Chapter 27 (part 1)
Shàng Wèi looked surprised at the people in front of him.
"My dear boy, I am glad you are joining us for dinner. Please take a seat, don't just stand there in the doorway." The host greeted him warmly as soon as the waiter ushered him into the elegant study.
Shàng Wèi did not know what to expect from this evening; although the three figures showed no ill intentions towards him, his instincts predicted that it would not be a simple business dinner.
Two days earlier, Lord Dashwood had asked him to come urgently to Paris to dine in his company and discuss certain aspects of their financial arrangements. And he had reluctantly agreed; he would have done anything to get away from Adam and keep his mind on other matters.
