By the time I got back to the student council office, I was already dreading another round of tasks or meetings. My feet were tired, my brain a little fried, and to be honest, I was still recovering from the unexpected lunch with Gabriel and Jason's sudden appearance.

As I stepped inside, the familiar scent of paper, coffee, and air conditioning hit me. Ethan was standing by the table while flipping through a thick folder of documents.

"You're late, omega,” Ethan said without looking up, but there was no real bite to it. Just Ethan being Ethan.

I gave him a tired smile. "I wasn't told there was a time."

Before he could respond, Jason plopped into one of the chairs like he owned the place. He leaned back, propping his legs on the table.

"Well, look who's still pretending to be human," Jason teased while tossing an orange he probably swiped from the pantry. "Relax for a bit, bro. Take a breather. We should go on vacation before summer camp starts. Bring Sarah, too."
