Chapter 3

Keeion's POV

When I handed her the bracelet, she immediately stared at it. She became interested in that bracelet because she probably thought that the bracelet would help bring back her memory.

She touched the engraved word there several times.

"Ellie," she read it. "Is this really mine? Is my true name Ellie?"

I glanced at her. Her eyes spoke as she looked up and stared at me.  Among the three of us, me, Tedson and Arya who are here, I am the only one who can answer all her questions. That is also my instruction to them, not to let the woman in front of us know what happened to her unless I'm the one who will answer her.

"I already told you, that's your bracelet."

She's not just only complaining, she was also naughty. I told her twice that the bracelet belonged to her but she still didn't seem to believe it.

If she repeated her question, I would not hesitate to take her bracelet back. My patience is short. I didn’t want to answer her repeated question. That's just a waste of time!

From Manila, it took almost 8 hours to get here to answer her questions. She's bothering me so much.

"How do you get this bracelet?" She is still confused.

"The Doctor gave that to me when you were rushed to the hospital. That's the only thing you can use to find out your identity. All your belongings were burned including the car you rode in that night," I explained.

I know this is what she wants to know. She wanted to know and be enlightened about what had happened to her. Why is she now lying in bed with wounds and even lost her memory.

Now, all her questions will be answered.

Her forehead furrowed. "Car?"

"Yes. It was a car accident," I simply answered.

I started telling her everything.

I was on my way home from the office when I saw the car she was riding that collided with a large tree on the side of the highway. No one was passing through the area so no one else saw and immediately helped her. The back of the car was on fire when I saw her, she was obviously badly hit in that accident. Because I'm the only person there, I don't have a choice, but to help her.

I pulled her out of the car before it finally caught fire. She was unconscious at that time and almost lost blood. Her whole face was almost covered by her own blood. Her head was the most affected, probably because it hit the steering wheel. Her body was almost stuck there as well so I had a hard time picking her up. Fortunately, she has a slim body so I found a way and easily got her out of that fvcking car. I wasted no time in rescuing her because the car she was riding in was almost on fire.

Only the bracelet was recovered because she was wearing it. The Doctor gave it to me when I rushed her to the nearest hospital. At the same time, I called the police about the accident. I'd better let them know right away because I might be blamed for what happened when in fact, I just helped her.

I took care of everything myself because I had no one else to call. I was in the hospital overnight until she was transferred to a private room. She also stayed in the hospital for 3 days and I requested that she be transferred to the hacienda to be closely monitored. We have our own family Doctor so there has been no problem with the process.

She was silent for a few seconds. Her brain processes everything I say. She already gets the answers to each of her questions.

"Is that why I don't remember anything because my head was hit so hard?"

"Yeah," I nodded. "It was a memory loss resulting from a hard blow to your head because of a car accident."

She gulped. "How long is it supposed to be? When will all my memories come back?"

"If I'm not mistaken, almost one year," I replied.

That’s also what the Doctor told me. This type of amnesia lasts for about a year. It can still be done if the recovery is fast.

"No way! That's too long," she complained.

She started to growl again. But even though her face was irritated and she was an a****n when she spoke, I couldn't help but to admire her beauty.

She got a lot of scars on her face, but that was not enough reason for her angelic appearance not to appear.  I realized that she is still beautiful even though there are many scars on her face. What if those scars gradually disappear? She will be even more beautiful.

She has a heart-shaped face, dark brown eyes, small nose and reddish lips. She also has a fair skin and slim body type. She's indeed beautiful.

"How am I now? How am I now that I don't remember anything? Those memories of mine are gone." She sobbed.

I averted my eyes from her because I knew it was going to be a drama. This is often the scene of a patient who has lost her memory. It seems like you have completely lost your memory and that there is no possibility of getting everything back.

I left in front of her and went straight to the sofa that was there. I sat on the single sofa. "You're overreacting," I started. "It's just a short-term memory loss. You can dramatize us when your memory is completely gone," I said.

Tedson and Arya followed me. The two sat on the long sofa just next to me. They just kept listening because they were afraid to join the conversation especially since I didn't give them permission to speak.

They know how to obey my rules.

"You know, you're ruining the moment! I just want to dramatize so I can feel my condition." She rolled her eyes. "Because you're obviously always serious. Maybe you don't know how to smile, am I right?"

I heard Tedson laugh softly at what the woman said so I immediately glared at him. He immediately fell silent because I cast a bad look at him.

"I don't want to waste my time on your immature moves, Miss. I'm here to answer all your questions. Just tell me if you have nothing more to ask because I still have a lot to do. You don't know how bothered I am because I helped you. "

She caught my eye.

She's the only one who can do that to me. Everyone doesn't have the courage to look at me with a look like she's giving to me. The others almost fold when I meet them, what more if I stare at them with my sharp gaze? But this woman? I don’t know where she gets the guts.

She didn't know the person she was shooting a bad look at.

I have never forgotten the words she said to me earlier. About her intention to slap me and now, she glared at me and even retorted. She was already scolding me.

"Why? Who told you to help me, huh? Did I tell you? No, didn't I? It's your choice so I don't care if I bother you now."

My jaw tightened as she answered. I just didn’t let her notice it and I just stayed calm.

But Arya, she almost talked to the woman and requested to stop answering me in a negative way. Arya knows what I can do when I lose my patience.

"Instead of thanking me now, you have an appetite to act badly towards me." I chuckled. "I wish I had just left you there with your burning car."

If I hadn't been in that place and I hadn't seen her, she would probably be in mourning now. If I had left her there, maybe it would have been reported that a woman had collided and unfortunately, lost her life.

I didn’t lose sight of her so I noticed she was a bit conscientious. But she was still more assertive about being a complainant. "Why should I be grateful, you still haven't helped me completely. This help is still lacking. I'll thank you later when I get the help I want from you."

Is her face as thick as a dictionary? She was really eager to ask for help.

Isn't it enough that I saved her life, treated her and let her stay here in our mansion? Does she still want to ask for help from me?

Really, huh?

"You don't have a thick face, do you?" I asked bluntly.

But instead of being ashamed of what I said, she gave me a smirk. I don't know if she's annoying me or she's just really sloppy.

"You've already helped me so I'll take advantage of it. I just want one more help. After that, I won't bother you anymore."

I didn’t hesitate to ask what more help she wanted to ask for. "What is it?"

"Help me to know my family background. I can't leave here if I don't know where my family is. They are also the only ones who have the ability to bring back my lost memories, they will remind me of my personality." There was a look on her face that she was seriously begging me.

I could not speak immediately.

She wanted to know her personal background. Through that, she will know everything about her life. Everything will come back. Everything that had happened before would come back to her mind.

Tedson sneezed causing me to go back to trance. My deepest thoughts were erased.

I took a deep breath then averted my eyes. "I already hired a private investigator. He will investigate your background information so you don't have to worry about that. I'll take care of that."

"Good because I don't want to stay here with you," she said.

She always speaks frankly. She would say everything she wanted to say. She doesn't even think about every word she utters if she can hurt others because of her unbridled mouth.

I wanted to take the woman away, but I didn't continue when Aunt Cora entered the room. She was carrying a tray with only food and drinks. Arya immediately lends a hand to help Aunt Cora.

Aunt Cora is already old so Arya is always there to help. Arya treats the old woman like a mother because Aunt Cora almost raised Arya. Dad found Arya in a vacant lot near the hacienda when she was a baby. My Dad also immediately searched for Arya's parents but he did not return it to them because Arya's parents admitted that they could not give their daughter a life that she deserves. That is why our family just adopted Arya, raised her and let her study. The help that Dad gave her was not wasted because Arya faithfully served us.

Arya works here at the hacienda, like Aunt Cora who has been serving the Ruiz family for almost 40 years.

Even though they were servants, we didn’t make them feel different from us. Aunt Cora is very close to me. She has taken care of me since childhood because I was orphaned early by Mother because she passed away due to blood cancer.

"Have a snack first," Aunt said when Arya set the tray down on the glass table between us.

Tedson immediately grabbed the food. When it comes to food, he is always in the lead. He will not allow himself not to be the first and he will be angry if he runs out of food.

"I hope you choke," Arya whispered just enough for me to hear because she was on my left side next to Aunt Cora.

I ignored the snack that Aunt served because I was still full.

I turned my gaze to Ellie who was planning to lie down.

"What will you do?" I asked her.

The three next to me were already paying close attention to the woman.

"Sleep?" its questionable answer.

I smirked. "Who gave you permission that you can sleep now?"

She raised her eyebrow again. "Oh my gosh! Don't tell me that even my sleep is controlled by you?"

"Yeah," I calmly answered. "You are here in my territory so you know how to obey all my commands. You need my permission for every move you make."

She rolled her eyes and ignored the killer look I was giving. "If you don't let me sleep, what do you want me to do? Duh, I'm still lying here in bed so don't order me first."

"I just wanted to let you know what the deal is for everything I've done for you since you've been here."

She was too peevish to favor her with everything she wanted.

Nothing is free now.

My money and time were also wasted because of her.

"Well, I'm not going to wonder why I have to pay for all this. It's not obvious on your face that you're helping without asking for compensation." The second time, looked at me badly. "Tell me, how can I pay you, Señorito Keeion?"

I smiled, a little one. "You will work with me. You'll be my new personal assistant."
