I stared at my laptop, researching on how to win a man’s heart, but all of them were useless, after last night at the grave, Arthur’s attitude had become worse, he rarely talked to me and he just completely ignored me, he looked scared, anytime I told him, I wanted to tell him something, I knew he didn’t want my love, this should have discouraged any normal woman, but instead I fell more deeply in love, I would sit for hours picturing him kissing me, telling me he loved me, the most crazy thing now was I would imagine him making love to me and any time he comes, I would peek through the door watching him undress himself.

Once, he had suggested we have separate rooms but i quickly told his mom, who came and ordered him to call the idea quits, Arthur had given me the stink eye and ignored me. I picked my phone, a brand new iPhone 13 and dialed Brielle’s line.

She picked at the first ring.

“Morgan!! What’s up? How’s Arthur” she asked and I smiled sadly, if only she knew.

“It’s fine Brielle, Arthur is fine too” replied, “Can you come over?” I asked, she agreed and I cut the line. I really needed company, I only wished, life wasn’t so boring here. The doorbell pinged and Pedro ran to open the door, Brielle walked in smiling brightly, I smiled back halfheartedly, but she didn’t notice.

“Jesus, Morgan this is a freaking huge……..Oh my God is that an in-built water fountain?” She shrieked.

I smiled, “It is” I said and she stared in shock, she smiled at me.

“You are so lucky Morgan” Brielle said and I smiled, if only she knew. “So what it is you wanna talk about” Brielle continued.

“You should eat first” I said gesturing to the golden dining table, Brielle grinned,

“My God, Morgan, where do I find a rich husband?” Brielle said and I laughed, laughing for the first time in days, we talked about the latest trend and fashion.

The front door opened and Arthur walked in, he looked stunning, his hair fell to his forehead, the ponytail at the back of head was longer, he looked regal, his suit hugged his powerful frame, his beard was neatly trimmed, he stared at me, then at Brielle, who looked like she had seen the president, she licked her lips and I kicked her under the table.

“Can I join you?” He asked me, he nodded to Brielle and sat on a golden chair and dug into his food. He grabbed a glass of champagne and sipped. Brielle stared at him with wide eyes, then she smiled.

“It’s so nice to meet you Mr. Stone, Morgan has told me a lot about you” she said, he glanced at her, then rested his eyes on mine

“Did she?” There was an edge to his voice, Brielle didn’t noticed and rambled on.

“She told me how you take of care of her and how nice you are to her, how you love her” Brielle said and Arthur stared at me, surprise filled his eyes, then he nodded.

“Indeed” he said and smiled at her, “She is a nice wife herself, kind and full of love, wish I could be more like her” he said faking a smile and Brielle grinned.

“That’s nice, Mr. Stone” she said, she stood, she grinned at me and winked.

“I should be going now, bye Morgan,” she hugged me.

“Pedro!” Arthur called, the butler hurried over, “Take Miss Brielle home, here.” He tossed Pedro the car keys.

Pedro nodded and walked out with Brielle, Arthur stared at me, his blue eyes were unreadable.

“Why did you lie about me, I am not a nice husband, you know that” he said and I shrugged,

“You are a nice man, underneath I can sense it, I said and Arthur glared at me.

“You do not know me Morgan Grant” he said.

“Stone” I said, “It’s Morgan stone”

Arthur smile was sinister, he went to a bar and poured a drink; he sipped it slowly, glaring at me from across, I stood and walked up to the bar and poured a drink and added strawberries inside, and sipped, I moaned as the mixed flavor hit my tongue strongly, Arthur stared at me, and I smiled slowly.

“You know I was invited to a club tonight” I said and watched as Arthur took of his suit and draped it on the bar.

“What do I care” he said and I grinned and walked up to him and stared up at him.

“I know you don’t” I said, “Just want to let you know, I am vulnerable when drunk, don’t want to have a lucky stud………..you know, considering, I am your wife and all, I don’t want to cause a scandal”

I thought I saw jealousy flash in his eyes, he drank the last of his drink and glared at me.

“Fine, I’ll come along, fuck some stud if you want, it’s none of my business” he said, I smiled when I saw jealousy flash in his eyes, so he cared after all

It was time to put this to test

We reached the club and I grinned it was massive, people were here in thousands, I glanced down at the skimpy red dress I wore and smiled, Arthur eyes had roamed my body when I stepped out of the door, now he stood dressed in a designer shirt that hugged his body, his biceps stood out, he wore dark sunglasses, his hair was styled in its usual ponytail, ladies that we passed by turned and stared at him, I felt like stabbing each and every one to death, one licked her lips, but Arthur took no notice. He stared ahead then offered his arm, I stared at him in surprise, and slipped my hands in his, the feeling made me happy and I smiled.

Arthur headed to a bar with me tow, l followed, walking fast to keep up with his long legs. we reached the bar, and Arthur grinned at the barkeep.

“Vodka for the lady here, One for me too” he said, the barkeep nodded and served our drink, I stared at Arthur.

“You are being nice” I asked, He smiled at me, a slow smile that made my heart skip.

“For now” he stated, but that didn’t dampened my mood, I felt happy, the vodka went right to my head and I noticed a man across, with a huge beard, watching me, I turned to Arthur and inclined my head towards the bearded man.

“Looks like he knows you” I said, and Arthur eyes roamed, looking for who I was talking about, then his eyes rested upon the man and his expression changed, fury filled his face. I have never seen Arthur look so furious, even at me.

“Let’s get out of here now before I do something I regret” he growled and before we could turn, the man walked towards us, he extended his hand, which Arthur ignored.

“Arthur” he said, his voice too loud. “Nice, seeing you again”

“Vladimir,” Arthur said with distaste and the man turned to me and grinned, I could see the interest in his eyes.

“And who do we have here” Vladimir asked, his stare was making me uncomfortable.

“My wife” Arthur replied, jaw clenched. Surprise filled Vladimir eyes then he smiled, I could detect the falsetto behind that smile.

“You are so lucky, this is the most beautiful woman here” Vladimir said, “It’s a pleasure meeting you Mrs Stone”

I nodded, not knowing what to say, this man gave a dangerous vibe; he turned to Arthur and his smile faded.

“I’ll see you later Arthur” he smiled at me again and disappeared into the crowd. I looked up at Arthur.

“Who was that?” I asked and turned to me.

“I’ll tell you another time” Arthur grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the club, his hands on my wrist was like vice. He lead me out of the club and we entered his Ferrari, I rubbed my chafed wrist.

Arthur spun the wheel and slammed his foot on the gas, and we sped off on the highway, I stared as buildings passed by in a blur as one one thing filled my mind, repeating like a mantra

Arthur had called me his wife

Sage arrived unannounced, her presence instantly changing the atmosphere in our home. I had never met her before, but I knew of her. Arthur had spoken of her a few times, in that casual way you mention an old friend from childhood who had drifted away over the years. But now, seeing her in person, I could feel something wasn’t right. She didn’t come here just to catch up.She was beautiful, of course. The kind of beauty that seemed effortless—sleek dark hair, sharp green eyes, and a certain confidence that came with knowing you could get what you wanted. I couldn’t shake the feeling that she wasn’t just here to say hello.Arthur greeted her with the usual politeness, but I could sense the awkwardness in the way he stood, the slight stiffness in his movements. He didn’t seem thrilled to see her, and I wondered why.Sage smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Arthur,” she said smoothly, “it’s been too long.”Arthur nodded, stepping back to let her inside. “Yeah, it has,” he replied, his

When the police arrived and dragged Vladimir away, I could barely stand. My legs felt unsteady, and I leaned against the nearest wall, my mind spinning. I wasn’t sure what I was feeling at that moment—relief, exhaustion, or just pure shock. But I was safe, and that’s all that mattered now.Arthur was beside me in seconds, his hand resting gently on my shoulder. His face was tense, and I could see the worry in his eyes, but his presence helped calm the whirlwind in my head.“Are you okay?” he asked quietly, his voice rough from the earlier fight. He had never looked so worn out, but there was a softness in the way he looked at me that made me feel a little more grounded.I nodded, not trusting myself to say much. The events of the night were still swirling in my head, and my body ached from the struggle. Vladimir’s twisted words echoed in my mind, but I shook them off. He was gone now, arrested, and wouldn’t hurt me again. At least, not physically.Arthur wrapped his arm around me, pul

I had been locked in this dark room for what felt like hours, maybe even days. The walls were cold and damp, the air heavy and thick with silence. I could hear nothing from the outside, no sound of cars or people, just my own heartbeat drumming in my ears. I had no idea where I was. All I knew was that Vladimir had me, and Arthur wasn’t here to protect me. The fear gnawed at my chest, but I fought against it. I had to stay strong, had to believe that Arthur would come for me. He always did. But right now, that felt so far away. The door creaked open, and my heart raced. I saw Vladimir standing there, his eyes cold and calculating as he stepped into the room. His presence made the air feel even heavier. I backed up until I was pressed against the wall, every instinct telling me to run, even though there was nowhere to go. Vladimir smirked at me, that same sick grin I’d seen before. “You look so scared, Morgan,” he said softly, almost mockingly. “You didn’t think it would come to

It was just supposed to be a normal day.I had meetings lined up back-to-back, all centered on the business expansion, the kind of thing that normally took my focus. But ever since Vladimir had started lurking in the shadows, my mind wasn’t where it should be. Even when I was in those boardrooms, listening to presentations, signing off on contracts, my thoughts were somewhere else. My thoughts were with Morgan.I hadn’t wanted to leave her alone, not even for a few hours, but she had insisted. “Arthur, you’ve got work to do. I’m fine. Besides, the security team is here.” Her smile had been soft, reassuring, but it hadn’t eased the knot in my chest. But now, as I sat there in the middle of another meeting, my phone buzzed on the table. I glanced down at it, expecting it to be a routine email or a message from one of my assistants. Instead, my heart stopped. It was a text from one of my security guys.**Morgan is gone.**I didn’t even bother with an explanation. I stood up, ignoring the

The air felt thick with tension, even though I was sitting in our cozy living room, sunlight streaming through the windows. I could tell something was off the moment Arthur walked in. He didn’t have to say anything—his jaw was clenched, and the way he was pacing made it clear. Something was wrong."Arthur," I called softly from the couch, my hand resting on my small but growing belly. “What is it?”He stopped, turning to look at me. His face was hard, but his eyes softened when they landed on me. Still, I could see the storm brewing behind them. “Vladimir knows,” he said simply, his voice low and tense.I froze. The name alone sent a chill down my spine. “Knows what?”Arthur’s gaze dropped to my belly, and that was all the answer I needed. My hand instinctively tightened around my bump, protectively.“How…?” I asked, though deep down I knew it didn’t matter. Vladimir had eyes everywhere. Of course, he would find out. I just wasn’t ready to face the reality of it.Arthur sat down besid
