“All okay,” the agent muttered sternly, as he found nothing suspicious on his watch.

His tone was reassuring, making George who was on the phone there sound satisfied. After hanging up the phone, he smiled at his colleague who was next to him in the car.

“You are sleepy, huh?” the agent smiled at his colleague who who knows how many times yawned beside him.

They were indeed summoned to work tonight suddenly without any preparation. It was their job to be ready at any time, but his comrade seemed to be completely unprepared physically to stand guard tonight. His wife had just given birth and, like any new father who had just brought the baby home, he must have been sleep deprived.

“You can sleep first, I'll be on guard,” the agent offered pityingly.

There is nothing wrong with sending his partner a little sleep anyway, because tonight seems calm and it seems that what George was afraid of will not happen; there won't be intruders, kidnappers or even The Slayer to come.
