034 The Silver Wolf

"Why did you break my phone? It's not like he can track it or something." Kitty complained to the man "escorting" her from behind.

The man: "..."

"Well, it was brand new, you own me a phone." Kitty carried on, seeing that he didn't intend to talk much.

The man: "..."

"Why do you want me though? I don't really--" Kitty shrugged and kept on trying to get him to talk. He must know stuff, at least more than her. And it might slow them down if she gets him to talk, too.

"Shut up!" The man suddenly yelled at Kitty, and she shrunk a bit and stopped.

"Why are you so mean? I'm following your order, aren't I?" You need the street wisdom to survive if you are a stray cat. And Kitty was a good one.

"Keep on walking." The man said sullenly. Apparently he had passed his out burst and was trying to keep in silence again.

"Hey it's you who want something from me now. Better be polite to me. It's not like I'm asking too difficult questions, am I? You will kill after anyways, why can't you talk to me for a while?" Kitty won't move. She stared at him with her arms crossed in front of her chest.

"Would you rather die here?" The man threatened.

"Would you like to explain to your master why he could have got an important information from me, but instead all he got was a dead body?" Kitty didn't budge.

She talked him into not kill her back there, she could talk him into spilling more beans on the way.

She just hoped Erebus would come looking for her. Because otherwise, this was just meaningless delay on her death.

"I own you a phone, if you are alive tomorrow." The man sighed.

"And what do you want from me?" Kitty went on.

"We don't want nothing from you!" The man burst into anger, "My mission was to kill you! You are a nobody! You are the one who said you know important information and I--"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know what I said." Kitty waved impatiently, satisfied to see that the man nearly fainted from his anger, "I meant, why do you WANT me dead? It's not like I post any threat to you, OR your master. And like you said, I'm a nobody."

"Our order was to wipe out the village with no survivor." The man took a deep breath trying to find his cool, "Can we go now?"

"Yes, but after one last question." Kitty nodded casually, but suddenly added: "But you did leave one, didn't you?"

"..." The man didn't reply, but his face gave him away.

Emma WAS alive!

This whole thing must have SOMETHING to do with the blue haired witch, AKA, Emma's mom. They chose this village on purpose, and they didn't want anyone to survive with a tale! But the question remained, why did Perses kept Emma alive when he gave the order of killing everyone? And Kitty didn't know anything about his plan, not before he tried again and again to kill her. Why didn't he leave her alone?

The "kill all" order didn't make sense, nor did Emma's survival.

"Go." The man pushed Kitty on the back. Kitty was making some break through on her deduction, but that was certainly not what he wanted.

"Fine! Don't touch me! I can walk." Kitty slapped on his hand and started walking again.

"Yes, boss." The man's voice suddenly rose.

Kitty didn't even hesitate; she ran the second she realized he was on a call. And the next second the man ran and caught her by her collar with the phone held tight in his hand, cracked open.

He used too much force on it when he rushed into catching Kitty.

"I'll kill you!" The man growled.

"Why?! I'm your hostage Isn't that what I supposed to do? To try to run?!" Kitty hide her head under her arms whiling screaming.

The man: "..."

Guess that was a first one for him.

"Well, now we are square. You don't have to buy me a phone now." Kitty shrugged at him, and she saw him staring at her with a murderous look, as if trying to decide whether to kill her right here.

Finally he gave up that thought.

"I need to return a call." The man grumbled, his hand tight on Kitty's collar, dragging her along with him.

"Let go of me! I won't run!" It was hard for her to breath, so Kitty knocked on his hand to try to get rid of him.

"I thought that's what you are supposed to do." The man didn't even stop.

"Hey, I... have a friend... around here! Wanna use... her phone?" Kitty's voice broke up because her collar constantly reined on her neck, and she had to pull hard on the front of her collar to try to breath, but she managed to point at a direction.

"Yeah, I'd love to." The man said in a sullen voice and went on the opposite direction.

"Glad to... to see that you... you have humor too..." Kitty replied to the man's sarcasm, satisfied to see that the man was walking right towards Maple Avenue.

Of course he won't listen to her, which allowed her to trick him into the direction she wanted.

"Could you please... let go of my collar?!" Kitty started struggling and kicking her legs, trying to get out of his grab.

"Stop it!" The man growled, "I'll let go if you keep quiet and cause no more trouble."

"Fine!" Kitty yelled, and finally she could breathe freely again.

This time Kitty was very willing to walk with him. They WERE on the way to Maple Avenue, and Kitty was sure Winnie could take him down easily, considering she had made dogs out of werewolves who were just like this man.

But they found a telephone booth before they could reach Maple Avenue.

"Over here." The man pushed Kitty toward it.

"Sure, would you like to have me do the dial for you?" Kitty said sarcastically.

"Yes, boss." The man didn't reply to Kitty's taunt and dialed a number, "An accident and my phone broke."

Kitty couldn't hear anything, but she did memorize the phone number. It's funny how much people would tell a "dead body".

"Not yet. She's right here with me. She said she knows important information about you--"

"Fool!"

That was the only word Kitty heard through the phone.

"I'm sorry, boss!" The man bowed his head to the phone as if he was in front of the "boss". Guess he was in deep fear of that man.

"Yes, boss." The man said and hang up the phone. Only this time, he turned to Kitty with a murderous look on his face.

Kitty didn't need any more hint: she turned and ran towards Maple Avenue, but it wasn't likely that she could make it before being torn into piece by the wolf growling from behind.

"Kitty!" Kitty heard the familiar voice coming from the direction she was running towards. She looped up, only to see the horrified look of the silver wolf running towards her, and she knew why--

She was going to die under the claw of the wolf behind her!
