Chapter 27: Storming the Beaches

While a group of soldiers helped Lieutenant Monte onto a landing craft, the burning troopship began to sink. But by then, all the landing craft were in the water. 

“Behold, the tide is rising! We will be able to land much closer to shore than I had expected. Listen carefully to my orders,” the lieutenant said to his men. 

“Fifty men will scale that cliff and attack that enemy cannon while another fifty men will cover their assault from the bottom of the cliff. You are to capture the cannon, causing as little damage to it as possible, and use it to support our landings.
