Chapter 1

ผู้เขียน: No More Waiting
Felix Axeford sat on the couch in the villa, cradling a trembling she-wolf in his arms, Portia Smith.

Portia was his fated mate, but he had exiled her from the pack five years ago.

I was the chief warrior and Felix's current mate. I stood at the bottom of the stairs in my armor that was covered in mud.

"Selena Lunaro," Felix said, "I want you to move out of the master bedroom."

I was stunned by his words, wondering if my ears were playing tricks on me.

"What did you say?"

"I said I want you to move out of the master bedroom," Felix repeated.

He raised his head, glaring at me with impatient eyes that used to look at me as if I were his entire world.

"Portia can't stay in a damp place because of her leg. The master bedroom has the best sunlight. It's perfect for her to stay in during her recovery."

"Where am I going to stay?" I asked.

"The guestroom or the warriors' quarters," Felix answered flippantly. "You're a warrior. You can sleep anywhere. Don't be so difficult."

The warriors' quarters?

It was a large space where the young and unmated wolves lived.

I was Felix's mate and the pack's future Luna, and yet he wanted me to live with the other wolves in that cramped space.

"Do you hear yourself, Felix?" I demanded while suppressing my anger. "I'm your mate. We've stayed together in the master bedroom for the past five years."

"That's in the past now," Felix said, looking down at Portia.

Portia let out a pained moan right at that moment. She tightly gripped Felix's clothes with pale fingers.

"My leg hurts so much, Felix," she whimpered. "Am I going to be crippled?"

"You won't. I'm here," Felix replied gently.

It had been months since I heard Felix speak in that tone.

His gentle expression disappeared the moment he looked at me and gave his order. "You took Portia's place for the last five years, Selena. You should be more understanding."

More understanding?

For the last five years, I accompanied Felix during all his conquests, collecting up to 18 scars all over my body. I helped him eliminate the traitors in the pack, expand his territory, and turn his pack, which was on the brink of destruction, into the biggest clan in the north.

I kept vigil by his bedside every time he got hurt. I even sacrificed one of my kidneys for his sake.

From the very beginning, Felix was the one who told me that he didn't want his fated mate, who was assigned by the Moon Goddess. He told me that the only she-wolf he wanted was me.

However, at that moment, he was telling me that Portia, a she-wolf who only knew how to cry, was the true Luna of the pack.

"And what if I refuse?" I asked, tightening my grip on my sword.

Felix's expression darkened. "This is an Alpha's command, Selena. Are you going to go against me?"

My knees started throbbing painfully.

Felix was trying to force me to submit to him with his Alpha's command, but I powered through the pain and didn't kneel.

I was the chief warrior of the Silvermoon pack. I only kneeled to heaven, earth, and my fallen comrades. I refused to kneel to such a preposterous order.

"You dare to challenge an Alpha's command? I heard that many wolves in the pack listen to your orders, Selena. Some of them even think that you'll be a better leader. Is that true?"

I was shocked upon learning that such a ridiculous rumor was circulating through the pack. My heart turned hollow, and I felt immensely disappointed.

I had put my life on the line countless times for Felix's sake in the last few years, giving everything I had to him. However, in the end, from his perspective, I wasn't even worth his trust, even though I had sacrificed everything for him.

I barked out a self-deprecating laugh. "Is the answer that important to you? Remember this day, Felix. You're the one who forced me to move out."

I turned around and left after I was done speaking, not bothering to spare them another glance.

"Is Selena angry, Felix?" Portia asked timidly. "Maybe we shouldn't ask her to move out of the master bedroom. I don't mind staying in the basement…"

"Don't worry about her," Felix replied. "She has thick skin. She's used to it."

I returned to the master bedroom and looked around at the place I had lived in for the last five years.

My photos with Felix were still hanging on the wall. The bone teeth necklace that he had given me was sitting on the bedside table.

I grabbed a trash bag and started dumping all the clothes, photos, and presents into it.

Since Felix wanted me to move out of this room, I was going to erase every single trace of my presence.

Just as I dragged the trash bag out of the room, I bumped into Felix, who was carrying Portia up the stairs.

Felix frowned as he looked at the trash bag and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Moving out of the room," I replied. "I'm taking out the trash."

"Do whatever you want."

Felix averted his gaze and carried Portia into the master bedroom—the room that had once belonged to us.

The door slammed shut behind him.

I headed out of the villa and dumped the contents of the trash bag onto the ground. I then pulled out a lighter and lit up the only photo I had with Felix.

The flames immediately swallowed Felix's smiling face in the photo.

I left the rest of the things that were filled with memories to an Omega maid, saying, "Burn everything. They're filthy. It's disgusting."

I turned around and left the place after I was done speaking, not bothering to spare a single glance back at the items.

Felix became an Omega of the Blackshadow pack. He was assigned the lowliest jobs in the estate, such as sweeping the floor, feeding the horses, and cleaning the restrooms. He didn't complain at all. On the contrary, he felt honored to be doing such lowly work. From his perspective, he was atoning for his sins. It was also a way for him to stay by my side.Every morning when I woke up, I would find a bouquet of wild flowers outside my door.Felix had given me the same flowers in the past when he was pursuing me.I didn't accept any of his bouquets. Instead, I would ask an Omega to throw them away every single time.Meanwhile, Ryan was incredibly annoyed by Felix's antics."That useless piece of trash hasn't given up yet?" Ryan asked as he hugged me. His voice took on a sour edge. "Should I cut out his tongue? Or maybe I should send him somewhere far away from here.""No need," I replied as I smiled and kissed his cheek. "Leave him here. Letting him witness our happiness is the be

Felix didn't give up his life. He was a selfish wolf, after all. However, he also didn't give up on seeking me out.Three days later, he showed up at the Blackshadow pack again with a bound Portia in tow.Felix didn't bring any warriors with him this time. He was alone as he dragged Portia along to kneel in front of the main building in the estate."I've brought the sinner here, Selena!" he shouted. "You can kill, torture, or do whatever you please to her! I just hope that you can forgive me!"Ryan and I stood by the window and quietly watched the commotion outside.Portia's hair was disheveled, and she was covered in injuries. It was obvious that she had suffered greatly in the last few days. She immediately started wailing when she spotted me."Save me, Selena! Felix has lost his mind! He wants to kill me! I was forced to do what I did. He's the one who forced me!"Although the situation had already come to this point, Portia was still trying to shift the blame to someone else

Selena's Point-of-View"No… This is impossible," Felix stammered as he stumbled to his feet and stared at me unblinkingly. "Why did you become somebody else's Luna? You betrayed me, Selena."I scoffed. "I dissolved our mate bond a long time ago. I'm the Blackshadow pack's Luna now, so you better watch your tongue, Felix, unless you want the Blackshadow pack to trample the Silvermoon pack into the ground."Felix's expression twisted in an instant as he clenched his fists. He didn't expect that I would become the Luna of the Blackshadow pack within the last three years.A wave of regret crashed over him. My position as the strongest warrior had been uncontested during my time in the Silvermoon pack. After becoming the Luna of the Blackshadow pack, I had elevated the pack to unprecedented heights. If he hadn't hurt me for Portia's sake, perhaps I would be his Luna.At that moment, Felix forgot about his fear of my immense power. Hints of envy and possessiveness shone in his eyes.

Third-Person POVThree years later. An earth-shattering change rocked through the south. With Ryan leading the charge, the Blackshadow pack successfully conquered more than a dozen smaller packs and became the strongest pack in the south. On the other hand, Felix's pack grew weaker with every day that passed.Portia's condition continued to deteriorate, and she always fainted.Felix ended up draining all of the pack's resources to treat her. He became violent and irritable and would punish his subordinates over the smallest transgressions.Even the most loyal of warriors began to lose faith in him. Some even escaped and joined the Blackshadow pack."Those damned traitors!" Felix roared as he swept the documents off the desk. "What on earth did Ryan offer them?""Alpha…" Jason said carefully as he stood to the side. "Apparently, the Blackshadow pack has a new Luna. She's very powerful and is very skilled in training their warriors to fight. The warriors who left our pack and jo

I spat out a mouthful of blackened blood after I was done speaking and crumpled to the ground.Right before my vision turned completely dark, I heard a sigh."So, he's the wolf you chose to be your mate? You must have been blinded by love."I thought that I had died until I felt a burning energy surge through me, forcefully bringing me back to consciousness. My eyes flew open as I desperately gasped for breath. An unfamiliar ceiling filled my vision. The bright light shining from the extravagant chandelier that hung overhead hurt my eyes."You're awake."An unfamiliar but handsome wolf was sitting by my bedside, fiddling with the Moonstone that had broken into two halves."Where is this place?"I wanted to sit up, but my body felt as if it was being weighed down by lead."The Blackshadow pack," the wolf answered simply.I stared at his face, suddenly feeling as if I had seen him somewhere before. The wolf was the Alpha of the Blackshadow pack, someone who was feared by ever

I didn't die, but being alive felt like a fate worse than death.I didn't receive the treatment that I needed after I lost my pup. On the contrary, my body rapidly weakened after being forced to endure even more suffering.I was drowning in hopelessness as I was locked away in the dungeon.Felix refused to let me die. He gave me the best medicine that barely kept me alive. He told me that he was being kind, but I knew that he was only keeping me alive to make Portia happy.Portia visited me often while dressed in beautiful Luna robes and wearing my Moonstone necklace that sparkled brilliantly."Look, Selena. Your Moonstone necklace looks so good on me," she said as she kneeled in front of me and patted my face with her soft and smooth hands. "Felix told me that I'm the most beautiful she-wolf in the entire pack.""Scram," I spat weakly."Don't be so angry," Portia said with a laugh. "I came here today to share some good news with you. Felix and I will be having our mating ritual
