“I don’t know why we can’t just leave right now,” Pauline whined as she lay cuddled into Aiden’s chest on the bed. “I want to go home.”

“Did he come to fetch me for marriage?” she gasped as she sat up and faced him.  “I can’t marry him, Aiden. I love you.  I don’t want to marry anyone else.  My parents can’t force me or…”’
