Chapter six

       I turned around to see Lyod enterIng with his black jeep. I wanted to rush in to avoid his questions at least for the moment, but no,  he saw me already and called out as he packed his car. Hey Johnny, don't tell me you didn't see me coming. 

Me::  I did bro just that I wanted to take something from the house. 

Lyod:: take something from the house! And that could not wait till you at least say hello to your big brother? 

As I was about saying something he asked me the much expected question. 

Lyod:: That's by the way. Who was that lady I just saw moved out of this compound with a power bike? And don't dare lie to me John. 

Me::It's just a friend I met in school bro. 

Lyod::A friend you just met and you're already bringing her to our house? How much do you know about her? Or because she is a lady you think she can't be harmful? I keep warning you with this reckless behavior John, okay. 

Lyod was annoyed as he walked into the house. I thought he  must be used to it by now because I do this a lot. Or does he  think I will change just because I'm in university, no way. Life just started and I gat to eat(flirty with)  more babes(girls) . 

After talking to myself for  sometime I followed him in. He was in his room upstairs  probably changing into his house attire. 

I called  out to the maid to inform her that Lyod is back and she should set the table for dinner. 

         I went back to my room and the thoughts of queen kept coming into my head. But this girl is something else. How come she knows too much about this romance stuff. Could it be she is spoiled or it's just a special gift from God? 

As I was still doing this thinking and smiling to myself, the maid came to  inform me that my brother is downstairs and dinner has been served already. I followed her down to meet Lyod and we all ate together with the maid. My brother likes doing that a lot which is not cool with me. I feel like some day this maid will think we are now equal in this house. I pray she never tries this because I will make sure she regrets it bitterly. 

     

             MAID'S POV

Maid :: I don't feel comfortable when I have to  sit on the same table with this johnny of a guy, he is too arrogant unlike his brother Mr Lyod who is so calm. He is actually every woman's dream and I sometimes wonder why he is still single. Have never seen him with any lady apart from his colleagues. He is such an amazing guy. Look at his looks, so charming, how I wish he could just notice me. I don't think a wealthy and well to do man like  Mr Lyod can even notice someone like  me, I guess he has seen all class of classic girls both back in the days of his high school and even now at work. 

Johnny:: Hi bro you're unusually quiet. What's up, what happened at work today. 

Lyod::Nothing kid bro, I am just tired, work was hectic today, a lot of patients and I had to attend to all. 

Johnny:: that's why I can't even dream of becoming a medical doctor bro, the thoughts of it makes me crazy, it's too stressful. 

Lyod::there isn't any work that is not stressful. And more to that, what could be more fulfilling than serving humanity. I love what I do and I do it with passion. Believe me if you were in my shoes  you could have done the same. 

Johnny:: I don't think so bro. I know some patients can be so annoying. 

Lyod: of course but you can't blame them. No one ever wants to get sick and anyone can get sick. It does not necessarily mean you're being careless. 

Maid::  That's very true sir Lyod. Your profession really suits you and I admire the passion you have for your work a lot. 

Lyod::Thank you Grace, I am super happy to hear this from you. No one has told me this before. 

Maid(Grace) :: Really? Sir. You can't be serious because I know your colleagues must be telling you that every  day. 

Lyod::Yes they do tell me that but the way you put yours sounded so special, thank you. 

Grace:: your welcome sir. 

As I was talking with Mr Lyod I kept crushing on him. I was like, could it be this fine guy is also in love with me? The thought of this made me smile, Hahah Naughty me. 

Johnny ::hey you,  enough with the smiles, will you pack everything here and clean the table. 

Grace ::Yes sir. As I packed the dishes to the  kitchen. 

Lyod:: John? 

Johnny::Yes bro. 

Lyod::Why do you enjoy talking to this girl in that way? 

Johnny:: she is not my class bro, I can talk to her anyhow I want. Afterall  she is just a maid. 

Lyod::But she is still human like you and me. And remember that she never chooses to be this way. Treat every human with respect, I keep telling you this right? 

Johnny:: Enough Lyod, don't tell me you want to scold me just because of a maid. Am living for my room now. 

Lyod::Call it anything you want but know that this your arrogance won't take you anywhere, mark my words John. 

Johnny::Whatever bro, good night. 

    LAURA GEORGE'S POV

      I sat down in our living room and watched one of my telenovelas as usual. My dad came to join me. He sat down with me and asked that I should sit on his lap.  

Laura:: (smiling) Hey dad, am not a kid anymore, 

Pastor Don::  you will forever be my little  girl and nothing will ever change that. Don't be shy,  come sit with daddy here. 

I reluctantly went to my dad. 

Pastor Don ::So tell me, how is school going, hope you're getting used to and also making new friends. 

Laura ::Of course dad, you sent me to my dream school and I want to thank you so much for that dad. 

Pastor Don ::  Anything for my little angel. 

Laura:: Just that my first day in school I encountered these three arrogant guys who almost got me angry. 

Dad was so surprised that he made me leave his lab and sat directly on the couch. 

Pastor Don :: Tell me their names, first thing tomorrow am going to that school to put them in their place. 

Laura::Hey dad, don't be so worked up, it's nothing serious.  I never said they bullied me, just that they tried to influence my mind with some crazy stuff of dressing to please the world but I made it very clear to them that I dress to please one person alone and that is my maker.   

Pastor Don ::That's my daughter, I trust you. 

Laura:: Of course you know me so well dad. I told them I'm not interested in the things of the world because it will pass away but the word of God is eternal and perpetual. 

There is this particular one among them who told me his name was John  Williams. 

Pastor Don:: Williams? I guess have heard that name somewhere. 

Laura::Sure dad, the guy actually looks rich and he tried to use that to mock me. I just laughed because I made him understand who my father really is. I think I have encountered this johnny of a guy in school twice already, and you know what dad! 

Pastor Don :: What is it? 

Laura:: we are in the same department, my last encounter with him was much different. He didn't speak like  the first day we met, he sounded so cool. 

Pastor Don ::Well, people like that always have a way of fooling people, I don't want you to be mingling with guys like that, they are a bad influence okay. Please stay away from him. 

Laura::But dad, what if…… 

Pastor Don ::: There is no but daughter, stay away from him. 

Laura:: Noted dad.  Am off to my room now, I have some assignments to work on. 

Pastor Don ::okay my angel. Do that so that you will join me soon for our evening devotion. 

Laura::okay dad, love you! 

Pastor Don :: love you too daughter.
