Chapter 2

ผู้เขียน: No More Waiting
I moved into the warriors' quarters.

The young wolves were extremely shocked by my presence and didn't dare say a word to me. All of them knew who I was and what had happened, but none of them dared to bring it up and question me further.

Time seemed to crawl by as I spent the night in that building that stank of sweat and feet.

I received a new order the next morning.

"You don't have to join the patrols from this day forth," Felix said as he stood on the stage in the training grounds, looking down at me. "Portia needs a bodyguard. You're responsible for protecting her now."

The rest of the warriors stared at Felix with flabbergasted expressions. They couldn't believe that he was assigning me, the chief warrior, to play bodyguard for an Omega she-wolf.

"That goes against the law, Alpha," a Beta, Jason Green, said. "Selena is the best warrior in the entire pack. She should be on the frontlines, not—"

"Silence!" Felix roared, interrupting Jason. "I'm the Alpha. My word is law!"

There was a provoking glint in his eye as he looked at me, demanding, "What's wrong? Are you unwilling to carry out my orders? Portia is extremely weak now. Her life could be in danger at any time. You're the strongest wolf in the pack. Protecting her is your duty now.

"Or could it be that you would rather see her dead to soothe your own jealousy?"

I felt like I was looking at a total stranger as I looked at Felix. "I accept," I said calmly.

I headed over to the master bedroom. The door was slightly ajar, and I could hear Portia's laughter coming from within.

"These grapes are so sweet, Felix. Can you feed them to me?"

"Sure. Open your mouth."

I stood emotionlessly outside the door, like a statue.

A few moments later, Portia noticed me. "Selena is here."

There was a triumphant smile on her face as she leaned against Felix's chest, wearing my silk pajamas.

"I'll be counting on you from now on, Selena. I can't move around much because of my leg, so I'll have to rely on you for many things."

"No problem," I replied coldly. "It's my duty."

"You don't have to be so cold," Portia said, sounding troubled as she shrank further into Felix's embrace. "I just want to be friends with you."

"She doesn't deserve to be your friend," Felix spat icily.

He plucked a grape and fed it to Portia, not even bothering to spare me a glance as he continued, "She's an unrefined beast. She doesn't know how to be gentle.

"Get a glass of water for Portia, Selena. Make sure it's warm. 113 Fahrenheit."

I took a deep breath before walking over to the table to pour a glass of water for Portia. I then strode over to the bed and offered it to her.

Portia reached out for the water. However, just as her fingers brushed the glass, she suddenly loosened her grip.

The glass fell to the floor and shattered into a million pieces. The hot water splashed all over Portia's feet.

Portia screamed. "It burns!"

Tears welled up in her eyes in an instant, making her look extremely pitiful.

"What are you doing?"

Felix leaped to his feet and slapped me hard across my face. "You can't even hold a glass of water properly. How useless can you be?" he roared before bringing Portia's feet to his face and carefully blowing on them.

"I'm sorry, Felix. Don't blame Selena," Portia choked out. "I was the one who dropped the glass. Don't be angry—"

"You're being too kind!" Felix shouted as he glared at me. "She did that on purpose because she's jealous of you! Get on your knees and apologize to Portia!"

I wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth before turning to look at Felix. "I didn't let go of the glass," I said. "She's the one who dropped it."

"Still making excuses?" Felix asked, his expression turning stormy. "I saw what happened with my own two eyes. It's disgusting how you insist on lying, Selena. Kneel now! This is an order!"

It was impossible to disobey an Alpha's command.

My knees quivered as the urge to obey coursed through me. However, I stubbornly refused to submit.

The broken glass shards glimmered with a cold light next to my feet.

If I kneeled now, my legs would get torn up.

Was that Felix's goal? To cripple my legs just like how he crippled Portia's all those years ago?

"I won't kneel," I gritted out. "I didn't do anything wrong."

Felix barked out an indignant laugh. "Is that so?"

His foot suddenly shot out, kicking the back of my knee.

I lost control over my body and fell to my knees. Excruciating pain exploded from the point of impact.

The sharp glass shards dug into my knees, causing fresh blood to stain the carpet.

I couldn't help myself and grunted in pain as sweat drenched my back.

"This is what you get for disobeying me," Felix hissed as he glared coldly at me with eyes that were devoid of any sympathy. "Continue kneeling until Portia forgives you."

Portia hid in Felix's embrace. A frosty smile stretched across her lips as she stared at my pained expression.

"Selena's bleeding so much, Felix. Is she going to die?"

"She won't," Felix replied indifferently. "Wolves have strong regenerative powers. This is just a scratch. It'll serve as a good lesson for her to understand who's the one and only Alpha of this pack."

  • Losing Me and Our Pup to Find His Fated Mate   Chapter 9

Felix became an Omega of the Blackshadow pack. He was assigned the lowliest jobs in the estate, such as sweeping the floor, feeding the horses, and cleaning the restrooms. He didn't complain at all. On the contrary, he felt honored to be doing such lowly work. From his perspective, he was atoning for his sins. It was also a way for him to stay by my side.Every morning when I woke up, I would find a bouquet of wild flowers outside my door.Felix had given me the same flowers in the past when he was pursuing me.I didn't accept any of his bouquets. Instead, I would ask an Omega to throw them away every single time.Meanwhile, Ryan was incredibly annoyed by Felix's antics."That useless piece of trash hasn't given up yet?" Ryan asked as he hugged me. His voice took on a sour edge. "Should I cut out his tongue? Or maybe I should send him somewhere far away from here.""No need," I replied as I smiled and kissed his cheek. "Leave him here. Letting him witness our happiness is the be

Felix didn't give up his life. He was a selfish wolf, after all. However, he also didn't give up on seeking me out.Three days later, he showed up at the Blackshadow pack again with a bound Portia in tow.Felix didn't bring any warriors with him this time. He was alone as he dragged Portia along to kneel in front of the main building in the estate."I've brought the sinner here, Selena!" he shouted. "You can kill, torture, or do whatever you please to her! I just hope that you can forgive me!"Ryan and I stood by the window and quietly watched the commotion outside.Portia's hair was disheveled, and she was covered in injuries. It was obvious that she had suffered greatly in the last few days. She immediately started wailing when she spotted me."Save me, Selena! Felix has lost his mind! He wants to kill me! I was forced to do what I did. He's the one who forced me!"Although the situation had already come to this point, Portia was still trying to shift the blame to someone else

Selena's Point-of-View"No… This is impossible," Felix stammered as he stumbled to his feet and stared at me unblinkingly. "Why did you become somebody else's Luna? You betrayed me, Selena."I scoffed. "I dissolved our mate bond a long time ago. I'm the Blackshadow pack's Luna now, so you better watch your tongue, Felix, unless you want the Blackshadow pack to trample the Silvermoon pack into the ground."Felix's expression twisted in an instant as he clenched his fists. He didn't expect that I would become the Luna of the Blackshadow pack within the last three years.A wave of regret crashed over him. My position as the strongest warrior had been uncontested during my time in the Silvermoon pack. After becoming the Luna of the Blackshadow pack, I had elevated the pack to unprecedented heights. If he hadn't hurt me for Portia's sake, perhaps I would be his Luna.At that moment, Felix forgot about his fear of my immense power. Hints of envy and possessiveness shone in his eyes.

Third-Person POVThree years later. An earth-shattering change rocked through the south. With Ryan leading the charge, the Blackshadow pack successfully conquered more than a dozen smaller packs and became the strongest pack in the south. On the other hand, Felix's pack grew weaker with every day that passed.Portia's condition continued to deteriorate, and she always fainted.Felix ended up draining all of the pack's resources to treat her. He became violent and irritable and would punish his subordinates over the smallest transgressions.Even the most loyal of warriors began to lose faith in him. Some even escaped and joined the Blackshadow pack."Those damned traitors!" Felix roared as he swept the documents off the desk. "What on earth did Ryan offer them?""Alpha…" Jason said carefully as he stood to the side. "Apparently, the Blackshadow pack has a new Luna. She's very powerful and is very skilled in training their warriors to fight. The warriors who left our pack and jo

I spat out a mouthful of blackened blood after I was done speaking and crumpled to the ground.Right before my vision turned completely dark, I heard a sigh."So, he's the wolf you chose to be your mate? You must have been blinded by love."I thought that I had died until I felt a burning energy surge through me, forcefully bringing me back to consciousness. My eyes flew open as I desperately gasped for breath. An unfamiliar ceiling filled my vision. The bright light shining from the extravagant chandelier that hung overhead hurt my eyes."You're awake."An unfamiliar but handsome wolf was sitting by my bedside, fiddling with the Moonstone that had broken into two halves."Where is this place?"I wanted to sit up, but my body felt as if it was being weighed down by lead."The Blackshadow pack," the wolf answered simply.I stared at his face, suddenly feeling as if I had seen him somewhere before. The wolf was the Alpha of the Blackshadow pack, someone who was feared by ever

I didn't die, but being alive felt like a fate worse than death.I didn't receive the treatment that I needed after I lost my pup. On the contrary, my body rapidly weakened after being forced to endure even more suffering.I was drowning in hopelessness as I was locked away in the dungeon.Felix refused to let me die. He gave me the best medicine that barely kept me alive. He told me that he was being kind, but I knew that he was only keeping me alive to make Portia happy.Portia visited me often while dressed in beautiful Luna robes and wearing my Moonstone necklace that sparkled brilliantly."Look, Selena. Your Moonstone necklace looks so good on me," she said as she kneeled in front of me and patted my face with her soft and smooth hands. "Felix told me that I'm the most beautiful she-wolf in the entire pack.""Scram," I spat weakly."Don't be so angry," Portia said with a laugh. "I came here today to share some good news with you. Felix and I will be having our mating ritual
