Chapter 5

“Why are you here, Captain?” Sofiah asked Matin who was watching her checking patients’ report.

“I'm working right now,” he replied with a poker face.

“You work at the air base, not here. But lately, you keep coming to the hospital. Perhaps, do you want some injections?” she said, showing the syringe.

He chuckled at her intimidation.

“You're under me, so now I'm checking whether you're doing your job or not,” he replied, staring at her.

She shot a glare at him and said, “I have a supervisor here. I don't need a second supervisor.”

“But my command is higher than your supervisor.”

“Captain, if you keep coming here, I do not hesitate to give you an injection,” she said, threatening him.

“If you inject me, I do not hesitate to put your name on the disciplinary paper.” He raised his eyebrows at her while smirking.

She rolled her eyes as she’s tired of his childish behaviour.

“Are you done talking nonsense? I have ward rounds,” she said, heading towards the ward.

He followed behind her as he still couldn’t get enough of her.

“It seems like you’re doing your job quite well. Then, I don't have to put your name in the disciplinary paper for now,” he said, trying to get her attention.

She stopped her walk and turned to look at him.

“I'm not scared of that, Captain.” She stuck her tongue out and walked away.

Her irritating face really made his day.

❤❤❤

Sofiah was walking towards her car at the hospital parking lot. But she felt someone was following her. She decided to turn her back and then.

PANG!!!

Sofiah felt hurt at her left cheek.

“You bitch! You're the reason Mazid left me!!!” A woman slapped and shouted at her.

PANG!!!

Sofiah slapped her back.

The woman wanted to slap her again but Sofiah quickly grabbed both of her hands tightly.

“How dare you slap me?!!” Sofiah shouted back at that woman.

“Arghhhh!” the woman groaned in pain as Sofiah was twisting her hands.

Sofiah now was boiling with anger. “You called me bitch? Don't you know who I am?! Then, let me tell you.”

The woman was trembling as Sofiah scared the hell out of her.

Sofiah took a step forward and whispered to the woman's ear, “I'm a daughter of Major General and you messed with the wrong person. Now, I want to break your filthy hands!”

She twisted the woman's hands again, but with greater force than before.

Matin accidentally saw the whole situation and ran to stop Sofiah.

“Sofiah! Stop it!” he yelled.

She ignored him and continued with what she's doing. That woman was groaning in pain and Matin gently held Sofiah's hand to stop her.

“Fiya, please stop. This is not the way to solve the problem,” he said with a gentle voice as he’s looking at her in the eyes.

Her eyes were still filled with anger.

“Fiya, please.”

Finally, she released and pushed the woman's hands, causing her to fall to the ground. She then bent her knee and grabbed the woman’s face harshly.

“You're lucky today. But don't ever show your face in front of me again!” she said and pushed her face away.

Before she walked away, she threw money at that woman. “Take this! You might need it for your hands. Poor girl.”

Matin was speechless at her behaviour. That’s his first time seeing the very bad side of her.

The woman turned to look at him and she’s shocked.

“Ma-Mazid,” the woman said to Matin.

“I'm not Mazid. I'm his twin brother. Don't ever show your face in front of us again if you don't want to get hurt. Now get lost!”

He left the woman and ran towards Sofiah.

“Fiya! Wait!”

Sofiah turned around, looking annoyed. “What do you want?” she asked.

“Your mouth is bleeding. Let me help you to clean it.”

“No need. I'll clean it by myself.”

“Don't be such a stubborn brat!” Matin grabbed her hand and started walking towards the hospital.

“Wait! I have a first aid kit inside my car.”

She gave in to him and let him clean her bleeding mouth.

“Ouch! Can you be gentle?!” She started getting mad at his roughness.

“Sorry. I'm trying my best now, okay. Don't complain too much.”

She rolled her eyes in annoyance and replied, “I'm not asking for your help.”

“Who is she anyway? Why did she slap you?” he asked, curiously.

“She's Mazid's ex-girlfriend. She said that I'm the reason he left her,” she explained. “By the way, don't tell Mazid about this. I don't want him to feel guilty.”

“You care about him, huh?” He sounded a bit jealous.

“Of course! He's my best friend,” she replied with a poker face.

He narrowed his eyes as if he didn’t believe her.

“W-what?” she stuttered.

“Are you sure only as a best friend?” he asked, suspiciously.

“What do you mean?” she asked in confusion.

“Do you have feelings for him?” he asked again, looking at her in the eyes.

“No. Of course not.” She gulped in nervousness at their closeness position right now.

“Good. Because I would never allow him to be with you.”

“Jeez! Now get out of my car.” She pushed him away.

“Is that how you talk to your Captain?!” he asked with widened eyes.

“The working hour is over. Please leave.” She pushed him again.

“You wait until the working hour. I know what I'm going to do with you,” he said, threatening her and getting out of her car.

“I'm not scared.” She stuck her tongue out and drove away.
