I woke up, finding Percy never left my room. He was sleeping sitting up, with his hand still on my head. I couldn't believe he had offered to do that for me last night. It used to be the only way I'd fall asleep when we were younger, until Alester found out. He said it was making us soft and he forced Percy to look into the deepest darkest futures and show it to us every night for a week. I still to this day have nightmares about that gruesome future. I woke up to an empty bed, leaving an empty feeling in my chest. Is this how Kiran felt when he woke up after I left without a word? My poor intertwined, stuck with me for all eternity. Zerena's P.O.V.'I think we've reached a sort of peace. Come back?' Percy linked me. 'He's cooking and I see why you've put him in charge of making dinner in the future. It smells fu.cking amazing.'I laughed still laying on the shadow realm floor, feeling utterly exhausted from Shade's lesson. Controlling the dark is definitely the hardest thing I have tried to do. It's entirely different from controlling shadows, yet eerily similar. It confused me and drained me all at once. 'Take a break. We'll continue later.' Shade told me. I emerged from Percy's shadow, taking a seat beside him, watching Kiran cook. He hadn't noticed I was here, and I motioned for Percy to keep quiet. "I still don't know if I like you that much, Percy, but I'm willing to try. I see how much this has tormented you, and that fact alone makes me feel better about it. Zerena may have forgiven you quickly, but I won't, for her sake." Kiran spoke with his back turned. "For my sake?" I asked him, with a brow raised.
