Henry stared at me with the eyes of an arch-enemy.

I wanted to retrieve my hand from his grasp, but he refused to let go.

"Let go..." I struggled.

Suddenly, he released his grip, and I staggered backward.

Cynthia rushed over anxiously, trying to support me.

I pushed her away.

I was weak, and my strength was fading, but even with what little strength I had left, I managed to make Cynthia stumble and fall.

She cried out in pain and tears welled up in her eyes. She whimpered and called out to Henry, "It hurts, Henry, it hurts."

In the chaos, he anxiously picked up Cynthia, trying to soothe her.

She seemed utterly terrified, trembling in his arms.
