REIGN'S POV

We had failed.

That much was sure when we woke up back in the room we had easily escaped from. I knew it was too good to be true. Freedom was at the tip of our fingers yet we had lost it.

After we had gotten over our shock of where we were kept, we naturally felt more optimistic about our escape plan but we had only taken a step forward when someone tackled me from behind and put a white cloth on my nose.

I tried so hard not to inhale it but obviously, I didn't succeed.

It was almost like deja vu as I remembered getting smothered like that in my car when Ivan wanted to meet me for the first time.

That was ages ago. I had no idea my life was going to become a whole 15 seasons tragicomedy series.

There was no hot, grey eyed man waiting for me when I woke up. Nothing except an empty room and Mel that was gradually waking up as well.

“What the hell?” Mel groaned. “We're back here?”

“We are,” I replied, almost comically.

“Shit,” she cussed, which was unlike her but I couldn't

  • Love in the Headlines    Believe in you

REIGN'S POV I must have drifted in and out of consciousness a few times. The first time I could hear voices in the room but I couldn't make out who they belonged to.“Will she be fine?”“She will.”“But she's still like that.”“Her body is healing itself so don't worry.”The second time, a name was mentioned. One that almost had me leaping up from my bed but I was too tired….too weak and so I drifted off again.“Ivan, you need to go home.”“I'm not leaving her side.”“She will be worried if she knows you're doing this.”“I'm fine.”The third time, I could finally lift up my tired eyelids and thankfully, the light from the room was dimmed. I blinked up slowly at the white ceiling, wondering where the hell I was. The beeping of the machine beside me let me know it was a hospital. What the hell happened?I felt pressure on my hand so I looked to the side.A man was holding it with his head down. A man that I knew all too well.Ivan.I attempted to remove my hand and sit up without distu

  • Love in the Headlines    Surrender

IVAN'S POV My eyebrows furrowed as I stared back at the face I hadn't seen in a while. Indeed, it had been a long time, as far back as the beginning of mine and Reign's story. The last time I had set my eyes on her was in the garden of Golden Day hotel. I had just finished closing up a business deal when I decided to take a breather in the garden. She had sneaked up on me unexpectedly and I only gave her the time of the day because I had seen her with my Father a few times. Father claimed she was his person in the media. We had an average conversation and I was just about to make up an excuse to leave when she started making advances at me and well, the rest was history.“You have gotten more handsome since the last time I saw you,” she smiled, unperturbed that several guns were pointed at her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Theo step into the room, his gun pointed at Bethany. It was like he knew she was the real threat.“What are you doing here?” I sneered. “Are you involved in t

  • Love in the Headlines    You are safe

IVAN'S POV I didn't take my father seriously. There was no reason for me to. Time and time again, he had made his dislike for Reign obvious. So why would he help me this time?“I can understand why you don't believe me but trust me, I actually know where she is.” Father insisted.“Why are you doing this? Why are you suddenly helping me?” My eyes narrowed into slits. I knew my father couldn't just change suddenly. He wanted something. “What do you want?”“Ivan,” he sighed. “She is Dashan's daughter. Even if I don't like her, I have to put my sentiments to the side and help. There has been an amicable relationship between the Hamiltons and the Dashans for years. I can't ruin that.”“Don't you think it's too late for that? Mr Dashan barely wants to see me,” I scoffed. I already hated myself enough. So much had been going on with Reign underneath and I had no idea. She looked sad and troubled but I never once talked to her about it, believing she was just stressed about the wedding.I wa

  • Love in the Headlines    Try it out

REIGN'S POV “You….you know?” It was impossible for my eyes to get even more larger than this. Mel knew? And she was not angry? Was I dreaming of this? I shifted on the ground and moved back a little, trying to study her face. Maybe she was actually angry but just good at hiding it.“Yes, Reign. I know,” she shrugged like we were having a small talk about the weather, not something I have agonized over a million times, not something I had thought would ruin our friendship.“Then….then…why are you so chill? Why are you not angry?” I asked.“There's no reason for me to?” She cocked her head to the side, a move so similar to that of Ivan that my heart started to hurt in my chest.Ivan, where the hell are you? It had been over a week if my calculations were correct.I shook my head, remembering the conversation I was having. “Ivan was your fiancé and you were going to get married.”“Ehn, I was indeed going to get married to Ivan but only because he asked but about that fiance's part? Iva

  • Love in the Headlines    Dead end

IVAN'S POV I glanced back at the fleet of cars behind mine as we sped down the tarred road. We were going to find them. I had received a signal from Reign's phone and we were rushing to the location. It was probably too good to be true but we were taking any lead we could find. It was a pure spur of the moment decision when I had installed a tracking device on Reign's phone months ago. I remembered that day like it was yesterday when she was looking for her phone around the house. It was probably an invasion of her privacy but I just wanted her to be safe. I wanted to know where she was.I never knew it would come in handy like this.“You were tracking my daughter?” Mr Dashan had asked, sounding dissatisfied.“I had to,” I shrugged. “Then, public opinion was not on her side. I had bodyguards guarding her but I still didn't feel reassured, especially not when a group of unknown men were following her as well.”“They were my men.”“What?” My mouth fell open. Exactly when did this man
