Fuck Buddies

Breakfast at the Lancaster’s was awfully quiet. Each person had a lot of thing going on in their mind. Sarah: thinking about her last trip to the hospital. Nik had his mind wrapped around what happened with Shirley and his fight with Allison while Sarah thought about last night with Adon.

After breakfast everyone dispersed to their room to prepare for day three of the couple outing. After all the preparation, they arrived at the venue. It was a classy restaurant uptown where they were supposed to have heart to heart talks as a couple.

Adon and Sarah sat at their table, Allison and Nik sat at a table across While Shirley sat on her own with a drink placed on her table.

Sarah and Adon stared at each other eyeball to eyeball none faltering. “What do you want Adon”. She finally gathered the courage to ask. Not like she was afraid of asking the question, she was only afraid of the answer he would give.

Adon raised a brow at her. He had to keep his cool. It took him a lot of courage to say and do those things he did the previous night but notwithstanding, he was proud of himself.

“You know exactly what I mean”. She sighed. She didn’t want them to fight today. As per the team of the outing, she wanted to have a heart to heart talk with him. “You know Paul and I were just starting off as a couple, we were just reaching the peak of our relationship and boom I get news that we are getting married. What’s more you didn’t even oppose it you just willingly accepted it”.

“You know, I could have asked you to direct this question to my father but since he’s dead I’m afraid I cannot answer your question”. Adon replied, a hint of sarcasm and anger very visible in his voice.

“You know that I was madly in love with Paul and I still am in love with him”. Sarah stated as a matter of fact.

“Well you could have behaved decently by cutting all ties when we got married”. Adon replied, anger playing a game of chess on his face.

“I will do no such thing”. Sarah wondered how easy it was for those words to roll out from Adon’s mouth. oh right, he had never fallen in love before so chances are he doesn’t know what it felt like to be in love.

“What if you find out somehow that Paul isn’t who he says, May be he’s a fraud or maybe he lied to you from the very beginning”?

Sarah remained silent at his question; she had no answer to give him. The thought of Paul being a fraud, lying to her or even cheating on her made her brain hurt.

On the other table, Niklause tried hard to start off a conversation with Allison while she just remained quiet. He fiddled with words in his head, picking the ones he felt were most suitable for the atmosphere.

“I’m sorry Allison.. I’m really sorry for last night. You’re very precious to me and I’ll never do anything to hurt you whether intentionally or non-intentionally”. He tried holding her hand but she withdrew it.

After a while she looked up to him. “Nik I’m so sorry about yesterday I didn’t mean to flare up like that, I was only worried that you were drifting away. I know we agreed for us to be friends with benefit and I had no right to act like that with you”.

“I know, I just don’t want you falling in love with me. I’m not ready for the responsibilities that come with love. I care about you a lot and I don’t want you getting hurt because of me”.

She pursed her lips. “I fell in love with you already”.

“But that wasn’t the agreement Allison, that wasn’t the fucking agreement”. Niklause was beginning to lose his cool.

“And what was the fucking agreement Niklause”? She fired back at him.

“The fucking agreement was for us to just be fuck bodies and not fall in love like fools”. He growled trying his possible best to avoid attention from other people.

“Why do you think I agreed to be your fuck buddy from the beginning”? She asked rhetorically. “It was because I was in love with you and I still am okay. Don’t you understand”?

Her voice got higher with each word she said, she felt like a fool for letting her feelings out like that, she knew that things would never be the same again but it was all worth it, she needed him to know how she felt maybe he could treat her better in private.

Niklause on the other hand felt his heart melt with each word she spilled. Why couldn’t she understand that they had an agreement? He wanted to hold her in his arms and comfort her but he didn’t want to let her see his soft side. He refrained himself from saying any word of comfort so she wouldn’t use it to her advantage.

“Well you have to kill those feelings. Get over it Allison, just get over it”. He made his word harsher and looked away from her staring into open space.

Allison wasn’t going to give up. No, she didn’t want to give up. She gave up a lot to be with him. Her emotions are on a rampage and she found it difficult to control them. “How can you expect me to just fuck and not catch feelings for you? So, you just fucked me for the fun of fucking me. While I fell deeply for you”.

Allison banged her fisted palm on the table angrily. Sparing him one more glance, she left the restaurant.

Adon and Sarah hadn’t said anything to each other since his last question. Seems like it had a huge impact on Sarah. Sarah sighed after a while “I need you to understand that Paul loves me a lot”.

“And I need you to understand that I love you more”. Adon banged his hand on the table angrily making her flinch backwards. He stood up and left the restaurant angrily.

Thinking about everything Adon said made Sarah sad. She and Paul started dating after his confession to her. Everyone from school knew about it except her parent of course, she didn’t care if he was poor or rich she just wanted to be happy with him. Speaking of Rich, she had more than enough money to take care of the both of them in case he turned out to be poor but thinking about it he didn’t look poor, he dressed richly to during high school days. No one knew anything about his parent or background. He was always a bad boy.

After four years of dating secretly and finishing college she decided to introduce Paul her parents. Then boom she got the big new, she was getting married to Adon. Surprisingly Paul agreed for them to still be a couple and meet secretly while she devised ways to break off her engagement to Adon. She doesn’t know a thing about him, for some reason he was always so secretive and never told her anything. He always said when the time was right he would let her know anything she wanted to know.

For once she felt like a fool, she felt played and stupid. One prayer she muttered in her head: “Dear God, let Adon be wrong “.

“Hi babe, send me your address. I’m coming over”. Then she dropped the call and walked out of the restaurant.

Shirley left the restaurant later when after the argument everyone had left. She decided to visit the market to buy somethings for herself and for the house.

As the surfed through the various displayed items she bumped into someone sending the person and whatever they were holding straight to the ground.

“Oh I’m so sorry”. Shirley said helping the middle aged woman up the ground.

“Thank you child, it’s not your fault, it’s my fault for having weak bones”. The middle aged woman chuckled.

Immediately the woman got alright, Shirley began walking away. She felt someone staring intensely at her. As she turned, she saw the old woman standing at the same spot as before.

“Shirley McMahon”? The woman called amused

“Yes, have we met before”?. Shirley replied back with a question.

“You don’t remember do you”?

Shirley frowned her face wondering what on earth the woman was talking about.

“You’ll come looking for me soon but for now goodbye”.
