Chapter 24: Marriage Proposal
(Catherine’s POV)
“Cathy, hey! Cathy! Cathy!” Monique’s waving hands flashed in my eyes instantly.
“Yes, sorry. What are you saying?” I didn’t notice that my thoughts drifted away. Caught up in a trance, I can’t concentrate on our conversation because the words left by President Lu keep on popping up.
“Are you okay? You seem distracted. Is something bothering you? I’m free to listen.” Worry flashed in her small eyes. Her eyes blinked a couple of times while looking at me. Her slender white fingers covered my hands resting on the table, comforting me.
I flashed a smile to reassure her that everything was fine. I don’t want to worry her about my current predicament, especially now that she’s having trouble with herself.
Pinching her pale white hands, I smiled gently. “Don’t worry. It’s not that serious, I’ll tell you about it soon when I figure things out. By the way, you were talking about some big news. What is it?”
