Lena stepped out of the crowded bar, the cool night air a welcome respite from the pulsating music and flashing lights. She took a deep breath, letting the sounds of the city wash over her. "Lost?" he asked, his deep voice low and smooth.

Lena's instincts told her to step back, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot. "Just getting some fresh air," she replied, trying to sound casual.

The stranger's gaze roamed over her face, his eyes lingering on her lips. "You shouldn't be out here alone," he said, his voice dripping with concern.

Lena bristled at the implication. "I can take care of myself," she said, her voice firm.
