The first time Lily laughed in the castle, it startled everyone.

Including her.

It happened in the training yard, just after sunrise. Frost still clung to the stone tiles, and her breath came out in pale clouds as she tried — and failed — for the fifth time to disarm one of Luke’s captains.

The man had stepped aside at the last second, and Lily had stumbled forward, nearly colliding into a rack of wooden practice spears.

The captain froze, horrified.

Luke, standing across the yard, simply

Luke stopped walking. The white doorway remained open.Beyond it stood a man.A man with his face. His eyes. His hair. His voice. But something was different. The stranger looked older. Not by years.By experience. His face carried the same exhaustion as the older Lily's.The same unbearable weight.Lily stood completely still."No."The stranger smiled sadly."That's what she said too."Luke's heart hammered. He stepped in front of Lily."Who are you?"The stranger looked at him."That's complicated."Luke's patience disappeared."Try me."The stranger laughed softly."Still impatient."Luke froze."You know me.""I know every version of you that reached this point."The words made Lily step closer."Every version?"The stranger nodded."Not every universe had a Luke."He looked toward her."But every universe where you existed..."His expression softened."...you eventually found each other."Lily stared at him."Why?"The stranger didn't answer.Instead, he walked toward them.Luke

The door slammed shut behind them.---Luke immediately turned."Lily?""I'm here."Her voice came from directly beside him.He reached out and found her hand.Warm.Real.For a moment, that was enough. Then they looked ahead. And Luke forgot how to breathe. The hallway stretched farther than anything he had ever seen. There were no walls. No ceiling. No floor.Only darkness filled with floating memories.Millions of them.Perhaps billions. Each memory existed inside a small sphere of light. Some were bright. Some were dim. Some were almost completely dark.Luke reached toward one.Lily grabbed his wrist."Don't."He looked at her."Why?""I don't know."She glanced around."But this place feels like it knows what we're thinking."Luke slowly lowered his hand. That was probably wise.A voice echoed through the hallway. Not the Keeper. Not the older Lily.A child's voice."Are you lost?"Luke froze.Lily looked around."Hello?"A small figure appeared at the end of the corridor.A litt

The hand remained pressed against the highest window.Luke couldn't move.Neither could Lily. The entire lighthouse seemed to hold its breath. Then the voice spoke again.«"The thirteenth story has reached my door."»The words rolled through the black sea.«"Now let us discover whether it ends differently."»Luke tightened his grip around Lily's hand."Who are you?"The shadow behind the window didn't answer immediately.Instead, the hand slowly disappeared. The highest window went dark. Then, every other window followed.One.Two.Three.Four.Until the entire lighthouse became completely black. The older Lily stepped backward."Don't speak to it."Luke frowned."Why?""Because it listens.""To what?""Everything."The black sea suddenly moved.A massive wave rose behind them.Lily gasped. The wave didn't crash. It simply stopped.Suspended in the air.Every droplet became a tiny window. And inside every window—A memory.Millions of them.Billions.Entire lives.Luke saw himself. No

The shoreline fell silent.Even the endless black sea seemed to hold its breath. The young woman stood in the doorway of the lighthouse, tears glistening in her blue eyes. She looked exactly like Lily. Not almost. Not enough to be mistaken.Exactly.The only differences were subtle. She looked a few years older. There was a quiet confidence in the way she stood. And behind her smile rested a sorrow so ancient that Luke couldn't imagine carrying it.Lily stared without blinking."...Who are you?"The woman smiled gently."I've had many names."She took another step from the doorway."But once..."Her eyes softened."...I was called Lily."Luke instinctively stepped farther in front of Lily."No."His voice echoed across the empty shore."You're not her."The woman nodded."I know."She looked at the Lily beside him."And she's not me."A breeze swept across the sea, though no wind had existed moments before.Tiny lights drifted around the lighthouse. Not stars.Memories.Each one conta

The words lingered in the air."It's time."The voice was unmistakable.Lily's.Not similar. Not close.Exactly the same.Every inflection.Every breath.Every pause.Luke looked at Lily immediately. She hadn't spoken. Her lips were slightly parted. Her face had gone completely pale."I..."She swallowed."I didn't say that.""I know."Luke stepped between her and the open doorway without thinking.Pure instinct. The black sea surrounding the Lighthouse became unnaturally still. Not a single wave moved. The silence pressed against them.Watching.Waiting.The grieving being refused to look at the doorway.Instead, it stared at the ground. As if making eye contact with whatever waited inside would be a mistake.Mira finally managed to move. One cautious step forward."No..."Her voice trembled."It shouldn't be open."Luke frowned."You've seen it before?"Mira nodded."Every cycle."She closed her eyes briefly."It was always closed."A long pause."No matter what happened.""The door

Luke nearly fell.Lily caught him before he hit the floor. The contact snapped him back to reality. The observatory returned. The stars returned. The Lighthouse remained.Five glowing windows burning in the distance. And yet the vision refused to leave him.The blonde woman. The dead universe. The tears in her eyes. The desperate warning.Don't let me go alone.Luke's breathing became uneven."Luke."Lily's voice sounded distant. Then, closer."Luke!"He blinked. The room swam back into focus.Everyone was staring at him.Concern.Fear.Confusion.The awakened network pulsed softly."Cognitive disturbance detected.""Thank you," Luke muttered. The network ignored him.Lily crouched beside him."What happened?"For a moment, he considered lying. Then, I looked toward the lighthouse.Toward the glowing windows.Toward the impossible tower waking beyond reality. And knew that keeping secrets was becoming increasingly pointless."I saw someone."The room immediately became silent.Mira st
