Chapter Four:The Search For A New Editor.

Xavier sat with one of his legs crossed over the other, acting like he's not the one who was being talked to. Ofcourse, just like he predicted President Cheng, was talking his ass out, especially about the part where the A-list Model, Anne has to carry her relationship with him out to the world just like that.

Not only was this about Anne, but then he was using this to bark his head off for failing to come back after several times, he wanted him here. Although President Cheng, has so far many good authors that were signed under his company, Xavier was among the best he had.

So that was the reason why the young man was acting as he pleases, but it calls for that because the amount of money he generates for the company is triple the amount others bring. Besides, his brilliance that was reflected in his work, Xavier was good looking.

With his brown chestnut hair falling across his fair, the glass he has over his face couldn't hide his enchanting eyes, that his fans tagged is the gateway to heaven. His blue eyes are mesmerizing that one would get lost while staring at them.

With his pointed nose, and cute sexy lips with a slender jaw that accentuated his spotless skin, indeed God took his time creating him and Xavier knowing what he has never fails to use that, hence that's why he's popular among the ladies.

“Are you even listening me?” President Cheng asked Xavier, when he noticed that the young man was busy scrolling through his phone and wasn't giving him attention.

He could hand smack him at the back of his head to instill some respect, but that's what Xavier doesn't have. Though, he knew that was because Xavier was comfortable around him, but that doesn't explain why he derives pleasure in stressing his life.

“Of course not, because you are nagging like my wife. But what a pity, i am not married yet.”Xavier wiggled his brows at him as the man chewed on his lips bitterly.

“Maybe you should consider doing that, not only will it curb your Casanova lifestyle but then, who knows what side of Xavier it will bring out. I desperately want a makeover of everything about you. Think about it, Xavier.” President Cheng said, coming over to pay his shoulder.

“I heard you were having problems with ending your story, who knows you could get over your writer's block over a new experience, falling in love and getting a wife. Oh! I can't wait to see that happen '' He added, president Cheng was a die hard fan of romance and he knew what Xavier sets to offer, if he just decided to open his heart towards love.

What's a writer who writes romantic stories but doesn't experience them?

He wasn't done with his statement before Xavier's mood had already changed.

“Why am i here?” He asked in a serious face, he could take anything but when it comes to his private life. He wanted that kept private and it has nothing to do with President Cheng if he decides to die single. Afterall, he has his money and he didn't say anything about being lonely.

Though, he knew that he's just looking out for him and trying to get him to make more money for him, which he could understand but love has nothing to offer him.

What is love when his parents abandoned him in the orphanage? Yet everyone speaks of love as if it does nothing but creates a world, a stupid world living in a fake illusion that love answers all things.

What is love when his girlfriend cheated on him with his best friend? It's not like he was poor when Becky did what she did, no! She just wasn't satisfied with the thought of ending up with someone like him, who she knew will never end up loving her the way Cain will do.

So, he doesn't blame anyone for the decision they had to make because of him. He understands everything.

“i heard you were still confused about choosing an editor for your story. I have a friend who could help…”

“Sorry, but i don't miss business with pleasure.” Xavier said, standing up to leave.

“I wasn't done talking to you, Xavier. You owe me more than just sitting down here, and thinking of what more troubles to create for yourself.”President Cheng said sternly, as Xavier mumbled something before settling down on the seat.

“Like i said, he has a publishing company and tons of editors that could help you, since you are still ambivalent about choosing from your tons of editors at the company.”

“I didn't come off to be rude or question your editors, Cheng. I just want something new for my story, a different experience and none of them are giving me that vibe.” Xavier explained.

“Of course,i understand. Anything for the money.” President Cheng snickered, before standing up to take a file from the table and handed it over to him.

“I have already spoken to him on your behalf, he has exceptional editors that can aid you, if only you can explain what you want…” President Cheng said, but was cut short by Xavier again.

“I would like to make the selection myself.” Xavier said, as a matter of fact he's serious. All these years he has only worked with the ones President Cheng suggests for him, and almost all the female editors sent his way knew the way to his bedroom. So he's done mixing business with pleasure.

Just like he said, he wants a different experience this time around.

President Cheng paused, as if he wasn't in agreement to what he said, before he caved in.” Okay, anything you want. Just make the call on when you are going over to the company to make your selection.”

“This time I want this to be kept a secret, until i am done with the book. Nobody has to know who the editor is, until everything has been settled?” Xavier added.

“Can i ask the reason why you are changing everything, Xavier?”

Xavier paused, he didn't actually know but all he knew he wanted was a new experience with everything about his life.

“I'm not quite sure.” He shrugged his shoulder while standing up from the chair. “After all it's a new year, I have got tons of things to change about me.”

“That's my boy!” President Cheng said, making Xavier’s face grease at him, calling him a boy.

“Can i leave now? I really need to sleep.” Xavier yawned, while leaving Cheng’s office to see Jake outside with a worried look on his face.

“Was he angry?” He asked, but all Xavier did was to give him the file containing the information about the new publishing company he's going to work with.

“I need you to check this out and give me your feedback.” He said, before leaving for his car. This year is going to be a good one, he knew that.
