In the morning, Jose forces himself to have dinner downstairs even though Valerie forbids him. The man said he was already strong and in the end, Valerie gave up because his husband's stubbornness.

After dinner they sat close together on the dimly lit sofa of the nine blue candles, which were arranged half in a circle in a lovely little corner. Valerie stared at the candles and a warm feeling flooded through her, making her realize how much her husband loved her.

“For some reason, when I saw the candles, when I still lost my memory, I felt a tremendous jolt. It made me dizzy, nauseous and wanted to pass out.” Valerie looked at Jose lovingly. “I used to think it had something to do with bad memories, but it wasn't. My reaction was like that, maybe because my heart remembers it but my brain can't remember.”

Valerie curled up tighter in Jose's embrace. Their eyes both enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
