After a particularly steamy shower and getting dressed, I started to walk downstairs and stopped at Calista’s door. I heard Linden talking with Calista. She was sobbing as she asked, “Do you have to go?” Linden replied, “I miss my dad, little one. I know you know how that feels.” Calista sobbed, “I do. You’re lucky you can go back to him. I’m lucky I have a mom and dad now who love me just as much they did.” I put my hand over my mouth as tears formed in my eyes as Linden continued, “I can come back to visit any time. All you have to do is use the family mind link. Just tell me.” She smiled, “Okay. I can do that.”

I chose this moment to peek my head in, “Are you okay, sweetie?” She smiled with a tear still lingering in her eye, “I’m okay. I know he needs to go home, but I wish this was his home.” I sat on her bed and put her on my lap, “I know, sweetie. He will come back occasionally. We might even get to video call with him, and you know he’ll be here for your birthday part
