Chapter Five:Love Is Out Of The Question!

Diana groaned in pain when she woke up from sleep, apparently it was just her in the house because Kelvin was kind enough, not to lock her up in the basement this time around, since the side of his bed was messy, so that's to say that they slept together on the same bed after what he did to her.

When the young lady sat up, she felt the pain travel all over her body, as she cried out and sat back down on the bed, her back was killing her and she didn't need anyone to tell her what she will see if she goes to the mirror, to see the state Kelvin has left her body.

But eventually, she stood up and took careful steps to the bathroom and gasped in shock when she saw her form in the mirror. She didn't feel this pain at work yesterday but now she is finally getting the hinge of it.

Red welts of his belt formed on her skin, starting from her hand down to her stomach, her back was a sore eyes to look at. Kelvin unleashed his anger out on her but this time around he was careful of her face, as he didn't like any scars being there but that's a stupid excuse considering that he still punches her whenever he wants, thus hurting her precious face regardless.

Diana cried out in pain and sorrow, nobody came to save her from the hands of her husband because everyone was too scared of Kelvin, and his influence in the town. Hence, she too couldn't save herself by taking the advice by leaving the marriage.

It's not like she hadn't done that before, but it didn't take much for Kelvin to find her and treat her like a slave rather than a wife she was supposed to be.

The girl looking back at herself in the mirror was helpless, she has lost a huge amount of weight than before she got married to this monster. All this just because she didn't make it home on time, Diana could now imagine how his reaction will be, once she asks him about the woman his mother introduced to her yesterday.

She knew that he's going to deny having any knowledge about anything. Kelvin is a born womanizer, he has hidden every ugly character of his and trapped her in this marriage while he goes around, putting his dick in every hole he sees out there.

She wasn't surprised why she isn't pregnant yet, because it seems the heavens are working in her favor because the last thing she wanted is to have his baby. No, that's like selling her soul to the devil forever.

If she was to leave him, then she would do that without having anything tieing her back here with him. She's done, absolutely done with his bullshits and at the end of the day he will say he loves her?

When the water was done, Diana settled under the warm water which made the open wounds in her body bite her, she tried controlling her tears but it just couldn't stop flowing.

She's helpless!

The only thing she got right now in life, which she's fighting for, was to be a regular employee at the publishing company in the city. Kelvin knew how much she worked day and night just to pass the interview at J&C publishing inc, so she wouldn't give up on her dream to become a full editor.

Kelvin wouldn't take that away from her, just like he has taken away everything else. Her dream was the only thing that got her going.

She was still lost in thought that she didn't realize when the door opened, and warm hands wrapped around her waist, coming in contact with her injury which caused her to cry out in pain and fear when her eyes connected with blazing green eyes that belonged to Kelvin, her husband.

He hasn't left yet?

“I'm sorry, forgive me, sweetheart.” Kelvin said, kissing her neckline as she felt nothing but disgust. His words did nothing to soothe the pain in her heart, if anything she wanted to bag his head against the wall till he bleeds to death, but she's no murderer.

Yet, she couldn't afford to make him angry at her this morning, especially when she has to go to work.

She didn't give him any answers, rather she closed her eyes and drowned down everything that was happening around her. She wanted to act like he wasn't here with her.

“I prepared breakfast.” Kelvin said, and when he saw that she wasn't listening he digged his finger into one of her open wounds which made her cry out , thus bringing her back to reality.

“K.. Kelvin, please.” She begged him, as his face softened hearing her beg him to stop.

He smiled at her, before turning her to face him. “All of this wouldn't have happened if you kept to your time, Diana. I don't like hurting you.”

He lies!

Diana nearly screamed at his face.

“There was traffic.” She said her voice was low but she's sure he can hear what she's saying. She didn't want him to misunderstand her explaining to him, as her shouting at him.

There was something wrong with Kelvin, he's bipolar yet he refuses to believe that. As a doctor, this wasn't something that he should be so careless about, but then she knew that Kelvin derived joy humiliating her at every turn. He loves seeing her cry and the most annoying part of it all, is his mother refusing to believe that there was something wrong with her son.

“I tried explaining, but…”She choked on her tears, which he wiped away from her face, before coming closer to kiss her but she turned her head to the side.

“I..have to go to work.” She said, instantly cutting whatever it is he wants to start with him.

How can he try to be affectionate towards her after what he did?

He didn't even tender an apology to her, all he did was blame her.

Surprisingly this time around, Kelvin didn't make any fuss about her going to work. If anything, he wanted her to be a housewife but that would mean killing her because she can't quit nor lose her job because of him.

“Fine.” He said, moving away for her to leave the bathroom but halfway to the door, she was yanked by her arm to face him again.

“Remember Diana, if i find out that you are seeing another man in the city, or you are cozy with the males in your workplace. You know what i will do to you right?”

What bloody rubbish is this?

“Answer me?!!” He insisted, squeezing her wrist which made her cry out in pain.

“Yes, Kelvin. I have ..heard you.” Dianna finally gave in, before he let her hand go and she wasted no time to hurry out of the bathroom before he tries to hold her back again.

But one thing is clear to Diana, she's not staying here to die in Kelvin's hands in the name of love and marriage, because at this point she wasn't even sure that she loves him again.

Love is out of the question!
