Chapter 8: Ditching the Ball

I grab Alpha Aspen by his hand and start to run out of the ball. We get into my car and I speed off before anyone could notice us.

"I see that we are heading into the woods. Why would Ezra allow his wife and Luna to live so far from the packhouse?" He asks me and this time I can tell he has many questions about my relationship with Ezra.

"Our marriage was arranged by our father's. My dad was Alpha Desmond's beta. My mother never liked the packhouse and always said that a family deserves their own home. So my father bought her a house and when I was married I told Ezra the same. He bought this house for me as a gift, but sometimes I wonder if it actually a gift to both of us." I respond to him as I start to pull down my driveway.

"Was he never home?" Aspen asks me with one of his brows raised.

"No." I say firmly as I park the car.

"Well we are here. I wanted my house in the woods because Sage loves to run. Do you want to run together? She's been dying to meet your wolf since we scented you."

"Yes. Blaze is jumping up and down in excitement right now." He chuckles. Goddess this man has to be the most beautiful thing she has ever created.

I go behind a tree and take my dress off. After I'm naked I allow Sage to take control and we shift. Even though I'm small Sage is actually pretty big since I am a Beta's daughter. Sage walks from behind the tree and right up to Alpha Aspen.

"You little huzzy." I say to her.

"Well he is our fated mate and goddess just look at him." She purrs back to me while I roll my eyes.

"You are absolutely beautiful Sage." Aspen says as he glides his fingers through Sage's fur. She licks his face and he chuckles.

"Well I think Blaze is tired of waiting." He says as he starts to take his blazer, and then his shirt off. I wanted badly not to stare but Sage is in control and she makes it clear that she's watching.

Aspen then takes off his pants and underwear. He smirks as he realize Sage is watching him. After a second there is this beautiful sandy brown wolf with milky brown eyes just like Aspen's. Sage runs and pounces on Blaze.

They began to run and chase each other. This goes on for what feels like minutes which is actually hours. We circle back to my house and we both pull a shift. I rush inside before he can see me naked. Normally being in the nude doesn't bother me, I mean it is quite normal for wolves but it's something about being naked in front of him.

Aspen follows and before I can speak he smashes his lips against mine. I deepen the kiss and throw my arms around his neck. He picks me up by my waist and grabs a handful of my hair. We head in the direction of my bed, and I can feel how hard he is against my stomach. He pull my head back and I let out a gasp and he growls in approval.

As he lays me down his eyes glaze over and I can tell that he is being mindlinked. After a couple minutes his eyes are back to his original shade of a milky brown. As he begins to lift himself off of me his cock glides across my folds and it makes me moan. He growls and forces hisself away from me. I know it shouldn't bother me because I just met him, but the absence of his warmth makes my heart ache.

"I'm sorry beautiful it hurts me just as much. But I nearly forgot that I came here for the alpha meeting. Would you mind taking me back to the packhouse?" He asks me as he starts to get dressed. Something about him reassuring me that he doesn't want to be apart from me just as much as I don't gives me butterflies.

"Yes Alpha let me grab my clothes." Say as I get up from the bed. I start to walk towards my closet when he grabs me by my wrist and pulls me to him.

"It's just Aspen to you. You're my mate and future Luna. There's no reason for formalities." He tells me as he use both of his hands to grab me by my ass and pull me up to his face for a kiss.

"I'm not sure if that's what I want. I just left a loveless marriage with a man who cheated on me with my stepmother." I say as sadness starts to creep into my chest and blush starts to fill my cheeks.

"It's what I want. I will never be what that man was to you. I promise that I will never hurt. You will be the most important person in my life. Adeline please come back to the Hawthorne Bay Pack with me and become my Luna." He says this with so much passion, confidence and sincerity. How can I say no to him sounding like that?

"I will only agree to returning with you. We can see where we go from there. But we should head back to the packhouse it's roughly 20 minutes and I know you are needed Alpha." I say back to him.

"Of course my beautiful mate but I know that you will be mine I have no intention of this going any other way." He says with the most mischievous grin I have ever seen. Goddess this man will be the death of me.
