Chapter No.19: Baby Steps

Emily Foster:

I was on my way to the kitchen to take a glass of milk for Lily when I heard the whispered yelling voice of Lucas coming from his study. My curiosity took over me and I decided to eavesdrop.

"Dad, you can do or say whatever you want, threaten me with anything you want but I don't care. At this point, I don't care today. I am not going to listen to you or Mom. I am done spending life according to you. I don't give a fuck about anything. You can do whatever you want but I am not going to marry Isabelle. I don't love her, never did, and never will. Emily is the only one for me." I heard him yell. I thought he was talking on the phone but when I heard his father's voice I gasped.

"You are willing to leave your luxurious life behind for that gold digger who is only trying to take over your wealth and nothing else. She is trapping you but you can't see it. I know the woman like her, they want nothing but your money. That stupid whore left her husband when he got broke, which t
