“Not like my brother wouldn’t have told you anyway. I’m guessing that you, too, have questions for me. Why not go ahead?” she said.
Kenyon looked at her as if he didn’t know what to say, especially now that she had called him out.
That’s when a booming voice came out of nowhere and could only belong to no other than her father, Alpha Mick, who broke the silence and tension that was going on between them.
“Come on, you two, it’s time for dinner,” Alpha Mick’s voice boomed once more.
“Coming, Daddy,” Lilly sang out, turning to pick up her violin case. She told Kenny, “Well, you can ask me later when you work out what it is you want to ask me, but in the meantime, we need to head back to the dining hall.”
With that, Lilly took her violin case into her arms, hugging it like it was her only friend. This was how she probably felt most days, but even more today.
Lilly and Kenyon walked side by side towards the dining hall, an awkward silence hanging between them. As they entered, the chatter of pack members filled the air, but Lilly could still feel the weight of curious glances directed her way.
At the head of the long table sat her father, Alpha Mick, his imposing figure commanding respect even in this casual setting. Her mother, Luna Harmony, sat beside him, her gentle smile contrasting her mate's stern expression.
Lilly took her usual seat next to her brother while Kenyon moved to sit on Luka's other side. Lilly could feel her father's gaze as the food was served.
"So, Lilly," Alpha Mick began, his deep voice cutting through the dinner conversation. "I hear we had a visitor at school today. An Alpha in training from another pack?"
Lilly replied, “Yeah, we did. His name is Alpha Axel Blackthorn. He seems alright and was impressed by my violin-playing skills.”
Lilly had done her best to keep the conversation as casual as possible. Her mind and body were still in turmoil, and she didn’t feel like playing another round of 20 questions, especially with her father.
Just then, a familiar voice she had gotten to know today came from behind her mother, Luna Harmony. The voice made both her brother Luka and Kenny look up. Yup, it was Axel, and now more than ever, Lilly wanted to crawl away and hide in the peace of her room.
Lilly's heart skipped a beat as she heard Axel's voice behind her. She turned to see him standing there, looking every bit the powerful Alpha he was, yet somehow managing to appear both confident and respectful in the presence of her father.
"Good evening, Alpha Mick, Luna Harmony," Axel said, bowing his head slightly. "I apologise for the intrusion, but I wanted to thank you for your hospitality in allowing me to visit your pack and school."
Alpha Mick stood, his imposing figure towering over the table. "Alpha Axel," he acknowledged with a nod. "We welcome you to our pack. Please, join us for dinner."
As Axel sat across from Lilly, she could feel the energy in the room shift. The other pack members were watching intently, curious about this visiting Alpha, who seemed to have caught their attention. The mood changed when Alpha Axel sat with the pack leaders at the head table. It wasn’t very unusual for a visiting Alpha to join them, but pack members turned to their pups, asking them questions regarding the matter, and that’s when the whispering and random stares aimed at Lilly began. How quickly people's options can change at a moment’s notice.
Kenny became noticeably uncomfortable and began pushing his food around his plate, which was very much out of his charter, as he was usually the first to finish and look for seconds.
Also, to make matters worse, the she-bitches, Kendra and her besties, are on their way to top it all off.
Lilly felt her stomach tighten as Kendra and her friends approached the table. The last thing she needed was more drama, especially in front of her parents and Axel.
"Alpha Mick, Luna Harmony," Kendra said sweetly, her voice dripping with false respect. "We just wanted to congratulate Lilly on her amazing performance in music class today. And to welcome our distinguished visitor, of course."
Lilly could feel Axel's eyes on her, but she kept her gaze fixed on her plate, pushing her food around as Kenny did.
"Thank you, Kendra," Luna Harmony replied, her tone polite but with an underlying note of suspicion. "That's very kind of you to say."
Alpha Mick's eyes narrowed slightly, sensing the tension. "Yes, well, we're proud of Lilly's accomplishments. We’ve already enjoyed seeing her performance as Mr. Song so kindly recorded it. Unsurprisingly, she played so elegantly this morning as she has been preparing for the world violinist championships.
‘Shit, so he probably already seen Axel kiss my hand as well. I doubt Mr. Song remembered to stop recording shortly after I stopped playing. Fuck,’ Lilly thought to herself.
Thinking that she had won, Kendra turned her attention to Luka.
“Luka, what do you make of all this? After your sister’s performance today, she stole the limelight from you,” trying to pretend she was sweet as honey.
Luka saw right through him and replied, “Why should that bother me? It was nice to have at least a few minutes of peace. Now I know why my sister likes to stay as far away from it as possible. Besides, she earned it, so just like every other time she has won a competition, it was from her hard work, not just because she’s an Alpha’s daughter.”
Kendra's smile faltered momentarily, caught off guard by Luka's response. She quickly regained her composure, but the damage was done. The other pack members at nearby tables had overheard, and whispers began to spread.
Axel, who had been quietly observing the exchange, spoke up. "I must say, the talent in this pack is truly impressive. Not only is Lilly an exceptional violinist, but I've heard great things about your leadership, Luka. It's clear that both of you have inherited your parents' strength and wisdom."
As they parted ways, each of them knowing that with Kendra on their tails it was only going to complicate things even more. They would have to speak to their fathers about this. The first few classes flew by with little to no further complications, so far and for the moment Kendra hadn’t done anything with the information regarding Lilly and her seemly love triangle. However Luka new Kandra well enough that it was going to come out after she stewed on it on how best to use it. As Kendra is like a dog with a new chew toy and was most likely to use the information right when they least expect it.As lunchtime approached, Kenny and Axel found themselves growing increasingly anxious. They hadn't seen Lilly since the morning incident, and their wolves were becoming more agitated with each passing hour. The cafeteria buzzed with the usual lunchtime chatter as they entered, their eyes immediately scanning the room for any sign of Lilly. They spotted her sitting at a corner table with Emma, h
As Lilly stormed off with Emma in tow, Kenny, Axel, and Luka were left standing in the hallway, the lingering scent of Lilly's distress and confusion hanging heavy in the air. Kenny's wolf whined pitifully within him, urging him to follow her, to explain everything and soothe her worries. Axel's fists clenched at his sides, his own wolf pacing restlessly beneath his skin.Luka ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident in his voice. "This is getting complicated fast. We need to find a way to ease her into this without overwhelming her.""Easier said than done," Axel muttered, his eyes still fixed on the direction Lilly had disappeared. "Our wolves are getting harder to control with each passing moment."Kenny nodded in agreement, his voice strained. "I don’t know how much more of the I can take man.”And just like clock work here came Kendra, she was often either late to class or skipped it completely.Kendra sauntered down the hallway, her eyes gleaming with interest as she too
Kenny swallowed hard, fight the strong urge to reach out and touch her hand to let their bond calm the turmoil that was bubbling away inside her, and it seemed like Axel was fighting the same battle.Just then, a commotion near the entrance of the dinning hall. Kenny couldn’t help but roll his eyes it was his younger brother Ieuan Elmer Cullimore in yet another fight. The sudden commotion drew everyone's attention away from the tense conversation at the table. Ieuan Elmer Cullimore, Kenny's younger brother, was engaged in a heated argument with another pack member, their voices rising above the general chatter of the dining hall."You take that back!" Ieuan shouted, his fists clenched at his sides.Kenny sighed, torn between relief at the distraction and exasperation at his brother's behavior. He stood up, ready to intervene, but Luka beat him to it."I've got this," Luka said, his voice carrying the authority of the future Alpha. He strode towards the escalating conflict, leaving Ken
Luka's eyes widened, realization dawning on his face. "You mean... along with their mating bonds? But Lilly's not of age yet."Alpha Mick nodded gravely. "The Moon Goddess works in mysterious ways. It seems she's chosen to accelerate things for a reason we don't yet understand."Kenny and Axel exchanged glances, a mixture of excitement and apprehension coursing through them. Their wolves stirred restlessly beneath their skin, more awake and alert than ever before."What do we do now?" Kenny asked, his voice trembling slightly.Alpha Mick stood up, his presence filling the room. "For now, we proceed with caution. We can't force this on Lilly - she needs to come to terms with it in her own time. But we must be vigilant. If the Moon Goddess has shown you these visions now nature must take its course.”“But why did I have a similar dream to them, I’m her brother not her mate?” Luka spoke up.Alpha Mick turned to his son, his expression softening slightly. "Luka, as her brother and future
Lilly nodded, her eyes darting between Kenny and Axel. "As well as can be expected," she replied softly, her fingers tightening around the strap of her violin case. "And you?"Axel stepped forward, his eyes never leaving Lilly's face. "It was... an interesting night," he said, his tone measured. "I had something on my mind after my conversation with my father last night at dinner.” He recovered; it was a lie, but it was the best he could come up with in the heat of the moment.Lilly's brow furrowed slightly at Axel's words. She could sense there was more to his statement than he was letting on, but she didn't press the issue. Instead, she nodded, her eyes flickering between the two boys with a mixture of curiosity and confusion."Well, I hope everything's alright," she said softly, her voice laced with genuine concern.Kenny shifted uncomfortably, feeling the weight of unspoken words hanging in the air. He wanted to tell Lilly about his dream, about the fields of Moon Roses and the wa
The morning came to soon for all those involved, especially those whom had dreams of the fields of Moon Rose twinkling in the moonlight.Lilly woke up first which wasn’t unusual but would normal go around her morning route of making sure she had everything ready for school, find clean clothes for the day, clean her violin and add resin to her bow. Just as she has done from a small pup. At the very least, this made her feel more comfortable going about and doing her usual to-do list, ticking off things as she went. Lilly was on auto polit this morning just going about her business just so that her wolf who had been playing up all night stayed calm throughout the day just so she could play her music undisturbed later in the afternoon. On the other hand, Kenny and Axel were still very much asleep. However, their sleep was just as restless as Lilly’s, but for them, it was dreaming of the day that she would know who they were to her. It was similar to her dream but not quite the same.Out
