(Catherine's POV)
It was already late in the evening when we finished talking to the wedding coordinator. I was so amazed by how efficient she is.
Even for myself, I don't really have any expectations about this wedding since it's just a contractual one. But, with how Ms. Wang planned the wedding. I can't help but feel mesmerized by it.
From the wedding venue to the wedding cake, invitations, food, and beverages, everything was beautiful. We just have one problem right now, which is the gown I'm going to wear.
Since this is a rushed wedding, it would be better to wear a ready-made gown, but President Lu insisted on making a custom-made one.
It's fine with me with what gown to wear. I don't really care much about it. As long as it can fit me, then it's fine. But President Lu is really giving everyone a hard time.
He insisted on his decision and he even offered to pay twice the price just to have it made before the wedding day.

(Catherine's POV) Clad in a crimson-white sleeveless dress, my hair tied up in a bun, I looked at myself in the mirror where it reflected the image of a woman that she didn't know she would see once again. Her make-up completely highlighted her amber eyes, making them look brighter. Her neck is now adorned with a simple gold necklace given to her by President Lu. Earlier this morning, different people came knocking. Together with them are rows of pieces of jewelry, designer dresses, bags, and shoes. They also brought with them some stylists. I was baffled when these people came. But when Secretary Lin entered, I finally realized that they were the people sent by President Lu. He really made a lot of effort for today's event. I'm also a little bit nervous about this meeting. Although I have already met Chairman Lu a lot of times, I was a professor at that time, so it's easier to approach him. But now, I'm going to meet him as his grandson's soon-to-be
(Catherine’s POV) As I looked at the time on my watch, I realized that it was almost time for the ceremony to start. I picked up my phone and called Monique to tell her that I'd be going home late since I hadn’t informed her about it yet. After a few rings, the call came through. “Hello, Monique?” “Cathy, hey! What’s up?” Sounds of people’s cheers are heard in the background. “Where are you? Why is it so noisy out there?” I can hear the loud music playing in the background. If I’m not mistaken, she’s in a bar right now. It’s not a surprise to me since she’s been bar hopping quite a lot of times before. “Oh, is it so loud? Wait, I’ll go out for a moment.” Monique went silent and all I could hear on the phone were noises from the place. Someone knocked on the door and announced that we should go now to the theatre hall located near the Music Department Building. Everyone responded and I stood up with my phone in my hand. “Hey, Ca
(Catherine’s POV) I hurriedly went inside our apartment as soon as I arrived. Opening the door, I went straight to the kitchen counter and took a glass of water. “Catherine, it’s okay! He won’t be able to recognize you. It’s fine!” My back slowly leaned back on the closed refrigerator door, still trying to calm myself. After a couple of minutes, the door of the apartment suddenly opened and Monique’s voice was heard all over the place. “Cathy! Cathy! Where are you?!” “I’m here!” Monique’s silhouette instantly appeared in the kitchen. Looking at her face, it was very clear that she was running. Her hair was slightly disheveled and I could see in her feet some redness in it. She must have removed her high heels on the way here. “Cathy!” She immediately hugged me tightly. “Are you okay? What do you mean you saw him again? How is that even possible? I thought that happened in City A?” We took a seat in the dining area. Monique sat beside m
(Catherine's POV)'Where am I?’ I looked around the place and all I could see was white. I walked and walked, but it was pure nothingness.A voice suddenly sounded in this quiet place. “Catherine…” I looked back but I saw nothing. So, without any choice, I followed that voice until I saw something at the far end.I hurriedly ran without minding the cold ground. As I reached my destination, my brows furrowed and my amber-colored eyes looked intently at the familiar-looking door in front. 'It’s a door. Wait a minute, this door seems familiar… Right, it’s the door used in the operating room. Why is it here?'There was still nothing except for this door in front of me. Hesitation stopped me from opening this door. My hands seemed to freeze when I saw this oddly familiar door.Taking a few deep breaths, Ifinally decided to take a step forward. Then suddenly, the voice I heard earlier ca
(Catherine's POV)I was so engrossed with checking the research files my assistant handed to me. It's been years since I started researching about my sister's illness. But because of its rareness, I didn't manage to make any breakthroughs. My phone suddenly rang. I took a look and saw that it was my mother who was calling me, so I pressed the answer button. "Hello, mom".The crying sound of my mother on the phone made me startled. I immediately dropped my files on the table and placed my focus on the phone. This made me worry because it’s unusual for my mother to act like this unless something happened to Winter.I had a bad premonition about this so I called her again to get her attention. "What happened, mom? Why are you crying?""Catherine! Winter... she...""Mom, what happened to Winter? Did something happen to her?""She...She had an attack just now. We're already in an ambulance, your sister needs you, Catherine."A
(Catherine’s POV)I went out of the ward and saw my mother sitting on the bench outside. She immediately rushed towards me and asked about Winter’s condition.Controlling my emotions, I reached out to her hands and held them tightly. “Mom, the test results came and according to that, her condition seemed to get worse and it spread faster than normal. I’m afraid, in a few weeks, it will reach her brain, which makes it more dangerous.”Tears spread in her already wet eyes. I raised my arms and hugged her gently. I'm also on the verge of crying but I suppressed it. My mother needs me and I need to be strong for her. "Mom, I promise you, I will do my best to save Winter. She's a tough girl. She will not leave us. There's still hope."I brought my mother back to my office so that she could rest properly. This was a tough day for her, not just physically but also emotionally."Mom, why don't you take a rest first while we wa
It's been three days since Winter died. They hosted a funeral for her and a lot of their friends and relatives came to share their condolences.Catherine handled the funeral to the best of her abilities. She chose the funeral home, the casket, flower arrangements, memorial cards, funeral songs, and even Winter’s dress. Her father entrusted her to do this. Her mother is still in the hospital because her blood pressure keeps on rising and she still can’t handle these things. Her father is with her to take care of her.(Catherine's POV)Looking around the place, a sad smile crept onto my face. I can’t believe I arranged everything for this funeral. I had never once thrown an event nor hosted one. This will be the very first one, and it’s my sister’s funeral. One of the maids came and told me about the number of guests attending today. So, I left her some instructions that I needed to prepare. “Can you p
(Catherine’s POV)Weeks passed by so fast. After sending Winter to her final place, life continued as usual. It’s like how the sun sets and shines again. However, no matter how it repeats its rotation, it will never be the same again. Yesterday was different from today. While tomorrow is different from today. This is how our life continued after her death.Even if we continued living, it felt different than before. There’s always emptiness in our hearts that we can’t fill. Since that day,I lost my passion as well. I lost my happiness and inspiration. I mostly stayed at home most of the time. I spent less time in the hospital, which greatly shocked my colleagues. They knew me as someone who was passionate about my job. They knew me as someone who would rather work than sleep. So, it caused them to be confused about my actions. I can’t help it. I lost my will to continue to work hard. My sister is already dead, so what’s t
