Chapter 1

It's another normal day for the Fox family, nobody would have believed they weren't fighting considering their voices could be heard by almost every house of the town. Their small town is a sweet and homely place if not for everyone knowing everyone and tends to judge behind their back. Being the mayor of the town, Nicholas Fox makes sure their family set a good example in their town or that's what he thought. He firmly believes his Children should be perfect, especially his youngest daughter, Winter Fox.

But Winter Amey is a stubborn young lady who tends to do the opposite of what her parents expect her to; like, right now, She's eating food that makes her gain weight. According to her mother, She was to eat only salad and Juice in the morning. Her parents are perfectionists and tend to disregard their wishes. By now, Winter couldn't care less about her parents' reputation and their complaints. She's Twenty-three years old now and soon She'll move out of their house or that's what she's planned this far.

“Mom will let you starve in the evening” her kindest sister comes towards where she was pigging out a bunch of fries, She smiles sheepishly but doesn't stop.

“Don't open your mouth while you eat” Joy reminded her, She would have rolled her eyes if not for her mother standing in the doorway with hands on her hips.

There She is, She thought.

“ Winter Amey Fox ” her mother's nasally voice reached her ears, She watched her mother mosey towards her and snatched the plate of fries from her hands. Her sister watched her sadly but she gave her a tiny smile reassuring her.

“What did I tell you about your diet?” she imagined banging the head of her stepmother. All she sees is red. If not for her father remarrying the spawn of a Satan, She would have been in Peace.

She wondered how her dad falls for someone like her step-mother. Her mom died after giving birth to her and She doesn't have any memories of her mom except her photos.

All she could remember as a child was the fight that occurred between her dad and her oldest brother; when her father decided to marry her stepmother who is currently glaring at her.

Sometimes, her stepmom acted lovely like the time her grandparents came to visit them and were to act kind and loving.

Lovely memories! She smiled a little.

“Winter, did your dad tell you about the volunteering work at the construction site?” her voice brings her out of her Dreamland. By now, Joy has long gone and she was standing alone with her step-mom. She tried to recall talking with her dad but couldn't find any.

“Never mind, ask him ” With that, She stalked off dusting the imaginary dust on her skinny dress.

Winter stared at the retreating figure and smiled to herself. 'Just one more month' was the mantra that she's been chanting for five years. Being the youngest daughter, she was needed to stay home with her parents, she was furious when she knew she wouldn't get the chance to move out unlike her other siblings. She's been saving up money and now the money in her piggy bank is at least enough for the plane ride to New York City and to pursue her dream. She grins at the thought of meeting a hot man and enjoying her life to the fullest.

By noon, Winter had done her day's work and was determined to visit her dad at his workplace. She had prepared the thing she needed to say to her dad for almost a month now. She knew her dad wouldn't take it lightly, that is why she bought the best shoes(according to her)when in fact they cost only 50$.

“I must do it” She reminded herself. With determination, She took her bike and drove in the right direction from her workplace. Winter works as the assistant editor in the local news company which is not at all her wish. The reason she joined is that she doesn't bear to stay in the whole room with her stepmother.

The thought of that bitchy woman makes her want to squeeze her head.

“Calm down, Winter, just three more weeks” She reminded herself. On her way, She saw expensive black cars parked in front of her father's office. She doesn't know the name of those cars but every person with eyes can see that it's expensive.

She enters the place putting her head down, Winter is not fond of talking with people she met, so putting her head down while walking is her way of ignoring talks.

The bell chimes when she pulls the door open and walks in without looking up, “Dad, What's with all those cars outside?” When there was no reply, She looked up and her cheeks warmed up instantly meeting the pair of different sets of eyes looking at her like some sort of dinner. She squirmed under their gaze and ignored their lustful eyes wanting to kick them in their balls.

“Sweetheart! What are you doing here?” her dad came out from his bathroom that is attached to his office. Seeing her father, She gave him the biggest smile she could muster up with. It has always been that way, Winter is the sweet, naive and kind person in front of her dad but that is far from the truth. “Ohh, daddy!” She squealed and went to hug him. “I have to ask you things but I'll see you at home” she excused herself referring to the group of men in expensive suits. She did not dare look at their face or more like She finds it useless since she won't ever meet them again.

“I'll see you at home, dad” She waved him goodbye and left the place grumbling under her breath. She sighed heavily and walked down the long street pushing her bicycle. She felt like She couldn't get another chance like today.

Don't lose hope, She reminded herself.

The street of Jefferson town looks so calm and lovely with the tall trees growing on both sides of the road. If she wasn't so determined to pursue her dream, She would have never thought of leaving this place. After all, her dad loved her; although, he was stubborn and uncaring. He loved her in his way, that's what she kept on reminding herself.

“My! Did you go to work looking like that?” Piper exclaimed from the doorway covering her hands in her mouth. Her middle sister tends to be dramatic sometimes, as for her attire, she looks down and finds nothing wrong about wearing jeans and a yellow hoodie.

“I am hungry” She didn't bother to reply and strut passed the living room. “Win, I have something to say” Piper stops her. For some reason, her sister was fiddling her hand nervously. She turns back in question. “You see, I entered your room to borrow your handbag and I am sorry” her heartbeat picks up hearing her sister's apology. She knew Piper knows her secret, her secret she's been hiding so well.

“You bitch” Piper's eyes almost bulged out of her sockets hearing her but she couldn't care less. Swearing and cursing are forbidden in their house and she knows she'll be getting the punishment later.

“Look- I am sorry okay! I won't tell anyone about it” She shakes her head furiously and with the hardest glare, she ran up the stairs and burst into her room finding her babies. She heaves a sigh of relief when she sees the bundles of notes and papers she treasure the most. She was so mad at her sister for going through her things. Piper has a big mouth and she knows she is doomed.

_____________________________________

It's close to midnight when she decided for a midnight stroll, her mood doesn't get any better even after she sleeps.

The night air is chilly with no one else taking a stroll in the street. Unlike her other siblings, She doesn't believe in ghosts and enjoys the night air by herself. She made a U-turn and came to see the huge glass building that is reserved only for the VIP that comes from the big city.

She has always been curious about what kind of people stayed there but like every other time, she knew it's impossible to meet them unless-

She shakes her head at her ridiculous thought, No way she would sneak in. She blamed her emotion for her crazy idea.

Suddenly, the door opened and a guy walked out of the glass door with a glass of wine in his hand. Not only was she speechless, but she almost drools staring at the shirtless man that makes her blink many times. It seems like her feet have a mind of their own and refuse to move. If the guy turns back, she is sure to get caught but her brain is not functioning right well at the moment.

She ducks down when he turns back displaying his abs and boxer. If she wasn't such a mess, she would have to take a picture, unless clicking a photo is not a crime.

“Who's there?” She heard him asking.

“Come out unless you want me to call the police” her heart starts beating harshly at the mention of police. She wondered why she was so unlucky today.

Squeezing her eyes shut, She stood up putting her hands up in surrender. She heard footsteps walking towards her. “Who the fuck are you? Are you a stalker?” she could hear the anger in his voice.

Stalk-

“Stalker!?” She gasps out with widened eyes. Her eyes trail down his body and a deep blush appears on her cheek.

She wondered if all the hot man’s voice needed to be this deep and seductive although he didn't try to sound like it.

“Can you talk?” he says harshly.

Finally, she looked up and was met with the pool of green eyes staring down at her or Glaring is the appropriate word.

She shifts her foot nervously and thinks of a way to make him understand she is indeed not a stalker but she's been staring at his hot body. She was tempted to ask him if she could lick it.

Whoah! Baby! Where does that come from?

“I- I wasn't staring at your hot body” She bit her lip and cursed herself.

On hearing her word, the giant steps closer towards her.“So, you think I am hot” her cheeks flush from embarrassment.

“Yes, Yes, I think you are hot but I need to go feed my ten kittens, two dogs and three chicken” with that, she pushes his bare chest and dashed towards the direction she just came in. She could hear him laughing until she was out of his sight.

She came back home and fed the food to her imaginary pets while she was the one eating it.
