Beastly

Sarah knew he wasn't human after watching how he handled her brother's men back there but she had never seen or watched anyone change into what she was seeing before her eyes.

The man named John Crowe broke his back in half, not by his own doing per se, and changed into something novel.

This transformation didn't turn him into a wolf with fore legs and hind legs. But into one that stood tall before her very own eyes. His blue eyes shown brighter after the transformation, like crystals, and she found herself being magneted to them.

"John?" she said, when his screams had died down. His face was wider now, like that of a wolf. But it still retained those manly features. He was half man and half beast all rolled into one.

"What the hell is that? My god," Old Mikey gasped in surprise. He was still sitting atop the carriage and hadn't even thought of coming down.

John just stared at her, his face devoid of anything other than pain. But it was slowly seeping away from him, like wa

The Pull Well that made shit sense to Sarah. Old Mikey's use of words were like shards of glasses. They made no meaning and the puzzle they tried to place was lost on her."I don't know what you mean, Mikey," Sarah said to him. "You want to explain that to me better?"The door creaked open and the first thing Mikey did was to squat and clutch his gun."You can put the gun away. It's only me."The man stepped into the light from the moon."For the sake of decency!" Old Mikey said.Sarah held back a chuckle. John was without clothes and he boldly stepped forward as if he had planned all along to make that sort of entrance.Sarah wasn't fazed by what she saw nor was she surprised. Why would she be? That was the norm for their kind. Old Mikey didn't understand."Come, I'll show you to the bathroom," Sarah offered and held his hand.John was led like a loyal lamb to the slaughter, only he knew that he wouldn't get his neck torn out just yet."Why are the lights out?" John asked."Because

The Blackmail Topic Sarah's POV I heard my own heart beat unsteadily when he said that. We were hardly ever wrong when we sniffed the air, and if he felt like someone was coming, then I wasn't going to argue with him. Though I hadn't yet gotten a whiff of the scent.I remembered that the lights in the main house were still turned on, and maybe that had drawn someone's attention."I need you to stay here, John. Be quiet and don't make a sound," I told him. "I'll handle whoever it is, alright?"He grunted."Do we have an agreement, John? I don't need you blowing your cover. That person might be an enemy. So you have to promise me that you won't make a sound.""Alright," he said., and retreated towards the sacks. I realized that was going to be the only thing I'd get out of him. No promises just yet. I kept that in mind.I walked to the barn door and looked out. Saw no one heading toward the house yet, at least not from my side of view. And if there was really an intruder, I wondered f

HavenSarah was still looking at what he was pointing at and she didn't even notice when he sneaked up so close to her that she felt his low growl and his hot breath against her forehead.John was taller than she was, and Sarah had to raise her jaw so she could look into his face.Soon she had forgotten what he wanted her to look at. "What are you?" Sarah asked in a low whisper."Don't know," he said.Sarah took some steps backwards, her hand flying straight to her mouth. "Oh, my goodness. You can talk?""Not... much words," he said.Sarah laughed, it was just so good to be true. She walked around him as slowly as she could, taking all of him in. As if she wanted to memorize every angle of his new body and every contour."Does it hurt?""Very," John said. She came right in front of him again, and those eyes of his were as blue as ever. "I'm sorry."He grunted in response."Now I know why someone like you would hide what you are," she said."Not hiding," John said."Not hiding?" Sarah

Sense Of DirectionLucas Miller came out of David's house and waited on the porch. He looked in all directions, trying to figure out the exact course that a man like John would go.He couldn't second guess him. And if the doctor was right in his words, then the only option would be to track him East. But for the sake of precaution, Lucas decided to divide his men into groups. Not everyone would be going East."I need two men to go in all directions," Lucas ordered. "North, South, East, and West.""Where will you go, boss?" asked one of his henchmen. "I'll know soon enough," Lucas said. When his men were all gone, he stepped off the porch and placed a palm against the ground. Then he inhaled as deeply as he could. The air was think with scents but it was placing the right ones that was the challenge. The only relief he had was that people hardly ever came this way except when they wanted to take another exit from Black Hollow. And he wasn't sure anyone else would be leaving, save fo

Mutual Friend Dr David Holt had gotten a couple of breakthroughs before, but none of them could be superior to the one he was about to get.The appearance of John Crowe had placed something on his table. Something different from the norm. And he had an inkling that whatever breeze had blown that man into Black Hollow, that same breeze would have to protect him until his breakthrough was accomplished. He was whistling as he went about his business. There was a knock on the door, and with a jay attitude, went and opened it wide without looking through the peephole first. The people who stood on the porch weren't the ones he was expecting to see. There was Sarah's brother, Lucas Miller, and the rest of his henchmen.David's eyes fell on each of the men, then he blurted out, "Your sister isn't here, Lucas."Lucas scoffed. "Hear that, boys? He said my sister isn't here. How do you know I'm looking for my sister, doctor?" David said nothing. Lucas walked into the room, forcing David to t
