She knew that her mother had high hopes for her, so much so that Lilly’s mother’s hopes and wishes for her became more of a burden for Lilly to bear, one that she had to carry alone, especially if it pleased her parents.
However, while she pleased her parents’ wishes, the only thing that Lilly did for herself was play the violin of her own free will since she had no friends, not that she would have had time for them if she had. Nor did she want fake friends who would only use her to get closer to her brother and heir of the pack. There were a lot of she-bitches, sorry she-wolves, that thought if they got close to Lilly, they’d either become famous themselves or the next Luna of the Riverwood pack, and most of them would only do it to do nothing more than rub into Lilly’s face that she was no more than the spare heir as it was their ultimate goal in life.
"Not just amplify," Lilly corrected thoughtfully. "Transform. Like the violin itself is becoming part of our bond."Axel's expression turned contemplative. "My father mentioned that Anton Bauer is rumoured to have Moon Goddess blood in his lineage. Maybe this instrument was created with some kind of... divine purpose.""A bridge," Lilly repeated her earlier thought. "Between tradition and innovation, between the past and future." She ran her fingers lightly over the violin's unique surface, feeling the perfect transition between wood and resin. "Just like our bond bridges our two packs."The phantom sensation warmed at her words, as if confirming this insight. All three unconsciously touched their ring fingers where the invisible mark pulsed in unison.
"A perfect symbol," Emerald agreed. "And speaking of your bond..." She glanced toward the door before continuing in a lower voice. "Kenny and Axel are pacing in the hallway. I passed them on my way here. They're trying very hard to look casual, but it's obvious they're waiting for news."The phantom sensation warmed with confirmation, and Lilly couldn't suppress a small smile. "They felt my reaction when I first played it. They know something significant happened.""You should tell them," Emerald suggested. "I can create a reason for you all to meet, perhaps in the music room? It would be natural for you to want to practice with your new instrument."Lilly nodded gratefully. "That would be perfect. And it wouldn't raise suspicions, especially with the competiti
Lilly nodded, positioning the instrument under her chin. The fit was perfect, as if made specifically for her. Taking a deep breath, she drew the bow across the strings for the first time. The sound that emerged was pure, rich, and hauntingly beautiful, but also somehow different from any violin she had played before. Where her grandfather's instrument had sung with the voices of generations past, this one seemed to vibrate with possibilities and bridging the new with the future that was yet to come.Lilly continued to play, testing the hybrid violin with a simple scale that evolved into a flowing melody. The instrument responded to her touch as if they'd been partners for years rather than moments. Each note resonated with a clarity that filled the study, drawing everyone present into a reverent silence. As she played, the phantom sensation on her finger pulsed in perfect rhythm with the music. Somewhere in the pack house, Kenny and Axel would be feeling this connection, experiencing
Lilly's eyes widened. "What does that mean?""I'm not sure exactly," Axel admitted. "But if anyone could create an instrument worthy of replacing your grandfather's violin, it would be someone with that kind of heritage."The phantom sensation warmed with sudden intensity, as if confirming his words. Before Lilly could respond, Emma and Rachel appeared around the bend, arms full of colourful leaves."We're making autumn crowns!" Emma announced cheerfully. "Come help, Lilly!"With a small smile, Lilly rose from the log, exchanging a meaningful glance with Axel before joining her friends. The phantom sensation remained warm and steady, a constant reminder of the bond that connected her to Kenny and Axel even as they maintained their c
Luka's face fell, but he quickly rallied. "I'm sorry, Lil. But the picnic is still on if you're willing. Everyone's waiting by the cars."Lilly hesitated, glancing toward her mother. The thought of socialising seemed exhausting, yet the alternative, sitting alone in her room, dwelling on her loss, seemed worse."Go," Luna encouraged gently. "Fresh air and friends will do you good. Alpha Blackthorn said the photographs from Vienna should arrive by email this afternoon. We can review them when you return."With a reluctant nod, Lilly followed Luka to where their friends were gathered. Kenny and Axel stood slightly apart from the others, their postures relaxed, but their eyes immediately finding hers as she approached. The phantom sensation warmed with their proximity.
"She'll be accompanying us to Master Johannes's workshop, as part of her... restitution."Dressing quickly in a simple blue dress, Lilly prepared herself for the difficult day ahead. The phantom sensation strengthened briefly, suggesting Kenny that Luka, Axel, Emma, Rachel and Mia enjoy them for a picnic by the lake to help take Lilly’s mind off what happened until a replacement violin arrived.Lilly hesitated, her fingers hovering over the carefully wrapped bundle containing the shattered remains of her beloved violin. The thought of a picnic by the lake seemed both appealing and impossible, how could she enjoy herself when her musical voice had been silenced so cruelly?"A picnic might be good for you," Luna Harmony suggested gently, noting her daughter's indecision. "After we visit Master Johannes, of co
