Chapter 9: The Alpha Meeting

Alpha Aspen POV:

Seeing my mate full of sadness and pain cause by a man who should have devoted himself to her makes my blood boil. It definitely does help that the man is my long time enemy. She's skeptical about me and becoming my Luna. The little that I've heard about her marriage to Ezra I can't say that I blame her

"I will make that son of a bitch pay for hurting our mate." Blaze growls as he's pacing back and forth.

"We will. But for now we need this alliance to protect our mate and pack from the witches. Once we take care of that threat we will take care of Ezra." I say back to Blaze.

"I'm sorry for pulling you from the party. I just never thought I'd find you." She says to me as she pulls down the driveway of the Blackwood Bay packhouse.

"You can take me from anywhere. Once this meeting is finished we will be leaving so please go home and pack your things." I tell her as I push a strand of her long beautiful hair behind her ear. She starts to blush but then it looks like reality hit her out of no where.

"Would it be okay if my father joined us. I promised him that we will be leaving this pack together. He has experienced just as much pain as I have." She looks away from me as she speaks.

"Why wouldn't the man who created my world be able to join us?" I couldn't imagine why she would think that I would say no.

She look up at me and for the first time I see her emerald green eyes sparkle with happiness. It makes my heart swell. Goddess I am grateful that I no longer have to go through this life without her. Adeline may be broken but I vow to the moon goddess that I will fix her heart and make her the happiest she-wolf on Earth.

"Okay I will go pack and grab my father as well. Enjoy your meeting."

"I will have my driver bring me to your house. I remember the way there I will try to be as fast as possible." I pull her in for a kiss and then I get out of her car. It's a very updated and cared for BMW it's beige with pink interior and it fits her very well. I watch as she speeds out of the packhouse driveway. I make note to talk to her about her speeding. Wolves can heal from a lot of things but some car crashes are fatal upon impact and I will not be losing her.

Alpha Ezra's guards let me inside and show me to the conference room. The Alphas are talking to their betas as they wait for Ezra's entrance. I walk inside and find my beta Gabriel waiting for me.

"Well Alpha find yourself a quick fuck while being here?" He asks teasingly.

"I actually found my mate." I say back to him with a bit of pride in my voice.

Gabriel's mouth drops. "Are you serious? Who is she? What does she look like? Are you gonna take her with you?" His questions come one right after the other and before I could get a chance to answer Ezra walks in.

"Thank you all for coming. I'm sure you know why I have invited you all here. The witches have been attack several packs in our region. Their attacks have been precise and calculated. They have targeted some of our wealthier packs that have business in the human cities. They catch the wolves on their way to business meeting or while they are away on business trips. I believe this is all a distraction from their bigger plan." As he speaks we all pay attention. These witches have been causing every one of packs problems. They aren't attacking our packs directly but they are trying to cause dents in our finances.

"What do you suggest we do to combat these attacks?" Alpha Damien asks. He's alpha of the Shadow Creek Pack that is in the northern region.

"Not many of us know how to fight magic." Says Alpha Liam of the Mystic Bay Pack.

"I actually have books in my pack that has information on how to combat magic and how to protect ourselves." I tell the other Alphas.

"How did you get this information?" Alpha Ezra asks me. You can hear the hate he has for me in his tone.

"Well it is no secret my mother is half witch. We have books that have been passed down for generations. My family has prided themselves on being full of knowledge. We have collected information for centuries. I'll be happy to fax over copies to each of the Alphas present today." I say in a matter of fact tone.

"That would be appreciated. I would like for us all to sign a treaty that says we are all in agreement to not go to war, spy, or entertain old rivalries until we have eliminated the threat the witches have caused." He says as his beta passes out pens.

We all look over the treaty and take a moment to review it. Everything is as it should be. That is until I notice it says in bold print at the bottom of the treaty. VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS TREATY WILL RESULT IN THE IMMEDIATE REMOVAL OF THE ALPHA AND ABSORPTION OF THEIR PACK INTO THE BLACKWOOD BAY PACK. This bastard! He thinks that he will be able to force one of us into a violation so his pack can become bigger and stronger.

"I think this treaty needs to be amended before I sign anything." I say as I put my pen down.

"Excuse me?" Ezra's asks as the other Alphas look my way.

"I didn't stutter. What happens when you violate the treaty. Who absorbs your pack?" I ask as I lock eyes with Ezra.

"I will not violate a treaty that I created!"

"We will not violate a treaty we agreed to. Yet there it is in bold print."

"Fine. I will have my beta adjust the treaty. It will say ' VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS TREATY WILL RESULT IN THE IMMEDIATE REMOVAL OF THE ALPHA AND ABSORPTION OF THEIR PACK INTO THE PACKS THAT HAVE SIGNED THIS TREATY.' Will that satisfy you?"

"Yes actually."

His beta walks out of the room and takes the treaty with him. A few moments later he returns with the amended treaty. We all take a look over it once again. I am happy with what I read so I signed and the other Alphas followed.

"Before we leave I have one more thing to discuss with you Alpha Ezra." I say loudly. "I would also like if the rest of you stay as well.
