It was him "Aiden"
Was her mind playing a joke on her that she started seeing things, she blinked and he was still there.
Aliya's breath hitched as she registered the shock that it was really Aiden, but a stranger, older, harder.
Eight years had etched lines of experience onto his face, replacing the boyish charm with a chilling intensity. The black three-piece suit only amplified the aura of power and danger that emanated from him. His eyes, dark and fathomless, held a glacial coldness that pierced her. The air crackled with unspoken accusations, years of hurt and betrayal hanging heavy between them.
It dawned on Aliya that he was the boss, she was expecting to see.
"Aiden… how are you here?" she whispered, the question a fragile thing in the face of his imposing presence.
His lips curled into a cruel smile. "What? Don't want me to ruin your wedding?" The words were laced with venom.
No! It's just… I thought…" She choked back the word died, the unspoken fear a raw wound. I thought something had happened to you."
You thought I died? His voice dropped, dangerously low. The air thickened, charged with unspoken threats.
What happened to you?
You don't have the right to know. The coldness in his voice was a physical blow.
Tears welled in Aliya's eyes. He'd left her, disappeared, and now he was here, cold and accusing. The memories ,the agonizing uncertainty, the crushing loneliness threatened to overwhelm her.
She swallowed the lump in her throat, forcing herself to meet his gaze.
I'm glad you're safe, Aiden, but you have no right to hold me captive here. This is kidnapping, and on my wedding day, no less!
His face darkened, his tall frame eclipsing hers as he moved closer, trapping her against the wall. His breath hitched in her ear. "Wedding? You were going to marry someone else to save your family's pathetic company! Using people to solve your problems, it's always been your family's style."
That's not fair! Aliya protested, her voice trembling. I had to do what I had to do. Marrying Ryan was the only way to save the company and I would never let anything happen to my family.
A cruel laugh escaped him. "I should expect nothing less from a daughter raised by them"
"What do you mean?" she demanded.
"I have a few… details about you that your fiancé might find… interesting," he hissed, his voice a low growl.
Understanding dawned, chilling her to the bone. "You… you were the one that night? The caller?"
A predatory smile stretched across his lips. "Was I? Miss Finch wouldn't want her fiancé to see the 'slutty side' of her, would she?"
Before she could react, Aliya's hand lashed out, a stinging slap across his face. Both of them were stunned by the sudden violence. Aliya's hand had acted faster than her, at the thought that Aiden had set her up with another man.
The silence that followed was thick with tension, broken only by the ragged rhythm of Aliya's breathing.
You shouldn't have done that, Aliya. Aiden growled, his eyes blazing. He leaned in and his gaze burned into hers, a mixture of anger and something else… something that made her breath catch in her throat. He tilted his head, his lips brushing against hers, a tender, almost desperate kiss that was immediately overtaken by a fierce, possessive hunger. The kiss was a battleground, a clash of emotions, anger, hurt, desire, and a desperate need for reconciliation. It was a kiss that stole her breath, a kiss that left her breathless and aching, a kiss that spoke of a love both broken.
Aiden only released her when they were both out of air and they breathed heavily.
Stay here until you realize whom you truly belong to, you can only be mine. Aiden declared before leaving the room.
Hey! Aiden! Let me out of here. You can't keep me against my will, it's illegal. Aiden! Aliya banged at the door but it was locked and there was no response.
"Boss" The helicopter is ready, we should be leaving soon, Miguel reported.
You and Gary will be coming with me, Tessy stay back and handle things here while we are away. Take good care of her too.
What! Me?
Aiden narrowed his eye dangerously, Any objections?
No boss, no objection.
Good, I'll leave it to you, Aiden left while the rest followed behind him.
It's night time already and still no news from the police, Ryan also mobilized the underground network in the Capital City but no one seemed to know where the cars disappeared to.
Dorathy Finch was already wailing while her husband consoled her.
What if something happens to our daughter? I wouldn't know what to do.
It's okay, nothing is gonna happen to her, I will try my best to get our daughter back safely.
Aliya sat on the bed processing what just happened. Aiden was back but he was no longer the Aiden she knew, no longer the Aiden that loved and protected her, he's full of anger and hatred and she didn't seem to understand where it was coming from. She was the one who was supposed to be mad at him for abandoning her and disappearing.
Ryan and her family must be worried about her. The alliance she worked so hard to get was destroyed today. They would probably be looking for her everywhere and she didn't even know if she was still in the Capital City, Aliya's mind raced with different thoughts of escaping and an idea struck her mind, she looked around the room and found what she needed.
Aiden cast one final glance at him before leaving. Ryan stood there clenching his fist tightly, who was he to threaten him? Aliya was supposed to be his, he stole her away. Aiden arrived at the basement of Hendrix Global where the invaders were held captive. One of his men led him to them. Boss you’re here, Gary said, making way for him. Aiden’s gaze swept over the captives, his expression a mask of cold fury. A trickle of blood snaked down one man's temple, staining his already dirt-smeared cheek. Aiden didn't flinch. He approached the man with the head wound, his shoes echoing on the damp concrete floor. He knelt, his eyes level with the captive's, the intensity of his stare almost palpable. "You thought you could disrupt my event," Aiden said, his voice low and dangerously calm. The words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken threats. He lightly touched the man's wound, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. "Let this one go, he needs to inform his boss of the consequences o
Aiden’s gaze met hers, his expression unreadable, yet a flicker of something ? Matilda’s face contorted with barely suppressed rage, watched their silent exchange with a burning hatred that threatened to consume her. Her hand clenched into a fist almost painfully. The emerald silk of Aliya’s dress, a vibrant contrast to her own somber black, seemed to mock her. The whispers and murmurs that followed Aliya’s presence heightened her anger. Aliya reached Aiden, her approach deliberate, her gaze unwavering. She paused briefly, a silent acknowledgment of Matilda before turning her honey-colored eyes to Aiden. “Congratulations Aiden.” Aiden nodded subtly, staring at her as they shared a silent communication. Matilda’s anger simmered, barely contained. She forced a smile, a brittle, strained expression that did little to mask the icy fury in her eyes. Her hand, still gripping Aiden’s arm, tightened further, a silent declaration of ownership that went unnoticed by most, but not by Aliy
The launch of Hendrix Global was the social event of the year in the Capital City. The fifty-story HG tower, its sleek silhouette piercing the skyline, pulsed with anticipation. Inside, the banquet hall throbbed with the energy of the city's elite. Men in impeccably tailored tuxedos mingled with their elegantly dressed companions, the air thick with the scent of expensive perfume and the murmur of hushed conversations. The sheer opulence, the shimmering chandeliers, the meticulously arranged floral displays, the expertly poured champagne spoke volumes about the power and prestige of Hendrix Global.Friends gathered in groups discussing the mystery identity of the CEO of Hendrix Global, as well as the notable powerful men in attendance of the launch.Meanwhile, at the Manor, Matilda slipped into the breathtaking black mermaid gown Aiden had sent. The sleek fabric clung to her curves, the subtle slit hinting at the length of her legs. She looked like a delicate princess."Young Miss,
Aliya was all set for work, she skipped breakfast, ignoring the gnawing emptiness in her stomach. Earlier she had seen Matida’s theatrical display of fragility and Aiden’s solicitous concern. She wasn’t interested in seeing Matilda acting all delicate and Aiden’s caring face. She was all set to leave when Tessy confronted her."You can still go to work," Tessy said, her voice tight with accusation. "The young Miss had a fall and a fractured knee but you don't seem to care at all."Aliya's lips curled into a sneer. "Why should I care? Did I push her?""You…" Tessy sputtered. "She clearly fell because she was looking for you while you were away! You're married to the boss, yet you were fooling around with another man…"Before Tessy could finish, Aliya's hand snapped out, connecting sharply with Tessy's cheek. The slap echoed in the sudden silence.Tessy's hand flew to her burning face. "You… you slapped me!"Aliya stepped closer, her eyes blazing. I don't know your relationship with Mat
Aliya left his room feeling distraught. Aiden’s last words kept resounding in her ears. In her room, she sat on her bed holding on to the picture of Aiden and her with their youthful innocent smile. Tears streamed down her eyes as she looked at the picture. He said that Matilda was the most important person to him in this world. What was she? A joke. She smiled amidst her tears. “Was she a fool for believing that she could still get the old Aiden back? Was getting married to him a mistake. This Aiden was unrecognizable, Aiden would never make her cry nor would he hurt her.” Aliya’s tears flowed freely down her cheeks, her phone beeped with an incoming message from her friend Jason. “Got some information about him, I’ll have it sent to your company tomorrow” Aliya wiped her tears, Sentimentality was a luxury she couldn’t afford now, the first step to victory is to know about your enemy. The Velvet Lounge throbbed with bass and the murmur of privileged voices. Ryan nurse
In the restaurant section, Ryan held Aliya’s hand with both hands. You can tell me Aliya, were you cornered and who was the kidnapper, only then can I be able to help out. You said we were not just business partners, we are friends too and friends don’t hide things from each other. Aliya looked at his worried face. She really couldn’t tell Ryan now until she understood Aiden’s identity, she wouldn’t want him to be caught up in her family’s mess. I will tell you everything soon, Aliya said covering his hand with hers, I need to understand the whole situation so you don’t get involved in this, I just hope you will stop being mad about the annulment of the alliance. This scene greeted Aiden when he walked into the restaurant. This sent a surge of primal rage through him looking at their hands clasped together, a picture of intimacy that twisted Aiden's gut with a sickening jealousy. Ryan's concerned expression, the gentle way he held Aliya's hand, fueled the inferno of possessiveness
