"Shoot," Kaname looks back up at me.
"Does Kami know anything about our brother?"
"I'd hope not,"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Kami is...how should I put this" Kaname leans back but doesn't close his eyes.
"A hothead?" I finish his sentence.
"Well yeah but in this case, I would say unpredictable. Remember when Father first told us about him?"
"Yeah, Mom cried for hours," The memory of my devasted mother flashed through my mind. I couldn't even imagine the pain she felt.
"Yeah, I remember that too but do you remember what Kami said? Think about that for a bit."
I tried to remember what Kami's words were but all I could remember was my Mother's sobs.
"Uh, Kaname?"
"She said another obstacle" Kaname sat up "At 10 years old, Kami had thought about us as nothing more than obstacles."
"She really said that about him?"
"Yes, Father was taken aback at her statement but he ignored it to tend to Mom. That wasn't what concerned me most though." Kaname gave me a look of sympathy.
"What concerns you most?" I could feel a knot in my stomach forming.
"What concerns me most is how far she's willing to go to lead this war. She already has the drive to get rid of anything in her way."
"Kaname now is not-"
"Karma I'm serious, and I've decided to leave the battlefield too,"
"Seriously why?"
"I don't trust Kami," I knew that for quite some time that Kaname was wary of Kami. His power activates on contact so whenever Kami touches him he tenses up.
"Kaname you know you can't leave the battlefield. Father is going to be upset, you know he's been trying to keep up a united front for the QPs."
"I'm going to see if dinner is ready," Kaname gets up from the bed and walks over to the door.
"Kaname, don't ignore me," He walks out of the room, closing the door behind him. I sigh and lay down on my bed. The sun is setting, the orange glow seeps into my room. I've always hated the setting sun, although it looks beautiful to most people it only reminds me of my childhood in my Father's house.
My mother's and father's house were two complete opposites; one was a dream and the other a nightmare. As kids, Kaname was kind to me until we were 11, Kami had always pushed me around and make me do things and if I didn't she would punish me. The sunset reminds me of the first punishment she ever gave me.
...
"K, get me some candy from the store," Kami said as she watched tv.
"I can't, I have to finish my math or Asagi will get upset with me,"
"Karma go get me my candy now," Kami said getting angry.
"I'm not going Kami, get it yourself," I said getting fed up with her attitude, she was always like this but I was getting tired of it.
"Then at least teleport me there,"
"No, to bring you back I'd have to come with you,"
"Are you disobeying me Karma, your older sister?" Kami slams her hands on the table.
"You're only older by 10 seconds, the doctors could've picked you up solely because they wanted to get the fat one out of the way," I said as I stuck out my tongue at her.
"Take that back and go to the store!"
"Kaname can you come here please, I'm stuck on my multiplication," I took my paper and got up but Kami grabbed my wrist.
"I'll show you what happens when you disobey me," I looked at Kami and her eyes went from a bright blue to ice blue. I tried to break free from her grasp but she held onto me tight, I had run out of options and stabbed her with my pencil. When she let go, I made a run for it to look for Kaname.
"Oh no you don't," Kami ran after me, she almost had caught up with me but I teleported in time. I wasn't thinking about where I was going so I ended up in Father's study. I thought I was safe until a bright pink mark illuminated on my hand.
"Found you," Kami grabbed me and pulled me out of the study by my hair. "There's nothing I hate more than a disobedient servant," Kami yelled at me.
"Owww, Kami let gooooo,"
"Stop squirming"
"Takeda Kamiya, let me go" I open up a portal under both of us and teleport us into Kaname's room. We land on top of his bed and him.
"Ow, what are you guys doing?" Kaname pushed both of us off the bed.
"Kami's trying to hurt me again,"
"Again," Kaname said irritated, "Kami, leave Karma alone,"
"Fine," Kami got up and walked out of the room, I sat on Kaname's room floor shocked.
"Is that all it took?"
"I hope so, you better get to bed the sun's about to go down,"
"Okay bye Kaname and thank you," I had got ready for bed and laid down under the comforter. As I drifted off to sleep, someone opened my door I assumed that it was Father making sure I was asleep. I was yanked out of my bed and dragged into the basement.
"Let this be a lesson to you, don't ever think you could go against someone with more power," Kami slowly closes the door.
"Kami, please don't do this I'm sorry I'll never disobey you again, I promise," The basement was a very dark place, except before the sunset's orange seeps through the window.
I spent every night down there for a month, I had become very ill due to the conditions of being in the basement every night. When Father found out about it Kami had claimed that I only slept in the basement Because I like it down there, when it came to her word against mine, I had lost. While recovering at home with Father's personal doctor watching over me, Kami told me one last thing.
"Never defy me again,"
"In Kami's absence, Karma you'll need to stop this senseless search and help out on the frontlines," Father said. "No," I said. "What did you say to me?" Father said he looked really mad. "I said no, I'm not giving up what I want because you tell me to. I'm done doing your dirty work, if you want something done do it yourself. All you ever really do is sit up in your office and make me, Kami, and Kaname do you're bidding, hell if I'm going to do that. I'll go on the frontlines whenever I want to go," I said as I walked out of the room, noticing Kaname had his hand over his mouth trying to contain his laughter. “So what are you going to do now, Father? Your best fighter has tapped out and now you’ve got to deal with a teenage rebellion,” Kaname teased. “Of all the times, why now do they pull this shit? Guess it’s your time Kaname,” “Yeah, no thanks,” “What!?”“I could’ve settled for at least second best but third time isn’t always the charm pops,” Kanam
Sinn is nowhere near my name but I was given it because that's what I was called, I don't even remember what my real name was."Another round!" a customer yelled at me as I was cleaning glasses. By day, I'm just a bartender but during the night I was a murderer. Of course, murder is wrong but honestly, some people do deserve it, well that's my mentality at least. While I was making the customer's drink I heard him talking to another person."Did you hear? The serial murderer has been attacking this area lately?" the man said to the other."What? But why?""Does a mass murderer need a reason to murder?""I heard every person he killed had at least committed an offence punishable by death but of course managed to get out," a woman chimed into the conversation. I know this woman, she's in the bar every night till closing and even then she'd stick around. She just so happens to be a cop I believe she's suspicious of me."So
"What do you want now?" Axel said looking at both Gem and Sinn, "If this is about the girl she's fine, she's unconscious because she wants to be." "Really?" Sinn asked, "Why would anyone want to be unconscious?" "This way I don't have control of her, she's growing stubborn and I don't want her getting in my way," Axel said angrily. "You've brought this upon yourself, Axel," Gem said standing in front of him. "Oh?" he looked up at Gem and instantly knew what she had meant, "I see you have made up your mind but answer me this Gem, how will you defeat me when you're powerless?" Axel asked while smirking. Sinn thought to himself she knew he would ask this and honestly I have the same question, it's pretty obvious that Gem feeds power off of Karma so she doesn't get too powerful but it definitely won't be enough to take on Axel. Sinn looked at Gem who was determined but determination alone would only get her killed, not to mention her i
"Just wake up already, you're fully healed," Axel said to Kami. Axel rarely leaves the shinigami realm so when he wants to communicate with Kami he meets up with her in her head. "I've had enough Axel, let me go I won't be your puppet any longer," Kami said folding her arms. "You almost got Kaname and Karma killed, not to mention you almost killed my mother. I told you that you could use my body to achieve the war but don't hurt my family," "They were just collateral damage besides even if I did get them killed what would you do? It's not like you could stop me, face it if it weren't for that commander we wouldn't be in here right now," Axel said smirking. "Whatever, all that matters now is that we're here now and we're on equal terms now," Kami said with a smirk. "What the hell are you talking about kid?" Axel said getting annoyed. "Thanks to that beating the commander gave me, your mark is halfway gone," Kami said pushing h
"Natsu I need to see Luke right now," I said giving Natsu a look of determination."Uh, sure and you know there's no rush it's not like he's going anywhere," Natsu said jokingly."Just where did they take him Natsu?""Follow me," Natsu said as we walked through to get to the infirmary, I kept my head down a majority of the time as Nastu stopped to talk to his comrades. In my head, I hoped and prayed that no one would recognize me and thankfully no one did. I thought to myself I probably should've brought Kaname or even Lyst with me. Once we got to the infirmary, I put my head up a bit to see Luke, for the first time he looked genuinely happy. He was laughing with a bunch of other people and being greeted by people, he looked like he was where he belonged. I felt a pain in my chest, it hurt to see someone else enjoying the one thing I wanted most. Why is it that everyone else gets to have that feeling but for me? Did I do something wrong? Was I unworthy of
I open the bush to find Luke's jacket, I picked it up and a person with horns pops out, I looked at Kaname."He's pretty smart," Sinn said, replying for Kaname. "losing the clothes would aid his escape better but of course he slipped up giving it to a demon," Sinn said and the jacket started glowing. Kaname shielded me as the jacket glowed and then dissipated."Hehehehehehe, good to see you again Kaname," the demon said."What did they say?" Kaname asked Sinn."They said it was nice to see you again Kaname," I said to Kaname, "stop talking, you'll make yourself worse,""How did you understand that?" Sinn asked me, I looked at him confused, "demons speak an ancient language, it was around before shinigami," Sinn explained."I don't know, I just understood them," I said looking at the demon."I've never seen you before, who are you?""I'm Karma, Kaname's sister and you are?" I asked extending my hand to the female demon."
