Heights

Elisia's head felt so heavy. She slowly opened her eyes, rolling it around to see where she was. She realized she was in a sitting position and had a seat belt on her waist.

She wasn't riding in a car anymore. She was on a plane and a private one to be exact. She looked around, searching for Thane but she couldn't find him.

A woman who was wearing a black fitted skirt and a sheer white top came out of what looked like a room. Elisia stared at her when she started walking towards where she was.

The woman who seemed in her early twenties had simple makeup on. She's pretty. Elisia thought inwardly.

"Hello Miss. I'm Mia, His Majesty's secretary. Do you need anything?" The woman asked.

Mia was smiling at her. But Elisia knew it wasn't sincere. She could feel something different towards her. Was it insecurity? Jealousy? Elisia didn't care much though. She wasn't there to please anyone anyway so Mia could hate her to her heart's content.

"Where's your king?" She asked in a cold tone.

She saw Mia's reaction changed for a moment, but put on a fake smile again before answering her.

"He's in his bedroom, resting. He told me to serve you if you need anything."

Elisia looked at the room where Mia came from. 'So that was his bedroom.' She thought to herself. She pouted when she heard her stomach rumbling.

"Do you have anything edible that I can eat? I'm starving." She said.

Mia didn't say a word and just nodded. She walked back to the other side and served a meal for her when she went back.

"Thank you." Elisia murmured.

"My pleasure. If you need anything, I'm just a call away." Mia answered, pointing at the intercom beside her.

Elisia nodded and started eating. She didn't bother to ask where they're going since she already knew where the werewolf king resides. It was called Mireworth Castle located in a country named by Zion, Versipellis.

She turned her head by the window and saw the clouds. The sky was bright, radiating from lights coming from the sun. Elisia suddenly felt lonely, thinking of the things that might happen to her in the hands of the werewolf king.

Thane didn't look ruthless, but there was something dark in him. She feared him, but she would never show it to him. She was a demon princess and was sent to Terra to spread terror. Thane should be the one to feel scared and not the other way around.

Elisia didn't realize that tears were already flowing from her eyes. She bit her lips, trying to stop herself from being emotional.

"You must not cry. You are the youngest daughter of Asmodeus and Lilith. That werewolf should know his place. I'll show Athanasia that I can get out of this mess without her help. I won't rely on anyone anymore. You hear me! I'll show you!" She shouted while wiping her tears.

Inside the private plane's bedroom, Thane was lying on the bed, thinking. His thoughts were full of Elisia. Not because he liked her, but because he was thinking of many ways to punish the stubborn princess.

"Why do you have to bring her to Versipellis? You could just force her to do what you want then leave her in Oprea." It was Mia who was ranting ever since he called her to pick them up.

She didn't know anything about the plans he made two years ago. For some reason, only selected individuals knew what happened. Athanasia knew that he died of poison, but Mia seemed to have no knowledge about it.

"Like I said, I don't have any obligations to answer questions about her to anyone. Just do what I asked you to do."

"A-Are you interested in her? I-I mean you shouldn't be. Y-You promised me so—"

"Enough! I don't want to hear another word! Don't talk to me like we are close. Remember your place. I am your king!"

Mia didn't say a word, turned her back and went out of the room.

Thane sighed. Mia was his childhood friend. In fact, they were pretty close when they were young. She was his first friend when he moved to Oprea. She was one of many people who didn't treat him like an outcast. But time went by and he noticed that she was being clingy. He thought it was normal, but her jealousy grew and did something unforgivable. She was just spared from punishment because he still needed her for his plans.

Mia didn't know that Elisia was a demon. The latter lived with the Terrans without transforming and using her powers for thirty years so maybe her scent as a demon faded. She learned to adapt and acted like a normal girl to the point that no one would recognize she was a creature from Acheron.

Thane had a frown on his face when his thoughts were interrupted by a continuous knock on the door.

"What the hell?"

He stood up to open the door and saw Elisia standing in front of him.

"Do you know the meaning of the word rest? If I'm not mistaken, Mia told you that I'm resting. I'm exhausted and that's thanks to you. Take credit for that!"

"I-I need to pee. I want to go to the toilet." Elisia said and didn't bother to talk back.

Thane frowned. "Then pee. Why do you have to knock like it's the end of the world? Would you like me to come with you?"

Elisia knew he was again amused by her. It was written all over his face that he enjoyed teasing her.

She pouted. "I-I'm scared."

"Scared? Of what? I didn't even look at you when you were unconscious."

Ouch. That hurt her pride as a woman a little, but who cares. She's not there to get close to him.

"I-I'm scared of heights." She blurted.

Thane was surprised. The princess had wings and it was definitely used for flying. How could she be afraid of heights? Is she bluffing? Then he stared at her from head to toe. She was a bit pale and her knees were actually trembling.

The flight was okay at first. The weather was nice. But now it was a bit bumpy due to turbulence caused by a sudden storm. He was about to tease her more when they heard a thunder and felt another turbulence.

Elisia screamed from fear and suddenly jumped into Thane's body making them fall on the floor.
