"In about a week, you'll be able to go home." The doctor told me with a look of concern on his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked. Annoyance was evident in my voice.

"I'm just a little concerned about your safety. Maybe we should keep you for a while longer. Your brother did say to keep you as long as you needed, and you may need to stay here for a full recovery."

I knew what he was talking about. The douchebag didn't think I'd be safe around Adam. I'll admit I sometimes felt scared, but I knew Adam would never hurt me... Never again.

"If you want, we can arrange for you to stay in our independent living building. It'll be easier to get to your follow-up appointments."

I let out a sigh. I was considering accepting the doctor's offer. Then I realized something.
